Property Ratings at Stonegate Apartments
Decent starter apartments I have lived here for two years and am going on my third. The price of rent has gone up each year I have stayed here. Most of the things in the apartment are old and outdated such as the doors and appliances. There is only one washer and dryer for 12 units which is not nearly enough. That have been updating some stuff such as the parking lot but they do so at very inconvenient times, like when the road leading to the parking lot is also under construction so you can’t even park on the street. Staff seems friendly for the most part but contact with them is minimal.
Property Manager at Stonegate Apartments, Responded To This Review
While we appreciate your feedback and kind words about our staff, we are disappointed to see that you have not been fully satisfied with your experience. We want to be sure to do what we can to enhance your experience going forward, and always welcome you or others to share any ideas they may have with us. Thank you.
Don’t expect your security deposit back. The staff will find every single way to nickle and dime you. We left our unit better than we moved in, were charged cleaning fees. The unit didn’t even come with bulbs and we were charged for them!!! The pet “fee” isn’t a security deposit, so any additional damage doesn’t come out of the $600 deposit you put down. On top of that you pay an ADDITIONAL fee of $60 PER MONTH.

I lived here a year and will be ending my lease because I can get a house. But I was a little upset that when the main girl left that when we got a new gurl she questioned my cat being an ESA and why she was one. I’m sorry that is NOT okay. All my information on my cat was on file. She had no right to question me. Also, Back in oct. I had adobminal surgery and due to the surgery I developed a breathing condition that caused me to get a Handicap temporary ID for my vehicle. Denise the main lady told me not to park in the handicap stall because there was more people in my building that needed it more than me. I’m sorry she had NO right in telling me where I can and cannot park especially when I had a medical condition containing to my breathing when I lived on the top floor and climbing the stairs made it hard for me as it was since there was no elevstoes in the buildings. Even though it said that no dogs were allowed my neighbor told me she had a dog in her apartment (as a customer where I worked not knowing she was my across the hall neighbor) and every now and again I hear that dog barking (it is a yapper). I don’t think management even tried to do something about this either. There had been several issues of people BLASTING their music and blaring their bass in their vehicles at 5am when I am trying to sleep with no help what-so-ever. They did nothing. They also did nothing much when other residents were smoking pot on the premises. It took me calling the non-emergent police number for some action. If you want a place for quiet I do not recommend living here. But other than that this place is alright.
If you are looking for luxury, then is not the place for you. However, if you want a decent place, quite, rent is priced well, and close to everything, then this is it. The apartment itself is well maintained. The manager told me that they are updating all the apartments and the one we got was updated, but it was an okay update. The doors in the apartment are a bit a old, but well maintained. The kitchen appliances are bit old, but again well maintained. The apartment features a small balcony and is about 850 sq ft. The carpet however is just awful looking but it is new according to the manager. Each building has a 1 unit washer and dryer; this is the part we didn't like. Seems like everyone washes their clothes in the evening. Now the best part, the location is really good. Close to almost every store; Meijers, Walmart, Kohls, Target, Sam's Club, Costco, Walgreens, CVS, multiple furniture places, etc. Tons of restaurants to choose from also. The grade school is just 5 minutes walking distance. And most importantly, the Kenosha Outlet mall is 15 minutes drive. Chicago is 1 hour away and so is Milwaukee. The location also features a Metra train station and it is about 10 minutes drive. Looking at the whole picture (Location, apartment, rent, management, school), I would say it is good; cant complain. Good Luck in your search and I hope you find my review helpful.
This place has been getting worse every year, Im disabled, in wheel chair, and now even the ground is sinking, Im worried about my health, and they gave up on this place, soooo sad,Fixed the bottom bolts on toilet, three dudes here, Its still rocking and i have one leg and weight all of 160. lol what if i weighed 300? Im looking for a new place, but all for ppl like me ...hope someone disabled wins.i realize i wont win, but my best to who does.
Apartments are a good size. Each bedroom and the living room have individual thermostats which comes in handy in the winter! Neighborhood is quiet at night. Close to a good Elementary school. Close to lots of shopping! They have one washer and dryer for 12 apartments. There's insufficient parking spaces that are near your building so you might have to park on the opposite side of the building at night. Another bad thing is the office staff aren't nice when they're actually in the office, they've had their office hours severely reduced. Still it's one of the more cheaper options in town and it's in a great location!
