Property Ratings at Capital Pointe by OneWall
I have only been here for a month but just to clear things ups I lived here before when it was called Stonebridge and it was excellent I won't lie !!... it must have been run by diffrent staff .. now capitol Pointe is another story I've had roaches flying ants now remind you it's only been a month
I rarely write reviews unless I really think it would help someone to hear fair assessment. I am rating this property as poor, primarily because of the pest/roach infestation and thin walls. Let's start with the positives. (1) Rent is affordable - compared to similar size apartment. The size is fair for the price. (2) Outdoor maintenance is average. I've been here about 4 months in the fall. They kept it somewhat clean, and they did a great job right before and after a brief snowstorm. (3) Management is initially responsive. (4) Plenty of closet space. For the negatives, (1) roaches are plentiful. If you like to keep a clean and minimal apartment like I do, it won't make a difference. There are many holes for pests to come in and out of. Management will provide regular pest control if you request it. If you decide to move here, make sure they did a treatment prior to your move in - this is required by law. Also check out the apartment thoroughly for evidence of pest. Request pest control as soon as you move in, that might help a little. If that sounds like a lot, it is. I am already making plans to leave at the end of my lease term, the pest issue is hard to stomach - literally. I feel sick almost all the time now. I keep my apartment below 68 degrees, meticulously clean, and I still see roaches occasionally. It's exhausting. I wished they had been more forthcoming, honest, and kind. (2) The outdoor trash bins almost always spill over, and trash gets everywhere. If you have the pleasure of trash bin view that too will turn your stomach. (3) The walls and floors are very thin. I can hear my neighbors have normal conversations. During heavier weekend, the slamming of the front door often wakes me up at night. I know when my neighbor comes home and goes to sleep... as I hear it all. (4) While normal wear and tear are expected, there's clear evidence of larger repairs or overall condition have been neglected. They put minimal effort into upkeep. (5) Bad reviews. Please DON'T ignore the pattern of bad reviews. I did. It was a HUGE red flag. This site is the only place where the reviews are great. Check out several other sites. You will see a very different picture. (6) Another issue is a disregard for providing proper notice and feedback. These are often grey areas. Capitol Pointe in Harrisburg leans closer to a slumlord property than landlord. If you are looking for long-term housing, quiet, and a clean safe home, my advice is to keep looking.

worst place I've ever lived, horrible management, 0 stars
Scheduled an online tour and had to call because no one showed up. Was met with a resounding "we do not offer that service". Even though it is listed on their website and they personally sent me a link for the tour. A Saturday morning wasted. I can only imagine how much of a mess they are with their current residents as well.
I have no issues whatsoever I’m happy with the place I never had any issues with the management they actually work pretty fast on solving any problem for example my refrigerator stop working I call the office they send couples of guys to look at it they couldn’t fix it..they brought me a brand new refrigerator the next day.I’m ready to sign up for another year!
This apartment is the worst place I have ever lived. My oven has been broken for a month and I’ve had to call 10+ times about it. Today I received an email stating that a maintenance technician attempted to enter my apartment to fix my oven but he could not due to my dog being out, I received this email at 3:23. I work weekdays 9:30-5 and during that time my dog is crated in a closed bedroom. So did the tech actually attempt to enter my apartment? doubtful as he would have then known my dog was crated. Also, I did a maintenance request for my microwave as it did not work.. no one ever came out to fix it yet the work order has been closed. Worst place ever.

You don’t have to believe me but you can come here and see for yourself we haven’t had AC for this whole summer of 2020 even with me calling and stopping by the office multiple times half of the times they don’t even pick up and just hang up right away I have called for them to fix some stuff that needed repair and it would take a long time for them to show up and rarely came.
Every two years this place changes management like clockwork. Every single management team has treated it like a portfolio piece and sold it as soon as possible. Maintenance is a complete joke if you’re even lucky enough to have a work order “fulfilled”. Otherwise, they leave you to your own devices. Do not live here. You are safer on the streets and there are better amenities.
this property management team suckssss! Apartments comes with washer and can’t even use the cold water . We lived here for 2 months and still can’t use our washer . Frustrated. I would never rent here or think of renting here ever again
I live here for 10 years and this is the worst administration. The manager very proud of her title but does not solve the residents' issues. The reports of the needs of repair or change of appliances are made and for everything it is the same answer "unfortunately I do not have a day we are working other priorities. And like that the months come and go and they do not fix anything. Do not spend money on moving to this place because they will regret it.
They couldn’t care less about your issues. My entire ceiling was tord own in the bathroom and replaced. Months later the paint is peeling and the ceiling is cracking. I requested it to be fixed and 4 months later it’s still not fixed!!. They give you the run around all the time, my door knob on my bathroom door is broken and they won’t fix it, the knob on the stove is falling off and will not stay on no matter what. The water turn brown randomly. This place is horrible and I can not wait to get out of here!
Don’t rent from here the apartments are trash no working AC but you pay for it on your rent no working heat but you pay for it on your rent my bathroom door been off the hinges for about 3 months now still not getting fix nothing ever gets fixed in a timely manner
What you get for the rate is awesome! It's in a really convenient location, especially if you don't drive. My apartment is spacious and has lots of great light. Maintenance was super friendly when they came by and they seem to really care about doing things right. The girls in the office are considerate and love when I bring my kids in to visit! Great place!

Moved in to find rotten fridge. Called in for the oven which wouldn't turn on/stay on, took 6 months to get done.

I live in an older unit so, it seems like they don't want to do repairs to it. Had a rotten fridge when I moved in also.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS BELOW. before you pay the deposit and application fee they are super nice and helpful. but as soon as you sign it they treat you like they are doing you a favor to let you live here. Infested with bugs and pest control does not fix anything Staff takes months to respond and give you hard time to fix stuff. they are rude since made in 1970s, the building are deteriorating and no staff to fix it when i moved in, there was dirt and grime. they did not clean it at all list goes on

We're sorry to hear this feedback. We want everyone to be happy and comfortable in their homes, so please give us a call so we can discuss your concerns and make things right. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
I was always told that you get what you pay for so when shopping for apartments, I thought this held true. Stonebridge had the biggest price tag compared to the other options around Harrisburg I considered, so I figured it had to be nice if the rent was so high. NOT the case. I constantly had an infestation of bugs more specifically, thousand leggers, centipedes, silverfish..whatever you want to call them but it was horrific. They offer a complimentary exterminator to come "take care" of the problem if it exists so I took advantage. First of all.. it didn't help. At all. If that wasn't enough, the exterminator was SO rude and basically told me to stop being dramatic and gave me some sticky traps thinking that would solve my problem. Nice. I also had a really bizarre infestation of ants and some sort of flies that invaded one night before I went to sleep. I literally considered getting a hotel!! Long story short, I was disgusted. So disgusted that I moved out a month earlier than I had left in my 9 month lease, and even paid rent in full for the month I wasn't there because that is how bad I wanted out. Upon move out, I got SLAPPED with a $200.00 bill (shouldn't be surprising because of all the hidden fees and pointless charges I experienced here). I tried to dispute some of the charges and CAITLYN from the leasing office was absolutely awful. When I brought up all of my bug issues she had the audacity to question why I didn't call the exterminator.. meanwhile I did at least once a month, even had him coming once a week at one point until he told me I was dramatic. So check your records! Bottom line, this place is HORRENDOUS. Between the charge after charge after charge, rude leasing agents, and bug infestations.. it should be closed down. I'm also pretty sure it is government subsidized housing which I asked before signing my lease and they told me it was not. So because I was a great tenant who paid my rent in full and on time every month and shut my mouth about (most) of my issues, I got screwed.
This place is a very corrupt apartment complex, they tried to say my future family had pets when they lived there and took them to court and wouldn't give them their security deposit back and charged them extra. First off they never owned a pet, and secondly the apartment looked better then it did when they moved in, I should know I helped clean the place!
I have been living at the Brook since Feb, 2016 and I feel so comfortable, just like owning my own home. The grounds are kept very well, rental office people are friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great place to live.
This is my first apartment and so far it's been awesome. I get a lot of space for a really good reasonable price! The people at the leasing center are so helpful and so sweet.
Property Manager at Capital Pointe by OneWall, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review. We're so glad you have called the Brook your home for your first apartment and that you're enjoying the experience. We also appreciate your comments about our staff; we aim to provide top-notch resident interactions! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the front office. Best, The Brook at Colonial Park Team
Convenient access to shopping, restaurants and major highways. The apartments are older, but fairly well-sound proofed. They offer large bedrooms, decent sized living rooms, but not much in the way of storage closets, and small kitchens. Not a lot of cabinet or counter space if you enjoy cooking. If you choose an 'upgraded' apartment, be aware that it may only include a washer and dryer in the kitchen. You must be certain you are getting the right apartment with upgraded kitchens and bathrooms. Rent is fair ($700/mo) for the size of the apartment, however they just began charging for water and sewer each month, approximately $30 extra each month. So all utilities are paid by the tenant (gas for cooking, heat and dryer, electricity, water, sewer, cable) except for trash. Woohoo... Maintenance is friendly, office staff is nice. They have a small fitness center in the leasing office. You must pay for a pool pass...even as a resident! Not bad for the almost 2 years I've been here, but with rent increasing each year and nothing to show for it...I'm looking elsewhere for a more modern apartment.
My apartment is the perfect place for me! The Brook at Colonial Park has many different accommodations for what anyone is looking for, like studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms. There are apartment and townhouses, depending on how much space you need. My apartment is the perfect amount of space for someone living alone, complete with a sizable living room area, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, washer and dryer. There are patios and balconies, depending on what floor you live on. Also, the pricing of apartments is one of the best competitively priced within the area, making your money well worth the stay. The community is quiet; I have no disruptions from neighbors and enjoy being on the back end of the complex, away from the "hustle and bustle." The apartment complex community has great leasing office and maintenance staff, a pool, playground, well-kept grounds, and plenty of space for taking a walk or riding your bike. The Brook at Colonial Park is nestled around many amenities including parks, banks, libraries, shopping centers and restaurants. The Brook at Colonial Park is a great place to live!
