Property Ratings at Stone Gate Woods
We were caught up in the price for the amount of space that you get in a 2 bedroom, by far it is one of the cheapest in town, but there was a reason for the low price. None of the listings or the website give an accurate description of what these units actually look like. The kitchens are so outdated, the stove and fridge probably have not been replaced since the early 2000's. When you first walk into any of these buildings, you are immediately hit with the smell of stale cigarettes and mold. You can feel the anger and hostility that radiates throughout these buildings when you walk onto the property. This is not a place where you can have a healthy family or relationship. The hallways are like stepping back in time, clearly the carpets in the hallways have not been replaced since smoking in units were banned, but many neighbors still smoke. Once you walk into the units, you will begin to notice that no one invested in a level, everything is crooked throughout your entire apartment. C and B buildings are connected by the storage and laundry area, in the laundry area, you are supposed to have 2 washers and dryers that service 20 units. At any given time, only 1 washer and 1 dryer will be working, and to add insult to injury, you still need to pay $3 to do 1 full load of laundry. Maintenance requests don't get fulfilled, it will take multiple requests before anything happens. We had to deal with maintenance issues for 3 weeks before anything was done, but not done well. Every unit gets 1 parking spot, and then there are 3 visitors parking spots for 30 units. Visitors or second cars have to park on Starr Street and just hope that the drivers are paying attention as they speed down the road. THERE IS NOT A CLUB HOUSE HERE, THERE IS NO PROPERTY MANAGER ON THE PREMISE, THERE ARE NO TENNIS COURTS. The steps leading down to B and C buildings are dangerous, they are incredibly uneven and you cannot rely on any of the handrails on any of these steps both in and out of the buildings, they will move if you put your hand on them. When we moved in, we were told that every unit would be deep cleaned, but I was finding cigarette ashes throughout the bathroom for the first month and a half, even after cleaning the bathroom twice a week. There was mold on the toilet and floor in the bathroom that I had to clean, putting myself at risk. Save yourself the regret and unhappiness and pay a few extra bucks to live somewhere that you will be happy in.

For anyone looking to move into Stonegate Woods apartments be aware... 1.) there are two washers and dryers in one building, yet only one of them work and this has been ongoing now for over 6 weeks with no updates to fix or replace it from maintenance. So this has left multiple, multiple units and families with one washer and dryer for everyone to use. 2.) the laundry room is always really dirty and floor is constantly soaking wet and smelly. 3.) you get one designated parking spot for the unit that you rent and then street parking, but everyone just parks where ever they please, even in YOUR designated parking spot that you pay rent for if they feel like it. Or next to you, in no parking spot with one inch to spare for you to get in your own car. Management does nothing to enforce towing or anything to secure your parking spot even though you pay rent for your unit and your parking spot. 4.) There is also 3 visitors parking spots, but one spot could be occupied with a single car for over a month without moving, and there is no enforcement to correct this. So if you have family visiting, don’t guarantee they will have anywhere to park, except the street and walk to your unit. 4.) Management is almost impossible to get ahold of at any point unless you start getting angry and desperate. Like once my unit went multiple days and 3 maintenance requests later without a working stove/oven before it was repaired. So for days I couldn’t cook for my 5 year old son. I’ve submitted so many requests and emails and phone calls about a certain maintenance request for my unit and it has never been fixed to this day and I will have been here for a year in May 2020. We were promised a new A/C unit in the front room, that has never happened. When I first moved in, it was freezing cold for several nights and the heat was off in all the buildings, so tough luck. Neighbors dogs just constantly, constantly bark. The person in management that I have mostly spoken to when I did, is extremely nice, but the management as a whole is very, very poorly put together and you will be left feeling helpless with no urgency for your living needs.

I live in the B/C building and there is roaches, smells like smoke all the time, when I use the washer I shouldn't see a dead bed bug shell on the washer, there is so many problems here and nothing is being done, absolutely horrible we need our old property managers back, these bugs should be getting taken care of and they aren't. Don't ever move here!!!!!!!! There are more people than should be living in apartments and that's probably why we are receiving bugs. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY RUN DOWN PLACE DON'T MOVE HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in this building and it is infested with cockroaches. New landlord took over 2 months ago and isn't doing anything to get this resolved.
