My wife and I toured this community before signing a lease and it seemed very nice, clean apartments with manicured landscaping. Apparently we didn't look closely enough. The apartment moved into was in terrible condition: pet hair EVERYWHERE, dirty carpet and appliances, dingy fixtures. No one in this community cleans up after their dog and management does nothing to enforce it, so it feels like the landscaped areas have more dog poop than grass much of the time. My wife and I also no longer feel safe walking our dog here because so many dogs are off leash and aggressive (against the rules but another rule that management doesn't enforce). In the end, my wife and I felt lied to by this community and are now trapped in a yearlong lease.

When I moved out of these apartments, I did a walk thru with property manager and left a forwarding address. Never heard anything from them until I get a call from collections 8 months later. Very unprofessional. Look elsewhere if you are looking for an apartment!

These apartments are indeed self-rating! I agree with the lady who reviewed earlier this year with that comment. The pool sucks, there is dog poop everywhere, overpriced for the run down interior of the apartments, and there's never any parking. The company doesn't know what they are doing. And don't even think of ever calling corporate because they don't care either.

We're so sorry that you had a less than wonderful experience with our property. We'd like to add that the interior of 60% of our units have been completely remodeled including upgraded lighting, granite counters, faux wood flooring and window treatments. All interiors are getting these same upgrades as they come available. We've also completely overhauled our pool area to include a newly resurfaced interior, new tile and brand new furniture. All of these pictures are available to view on our community website as well as here on Apts.com.
I’m really not sure how this place has so many 5 star ratings, unless of course — they’re self rating. *insert eyeroll* I’ll wait to give more details when I move but this place is NOT 5 star worthy. Maybe 2 stars. But I’ll leave you with this. Move in was the most unorganized, treacherous experience. More details in the future. Office staff is meh, kinda friendly - but not super professional nor helpful. You can only have internet through the service provider of THEIR choice. For the longest time, they made you sign up with Broadstar (they’re horrendous and also WTF is that?). It was like $88 for some low quality speed that was always spotty. Now you have to sign up with Suddenlink and I’m honestly surprised that there could be a service worse than Broadstar. The transition was horrible. They gave a few weeks notice to get switched over and then completely cut off the old service. That brings me to my first 48 hours without internet service and the installation process was awful. Here we are a few weeks later and again, we are without internet (fairly certain the entire complex this time). And instead of management being proactive and COMMUNICATING that this was a complex-wide issue... is spent 45 minutes on hold with suddenlink for them to tell me that. And the pool is “shut down for maintenance” for the 24th time this summer. Do yourself a favor and don’t live here.

We made the decision to switch to Suddenlink after receiving numerous complaints on Broadstar's services. Suddenlink is a local and very reputable company who is known for it's customer service. Change is never easy and there is always possibilities that hiccups can arise. We did provide our residents a 30 day notice that we would be cancelling the Broadstar services and had several events where Suddenlink reps were on site providing information to our residents. We're sorry that you missed those events. However, we are not aware of, nor have we been told of any property wide outage. Please reach out to Suddenlink to address this. You may contact our dedicated rep, Rob Washington at 806.433.1401. He's been a great asset to us during this transition and will be more than happy to address any concerns you may have with your Suddenlink account. Our pool is currently open. We were closed for a week towards the end of August while we awaited vendor repairs on our emergency pool phone. We do operate our pool following all city and state regulations that govern swimming facilities. If at any time it is not safe for our pool to be open for any reason we do make the decision to close it down until repairs have been made. We value our residents and want to assure they are able to enjoy the use of our site amenities safely. Again, thank you for your review. We welcome the feedback.

This place looks so much better than it did when I went to look for apartments in November!! I toured this yesterday and I fell IN LOVE. ALSO, there is a whole new staff here and they are THE SWEETEST GIRLS. Last time I came, I felt like a burden to everyone. Definitely moved this to the top of my list for moving in September!! :)

Went on a tour of the property and was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The pool looks amazing and with new furniture looks great. Have a few other properties scheduled to look at but Stonegate has jumped to the top of my list!

These apartments are very overpriced for what you get. The tenants walk their dogs and do not even pick up after them. Causing you to step in dog mess every day. The water heaters are constantly leaking causing major water damaged to apartments and furniture. They won't even reimburse you, they make you get renters insurance to insure something they are responsible for. It's ridiculous! Big updates are needed to the water pipes and water heaters.

I lived in these apartments for 3 years and it was a bad experience. The managers never seem to stay. Every year it’s a different person, high turnover rate shows major instability. I tried contacting corporate and they do not even call back. The upkeep on the property looks nice, but once you actually go inside the apartments or live in one it’s a different story. The new manager is the same as the old manager. I doubt she will last long also. Don’t waste your time here.

I have lived here for over 15 years and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The people working here are friendly and helpful. The property is always kept up and improved. If I have a problem ( which isn't often) they take care of it in a timely matter.
was enticed by the move-in special, which was a lower rent for a 12-month lease than market price. ($849 instead of the 920). The complex is maintained adequately and the management is friendly and helpful. However, for me, there is one huge deal breaker (which they don't inform you about until you are signing your lease paperwork). The internet/cable provider is a company called "Broadstar". There is no other option available to residents here. The service is much more expensive than comparable services from suddenlink or AT&T and they force you to rent their equipment for an extra charge, even if you have your own. The owner must be getting a sizeable kick back from the arrangement. There is a consistent 8-20% packet loss at all times. It makes netflix frustrating, computer gaming frustrating, and online coursework almost impossible. If internet connectivity is important, stay away. Other than that, the layouts for the rooms are strange. The 2 bedroom unit is almost as much square footage as a 3 bedroom. But the 2 bedroom layout is far superior. With the 3-bedroom unit, the patios are almost unusable since the living room wall juts out into the patio area and makes it much smaller. The kitchen is decent, but the bathrooms are unnecessarily large. The bathrooms have the light switch on the outside, so if you have roommates, they could just turn the light off on you during a shower. The closets are really small. I went from an apartment with 1 walk-in that held all my clothing to having to use all 3 bedroom's closets for my clothes. Ultimately, I will be looking for a different apartment because internet is an important factor, but had that not been the case, I would be fine with the oddities.
I have lived at Stonegate Apartments two different times. When I initially moved there it was from out of town. Management went above and beyond to help me get into the apartment I needed. They even went as far as to help me with getting things underway with what I needed to get my children in school. The staff is very friendly and host several community events every year. They have also done great with renovations. A new swimming pool area was completed this past year and now currently undergoing painting and some other project. I have lived in there one bedroom and a three bedroom apartments both being very nice and spacious. Location is excellent and located right down the road from one of the top elementary schools in Amarillo. Stonegate is very kid and pet friendly.

I have lived here about three months and could not be happier! Previously I've lived in several apartments around Amarillo and have never lived in a place as nice as these. Not only does Stonegate have an excellent location for me, but the staff couldn't be nicer. My roommate and I met with Tash and she answered all our questions in a professional and fun manner! The maintenance guys are wonderful too! Currently they are working on updating the place and it looks fantastic! They take pride in their establishment and the surrounding grounds. There is more than enough storage capability in every floorplan and parking is great. I have no complaints and couldn't recommend this place enough!

I have been living in these apartments for a few years now and I have not a single bad thing to say about them. The ladies at the front office are always very helpful and johnny on the spot to get things done, the maintenance crew is always there and willing to fix anything that I need in my apt. There are a few things that have needed to be fixed around here (ie; the workout room) but all of that is being worked on as we speak, and this place is starting to look better than ever. I love living here and I will continue to live here for many more years.
Fitness center, if you want to call it that, is ludicrous. The seat on the all-in-one machine thing is ripped and uncomfortable. There used to be 2 treadmills, and now there's only one. Since I've been here, one treadmill has been broken (and since been removed). The other treadmill broke within a few weeks after I moved in, and I've told the management about it (around July or August 2013). Nothing has been done. I stopped using the apartment's fitness room because it was doing the job it was supposed to. I joined a gym, but my membership expired a month or so ago. I am shopping around for a better gym. I went to use it recently (on March 2014) and the same problem occurred. The problem: Treadmill stops suddenly without warning. The emergency stop key is still inserted, so it's not that being removed. I was told by a maintenance guy that it was because the treadmill is working too fast and it will stop if the belt is moving faster than it should. I do not run very fast (9.5 - 10 minute miles), so that should not be a problem, especially since there are some people who run faster, at 6-7 minute miles. The maintenance staff either doesn't know how to fix it, or the management is not willing to shell out the money to get the equipment fixed or replaced. Don't believe them about the fitness center part of the amenities the apartment offers if that is one thing that is important to you. I've left another review a while back on another site, and my opinion hasn't changed. Maintenance takes forever to fix things, and will only do it if you keep pushing the management to get the maintenance out. Parking lot roads are not smooth and now have lots of holes. Dog excrement is everywhere - tenants don't clean up after their pets and there doesn't seem to be someone from the apartment that makes sure it's cleaned up. I avoid going to the office if I can. They put on fake smiles and and seem welcoming, but it is obvious they would rather you not approach them, probably so they don't have to do more work than they need to. Gated complex, but they tell you to give the gate code to your friends and visitors - anyone has access to the complex.
