Property Ratings at Stonewood Village
Reading some of the reviews are misleading I love the complex it was amazing four years I had no issues, If anything did happen to the apartment they would fix it very quickly thanks to Melissa the manager. It’s a very quiet ,clean ,safe , comfortable community. I do have to say rent does increase yearly but other than that it’s beautiful place to live in !
Chose this location for its covered parking, gated community feel for safety, and ease of access to freeways. The grounds and shared community spaces are always kept clean by wonderful and friendly workers. Melissa, the apartment manager, is friendly and always very helpful. I docked one star because I feel the pictures of the 1 bedroom are a bit misleading. At least for the apartment I was in, the cabinetry and countertops were not as nice or new, the stove and fridge were not stainless steel, there was no microwave, the windows are very old and drafty, and the gap under the front door was so huge that dust and bugs were constantly getting in. I docked another star because the walls are THIN. You hear your neighbors and anybody walking in the hallway. If you're a light sleeper, I would be wary of that. The apartment complex tries to keep on top of their overall maintenance, which I think is great that they're investing in the space, but that also means increasing rent every year. Our new lease (had we renewed) would have cost ~$250/month more than what we originally came in on (there was no move-in special or discount), which isn't too terrible, but water/sewage/garbage was also passed on to us to pay for about 3 years into our time here. Overall, nothing bothered us enough to make us move (although one terrible neighbor came VERY close); had work not forced us to move to the other side of the country, we would've stayed until we saved enough for a house.
I have lived the Stonewood village apartment for more than 5years. I had good memory of this place, which is safe security systems, clean, quit, good handy services and kind next door. I can easily go to downtown and orange county. Specially I am very thankful to manager who is Mellisa, she is very nice person and lovely lady.
I decided to move here because I have a high school and an elementary school children. Both schools in this area are awesome, my kids love them. It’s walkable to restaurants and the mall. I love the fact that they care about my safety and installed the viewing hole on my door as soon as I requested. I always feel safe here. The property manager, Melissa is great! Everything I needed done was taken care of really quickly. Totally recommend this place!
Beautiful apartment complex with all the amenities. Big bonus was Melissa and her staff. Professional and courteous beyond words.
Beautiful Peaceful complex to live. I was here for two years. Unfortunately I had to relocate for work. Melisa apartment manager is amazing. Excellent customer service. The facilities takes care of any issue right away. I highly recommend Stonewood Village. It’s a perfect location to call a place home. Stonewood mall, Downey Landing, Promenade, and groceriesDown town Downey is near by. You don’t have to leave Downey to have it all.
This place is beautiful! Also the staff here are super friendly! I want to give a shout out to Melissa! You've been amazing! Thank you so much!
I lived at Stonewood Village for 8 years and always felt safe. This apartment complex is located in a good area of Downey. It is close to the mall, trendy restaurants, freeways and good schools. It's mostly families and working professionals who live here. Neighbors are very friendly. My apartment was spacious and modern. Considering the area and size of the apartment, I think they are reasonably priced. The Property Manager, Melissa is professional and has open communication with residents. I'd constantly get memos on my door of what was going on at the complex. I appreciate the transparency.
Worse place ever ..never returned deposit ask for your information to sent another bill BE CAREFUL, when you ask questions no one know anything or retuned calls . Not happy I don’t recommend this place 0/10 sorry that I didn’t pay attention to previous reviews and they were right .
My wife and I lived here for 3 years and it was such a great experience! The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very attentive and accommodating. The manager, Melissa, was always eager to help, whether it was getting us a closer parking spot or holding our packages when we were out of town. The apartment we were in (a 1 bedroom) was larger than most and was set up nicely. The complex is always quiet, we never had any issues with noisy neighbors. We had to move because of my work, but would have happily stayed here for many more years!
From making an appointment to view the apartment to actually moving in has been an excellent experience! The property manager Melissa has been so considerate and answered every single question we had. Everything was straightforward and there were no surprises during the entire move in process. Moving is stressful itself, so that is why we appreciate everything Stonewood has done for us during this process.
My husband and I lived for 4 yrs at Stonewood Village Apt. The whole apartment complex is safe, peaceful and quiet. Cleanliness: The whole apartment complex is always kept clean. Ramiro cleans the whole place from Monday to Friday. The pools are frequently serviced too. The trees are trimmed maybe 2x or 3x a year. Safety: Even without frequent reminders from the management, I guess it is common sense to never leave personal belongings, keys and gate opener in the car AND never prop open gates and doors for other people. So yep, never had problems with safety. We have left our cars for 2-3 weeks time when we went on vacation. We never had a mail or package stolen. I locked myself out of the apartment few times and I asked the manager to unlock the door for me ‘coz I will be home late. She just unlocked the door- that’s it. She didn’t open the door and went inside. When they do maintenance in rooms and the residents are not home, they leave a note in the door saying they went inside the apartment. Management: I’ve never had problems with the managers, both Rosemary and Melissa. They were attentive to our requests and needs. I once called Melissa at 3 in the morning to report something, she picked up her phone. She will order repairs ASAP when needed. She strictly enforces rules for everyone’s safety and convenience, which we appreciate so much. It’s probabaly not easy managing 150+ units, but Melissa is doing definitely doing a great job!
I lived at stonewood village apts for 3 years.I never had issues with the neighbors, everyone i came across was very respectful and friendly . As for management, melissa has been great at managing stonewood village. I once had an issue with my refrigerator and melissa immediately replaced it with a new one. Maintenance keeps the place clean. I will definitely miss living there.
I moved in a couple months ago and couldn’t be more happy. Best property I’ve lived at. Melissa and Teena have been wonderful. Made my move her very easy. It’s very calm and peaceful. Love the inside courtyard landscape with streams and waterfalls. Grounds are kept very clean. I highly recommend this property.
The complex is ok. The manager Melissa is rude and she is usually not there. People will break into your car and expect yearly rental raises. Find somewhere else to live.
Let me start with the good. Downey is a nice place to live. Apartment complex is well maintained. Now the bad. The manager Melissa is almost never there. She works like 3 days out of the week and when she is there she takes like 2 hour breaks. You better make sure you close your car otherwise someone will break into it. Also pretty much every year they will raise your rent. This year they raised 100 dollars since they now make you pay water and trash.
I love living here at Stonewood Village apartments. Manager and maintenance are wonderful. Grounds are always kept up and any maintenance issues are always fixed fast. Melissa has been so helpful and kind. She keeps us informed of everything going on with the property. I really appreciate that about her. I've worked in the property management industry myself and I know just how hard and demanding a property manager works. There is only one of her and hundreds of residents in this building but she runs it very well. It is very peaceful here considering there are about 150 apartments. All the amenities here are kept very clean. I plan on staying here as long as I can. Thank you Melissa!
I am writing this review regarding the management at Stonewood Village Apartments, and specifically, the manager Melissa who has been an exceptional manager. She is friendly and extremely professional. She is always courteous and prompt in my dealings with her, and eager to help with any routine maintenance needed. Also, the maintenance staff, led by Guillermo, is always friendly and prompt as well. The complex is also very quiet and peaceful.
I want to give this review based off of my experience with management at Stonewood..I moved in and was helped by Melissa in the office. She was extremely warm and pleasant, also organized with all the availability in the complex. Management was very important since I have a family and needed stability. I was in a place that was very scary to me and wasn’t sleeping well. I came to Stonewood, applied and it’s been a great safe experience. My car is safe, my apartment is safe and my children are safe. This is an EXCEPTIONAL place to live.
In the past two months there have been breaking into the garage twice. They have broken the windows of the cars and stollen properties and management did nothing about it. This is suppose to be a secure building but even the cameras are not working so they could not help the police in identifying the thief either. When I asked them about their responsibility to repair my car they said there is nothing they can do and just contact your insurance like my insurance is going to fix my car for free without raising my premium. This is really ridiculous. Stay away from this place
One of the best and safest places you can live with your family. The staff is friendly and work hard to keep the property clean and in order. The landscaping is beautiful and the staff is fast to respond to anything that is needed. Also, the amenities are a plus and you should definitely take advantage of them.
Just wanted to take the time to thank Melissa the Manager here at Stonewood Village. She's always been so prompt to situate any issues big or small. I love living here.. having a maintenance and management crew lead by her gives you that peace of mind every tenant should have. Thank you!
I've been living here for 10 months and its been nothing but a positive experience. The Manager Melissa is awesome! She is so sweet and professional, always dispatches your maintenance requests immediately. The Property is always clean, and pretty safe and secure. Overall this is a nice apartment complex to call home.
I moved to Stonewood Village 7 months ago. Melissa (Manager)has been amazing since day one. It was difficult moving over the holidays but Melissa made everything run smoothly. She made sure that all the renovations were completed by my move in date. I love the property. It is quite and secure. The grounds are very well maintained. Besides the beautiful appartment and grounds, what sold me on Stonewood Village was the amazing customer service that I received from Melissa.
The manager has no people skill she’s the only downfall for the Stonewood village Apartments
I lived here 3years and this was my experience. -Clean very well maintained with nicest maintenance crew. maintenance issues fixed and done right. -Very well secured with camera. Never had any security problems. Garage well lit and maintained. -Management very professional and nice, anything I needed they took care of ASAP. -All residents are nice to each other, strike a conversation with anyone no problem. -elevator made life easy, club house, theater, pool side BBQ place, well maintained. The only downside I had was no extra visitor parking and no elevator in garage. All and all VERY nice place to call home, I will do it again.
the building and amenities are nice..but if you don't want a rent increase every year..stay away!!! this is my last year here. I've been here 2 years already. plus the managers are the most unwelcoming people that I have ever rented from. they just look at you as dollar $$ signs.
