I have had nothing but problems since moving here, but sadly with the rent situation in Austin and the sudden death of my mom, it was a "beggars can't be choosers" situation for me. When I first came here, I requested a 3rd flr apt, but was told the apt I was wanting to rent #934 wasn't available to show (even though I was set to move in in 8 days) and they pulled a bait n switch on me when I put the deposit for #934 only to then be told it was for sale and not for rent and they only had a 2nd flt unit available. Desperate not to be homeless I settled. The apt was not move-in ready as promised as it had a hole in the ceiling in the kitchen, was not cleaned, several lights were not working, the dryer connection was waaaaay outdated, and the AC did not work. Had to battle it out w/the front office for a new AC and went 10days w/no AC before they could get a new one ordered and installed. They did not install it correctly, so I came home to a flooded bathroom one night after work and sat there w/wet carpet in my bedroom until 2am while emergency maintenance attempted to fix it (they didn't, black water leaked from a pipe into my bathtub and it took 3 more visits for them to cut out a hole in my closet to replace a pipe that was the problem and then I had to have them come back to fix the hole they made in my closet!). After that it was my garbage disposal not working (no cover, so it sprayed everything everywhere the first time I used it and took two complaints to finally get a new one put in), my front door had to be sealed when water leaked in from the sidewalk cleaning, not to mention the continued problem I have had with roaches (I am a very clean person, so all I can guess is they were already there or coming from the slobs next door). Also had a terrible upstairs neighbor w/a hyperactive large dog that management did nothing about regarding my complaints even after they threatened me and when he filed a complaint against me, that's when they wanted to have a "sitdown", but put a violation on MY lease! The management here is the absolute worst! They never answer the phone and they do not address your issues and try to go around them. Blanca especially; she suggested I clean my garbage disposal out by hand when I told her about the smell!!? Also, the people that live here are rude, noisy, and dirty! For the price of rent here, you are better off paying the extra money per month to live in one of the other complexes because this place is a slum!
when i first moved in, the ladies in the front office seemed to care about the residents. as they have gotten new employees the quality has gone way down. i have had several maintenance issues that took weeks to get taken care of. one of them was water leaking into my kitchen making a bubble in the paint and water in the light fixture, i had to go in 3 times to get it fixed.
