Located about 100 miles north of New York City, nestled along the Hudson River, Kingston is one of Upstate New York’s most historic towns. Kingston was once the capital of New York State during colonial times and even houses the largest physical remnants of colonial life in the state. This quaint town offers affordable and upscale apartments and houses for rent. Kingston is best known for its old-fashioned, quirky downtown district, also known as Uptown Kingston or the Stockade District. This city center celebrates Kingston’s roots with historical markers, casual eateries in historic buildings, farmers markets, and cultural festivals. Although this town is very different from its New York City neighborhood with the same name, Kingston is about two hours north from NYC, the perfect distance for a weekend trip.

Property Ratings at Stony Run at the Stockade Apartments
“Upgraded” apartment with old tile on walls and floor new stove but didn’t bother adding the stainless steel refrigerator to match the broken dishwasher that falls out and we have to push it in the lighting at night is poor as for someone who works late and doesn’t get home til late at night it’s way to dark out water bill is ridiculous and I’m barely home rent is something different every month and I have to call them not to mention after being here for a month they tried to raise my rent maintenance goes through your things caught them on camera and nothing was done about it also spoke with another younger tenant who went through the same thing she also complained with camera proof as well apartments ARENT worth the money limited parking spots the intercoms don’t work they need to lower the rent take away the water and trash bill make it affordable there isn’t anything luxury about these apartments for the rent to be more than mortgage payments
amenities taken away one by one since we moved in, the pool hasn't been open in 2 years. it's a constant fight to get anything maintained, last year during a freezing winter, we had to fight them to get our heat repaired. the trash stoped getting piced up because the owners 'couldn't afford it'. mold and sewage flowing into some buildings. Our power bill skyrocketed since we moved in, something else in the building was running off our electricity, they refused to have an electrician look at it. our rent was raised more than 15%, with just a couple days notice before our lease was up. if you are a day late on rent, expect to be served eviction papers. nightmare of an apartment complex.
The buildings are moldy and dingy. The management staff is incompetent and dishonest. Since the new ownership went into effect the property has deteriorated drastically . Do not trust this property or their staff.
The rent is too much for LOCALS not for city people.
We have issues in our apartment that have not been addressed in over a year. Sewage/water damage. I wouldn?t recommend the apartment to a friend knowing this has happened to me and my family.
I am getting very old and I cannot do things like I could when I was younger. When it rains a lot my kitchen floods. It has never been repaired properly and I am very frustrated. When it rains and my kitchen floods it is dangerous for me and difficult to get someone to come and fix the problem and mop up the water (I can't do it when I am using a walker). I wish it would get fixed once and for all.
As of today the hallway, stairway, laundry room plus the garage ro are not kept clean.
too many different owners & they don't respond to issues very quickly
Excellent value although routine maintenance lags.
Kingston Porfolio is becoming one of the best places to call your home
Professional and courteous staff. Excellent location.
Spacious apt. Is comfortable. The wood flooring is great. The landscaping is well done and lots of huge trees to add to attractive landscape here. The staff is great and ready to assist in a timely way.
My experience from beginning to end has been amazing couldn't ask for any better team and love my apartment
Id rather live some where where someone can answer the phone and fix a problem. Ive lived two years here and had nothing fixed.
We are new here weve only been here 5 days but we love it so far its a quiet and beautiful place
To date, my experience has been very very positive (with very few exceptions, which is to be expected). I have resided here at 305 Hurley Avenue (under many management changes) for almost 40 years. I look forward to many more and to your continuing improvements and professionalism.
Apartments themselves are in a nice area, great views, lots of bugs inside and outside. Inside of apartments are poorly constructed and barley finished enough to call livable and way too expensive for what they are.
Kingston Portfolio is not perfect or flawless at all, but 9 times out of 10 you'll find what you need and you'll receive a swift, adequate response to your requests, inquiries or complaints.
They are quit to get things done, are polite and answer any questions I my have. They always ask if there is anything else they can do before they leave.
Lakeshore Villas is such a breathe of fresh air compared to the past places I have lived. Has a great community feeling and the onsite laundry is a great touch.
This management company is doing so much better job than the previous ones. The laundry rooms and mail room are always clean, the maintenance team is excellent and the leasing office is available for rent check drop off.
If you need a place to live Kingston village is the best, homey and people caring
In my 4 years at Lakeshore Villas, my heat has been out for multiple months every single year and my AC has been out for multiple months every single year. My laundry has been stolen out of the machine and there have been people outside my apartment slashing car tires. I cannot say enough about how consistently terrible Lakeshore Villas has been.
So far living here has been a blessing. I think everybody for their hard work from Michael in the office to in the office to the maintenance guy Brian for addressing my issues when I move in you will not be disappointed renting from here. This is a truly beautiful place to live.
Maintenance is excellent and responsive ; however, construction renovations are questionable
Well my experience hasnt been great so far, had I known there was very little sound proofing between floors I would have not chosen to live here as I can here everything and when my downstairs neighbors kid runs up the hall my whole apartment shakes the space itself is the only decent part of the apartment minus the tiny bathrooms. Had great light with great big windows. They need to work on the maintenance requests and address the overloaded trash issue.
The apartment is spacious and private. The complex is close to many preserves and the Hudson and, from some of the apartments, you can actually hear the stream running by from your window.
I live in a lakefront apartment at Lakeshore Villas. It is a pleasure to enjoy the tranquility and nature of my lakefront lifestyle. The setting is a rare find and Im grateful to enjoy all the lake has to offer, particularly kayaking.
My experience has been great! The staff has been very welcoming, polite, cheerful and helpful. My apartment is spacious, bright and clean. I like everything about it. Im very comfortable here and very much appreciate the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Thank you!
Affordable, roomy apartment, close to everything in Kingston.
Moving to a complex knowing you do not have to pay out maintenance expense as they will fix is a big help. There is a permanent professional landscaping team here now. Looking forward to it! The office staff is always here and very nice and professional.
The apartments themselves are beautiful, the neighbors are quiet, the sounds of nature are louder than the tenants. Very good location, right between Kingston and Poughkeepsie, about an equal drive either way. Lots of parking
I am so happy with the new owners, its nice to have people who care about the people who live here and treat us kind and respectful.
Living at lakeshore villas is a very nice place to live and to raise a family. The community is quiet and everyone is friendly.
I am very blessed to have the opportunity to live at Kingston village my kids love it here they have so much playgrounds to choose from the atmosphere is so nice the fact that I don't have to come out of the building to do laundry is a win ,the friendly and hard working staff who do there best to make sure the place is clean and safe for myself and kids I just feel at peace when im home .
massive deferred maintainance inside and out, exterior doors not secure, parking is a problem, inept mgmt, cheap rents comparitively but careful what buildings are available. better in phase 2 but still...
Great first time apartment. Wouldn't recommend staying here long term.
