Property Ratings at Sturbridge Townhomes
Sturbridge Townhouse management tried to tell me that I had to give a 60 day notice upon my move out when I turned in my 30 day move out notice. I wasn’t under a lease, I was month to month. No where in the paperwork did it list a 60 days notice. Only a 30 day notice was listed. When it came to maintenance fixing things in the apartment, it took weeks and months to get things fixed if it even got fixed. The maintenance team made a mess and only half did a job. I could go on and on about these apartments.

We have lived here almost a year and have already signed a new lease! It's very quiet and we have had no problems with anybody. The ladies in the office are very nice and helpful.
I had a issue with a water leak and wasn’t able to use my bathroom upstairs for five days. They finally fixed that and had another issue with water coming up from the kitchen sink witch flooded the kitchen floor. I called to get someone to look at the problem and the maintenance man was very disrespectful.
First the apartment they show you is NOT what the apartment you will be moving in look like. First thing when I paid my deposit in July I was suppose to me in in August. The young man that was in the office apologized because he had accepted someone else deposit and rent for my apartment. I was told that I would move in September. I was told I couldn't get my deposit back because it had been over 48 hours! I paid my rent the morning of my move in date ONLY to not be able to get my keys because my apartment wasn't ready yet and maintenance was finishing up. Not to mention I was paying a moving company to move me which charged by the hour. When maintenance was done the apartment was DIRTY. I called the office and they told me that they cleaning crew left and was on they way back because maintenance was still working on my apartment. When the "cleaning crew" arrived it was a young female and male that honestly looked like teenagers. They walked into my apartment with a broom, mop, mop bucket, and Fabuloso. The cleaning crew was horrible. All the sockets in the living room were worn out, cabinet doors were old, dirty, scratched up, and chipped, the blinds were old, dirty, dingy looking, and bent up, the screen to my patio was laying on the ground. They said they didn't have any new blinds but were going to call to order some. I didn't receive my blinds until almost three months later and that's also when they came to put up the screen to the patio, which is still on the ground. Also the paint in the tub was peeling in the bathroom. I informed the office of this situation and it took them three months if not longer to get someone over to fix the issue. I wasn't able to sit in the tub only able to shower. The beginning of the month I informed the office of my tub peeling AGAIN and the sink being clogged up. Maintenance took weeks before coming to take a look. When he finally came he claimed he fixed the sink (lie) and told me he would see what they were going to do about the tub. I still haven't heard anything back. Also I report my dining area leaking water. I was told to not fill my tub up all the way, because when the water drain it drains into the dining area. My hot water heated busted and the ceiling fell on my kitchen table. I had to call them several time about my ceiling before someone finally came to fix it about two weeks later. These apartments are out dated for the cost, the plumbing is awful, maintenance is horrible at fixing ANYTHING!
No cool AC... It was an '80s today.. They have known about this for 2 months. Sweet people in the office.. but like they told me, 'corporate' will not give them the funds to fix things. Worst decision I made in apartment complex living was moving here. Thin walls... water leaks.. break-ins.. I saw the ratings and I thought I can bear with it. I'll save some money. Way worth in living somewhere else $100- $200 more. Renter beware!
I just moved in and love my apartment! Great staff and love the updated apartment. The spacious floor plans are incredible. My husbands favorite things are the amount of parking available and the recycling program. The convenience of the location is a huge benefit and we are enjoying living here.
I love Sturbridge Townhouses obviously for its location. Its conveniently located in area of great restaurants, shopping, and one of the best movie theaters in the city. I'm currently a student attending Heritage College and because of that we got a rent discount. Decent sized pool and helpful staff is something rare nowadays. Great place to live. A
Before we moved in, the neighbors had burned down our back fence. Management told us that they would get it rebuilt immediately. Shortly after we started living there, the fridge broke and would freeze everything that was in it. Management told us that they would replace it. I lived there on a 6 month lease and neither of those things ever were fixed. The apartment next to me was empty, the whole time I lived there. The day I was moving out, they were finally going in and cleaning it out. When I looked in, I could see the place was full of empty fire works. No wonder my fence burned down. When we asked for the deposit back, they refused, because they had to clean the carpets. They charged us for the stains that were there when we moved in. If you ask me, it's just a case of bad management and maintenance.
The staff are very nice. The apartments are ok they just need to be updated for the price. The noise level can be a little more unforced on the weekends. Overall they are ok.
