Johns Island sits on the South Carolina state line just south of the Charleston peninsula and is bordered to the north by the Stono and Wadmalaw Rivers. As the largest island in South Carolina, Johns Island encompasses an array of island living options and popular Lowcountry destinations. Upscale, modern apartment complexes and historic single-family homes can be found closer to the north of the island near Charleston.
The southern reaches of the island don’t lend themselves very well to large-scale residential development because of the surrounding marshland. However, the marshland is what makes Johns Island a hotspot for seafood and Lowcountry cuisine in general. Boating and fishing are wildly popular on the island, and many residents enjoy waterway access from their very own homes. The Angel Oak Tree is a popular tourist hotspot. The 60-foot-tall oak has a massive canopy that evokes the classic look of Lowcountry living.

Love the community. Only complaints are leasing office can be hard to get ahold of (can hardly ever reach via phone). Additionally, gym needs cleaning wipes for equipment after use as these are never stocked

Move-in was easy and welcoming! Apartment layout is great and feels cozy. The corner balcony is huge! Love the amenities. The pool is a great size and location plus there’s also coffee, ping pong table, and trails. So close to so many restaurants and other things.

Cigarette butts everywhere on the ground in the courtyard by our building so you can smell the cigarette smell if you are sitting out there. It's a smoke free property. Marijuna permeates throughout the building hallways, and our on balcony numerous times. Neighbors blast music day and night that you can hear in your entire apartment. Mail gets lost and put in other residents mailboxes.

The apartments are very nice and very spacious. The community is clean. The clubhouse is a nice amenity. The gym is convenient. The pool is relaxing. This is a super solid apartment community. It checks all the boxes!

Clubhouse was filthy last 3 times coming in for coffee. No papertowels. Nothing to clean up what the very last residence's mess left. Food on chairs, food debris smeared all over island. Coffee spills all down the door to leading to clubhouse. Been requesting for months to have cleaning materials there and nothing done after being told by management there would be. I had to go to women's room, take out papertowels and leave them in the clubhouse cup holder for next user. Trash can next to the game table has food smeared all over the outside. All other apartment complexes I viewed in Charleston were always stocked with cleaning supplies under the sink. I was told several times an Amazon order was being placed by PM. Lack of good office property management.

Community still developing and improving daily. The staff is very helpful and present. There are many green areas for walks and lots of parking. Nice swimming pool and common area.

Had no issues moving into my apartment. I received amazing assistance from the management team before my arrival. They do a great job of providing information needed to set up home internet and electricity.
Everything has been great so far minus my ice machine & water not being hooked up in the refrigerator and dishwasher. I feel safe here and happy I could move in as soon as possible

Brand new apartments that are very comfortable and friendly staff. The units are bright and the amenities are nice. The club house has meeting “pods” that I use regularly and the coffee/espresso machine in there is very nice.

I rarely give a 5 star but since there's now 4.5 I could only choose 4. The staff here at Stono Oaks is very friendly. Beautiful apartment and serenic view from my lanai. There are alot of amenities here and can't wait to meet more of the community as they move in. So far so good!
This brand new Johns Island property is set among the old oak trees & includes beautifully landscaped areas. You're super close to downtown (minutes away). If you elect to not go into Charleston there are plenty of great restaurants & bars right near the property as well.
The people in the leasing office are always helpful and kind and very quick to sort out any minor issues I had when moving in. The area is beautiful and close to parks, beaches, and convenient to grocery stores and gas stations.
