Property Ratings at Sturwood Hamlet Apartments
I'll start with the good things. Huge for a 1 bedroom, den is a big plus, neighbors very nice. Landlord responds to all inquiries in a timely manner. Thick walls and can't normally hear anything through them, even within your own apartment. Parking is right up front and a very short walk, well kept yards. Super quiet area, very safe. Mail comes right to your door, no far away boxes here! No public transit for miles though so make sure you drive. And now the negatives: Pool is very expensive to use (hundreds of dollars for the season). We frequently get centipedes, stink bugs, and the windows don't seal properly. Dated appliances- the central air can't get our apartment below 78F in peak summer, and the freezer has warm spots that don't keep things frozen. It's all and all a decent place, I just wish it was remodeled.
We were at Sturwood Hamlet for only a year, but it was a good year. The neighborhood is in a quiet area where you'll also see deer. Our one-bedroom apartment was roomy, plus they have storage in the basement behind the laundry room. Christine, the residential manager, is friendly and knowledgeable. The one work request I had was resolved quickly by the maintenance staff, and they also acted quickly on snow removal. Sturwood Hamlet is convenient for quick access to NYC and Philly via 95, 295 and Route 1. Compared to other apartments in the area, Sturwood Hamlet offers a good value for the money.
The apartments at Sturwood Hamlet are perfect! They are the perfect size and they are well kept and maintained. The office staff and maintenance personal are very knowledgeable and are welling to help with any problem. They are the only complex in the area that accept pets large and small. The area is also very quiet and the neighbors are friendly. I would recommend the apartments at Sturwood Hamlet to anyone looking for comfortable and up to date accommodations.
Great place to live nice and quiet maintenance is great and the manager Christine is so helpful and nice highly recommend living here.
My husband and I moved here because this is one of a handful of complexes that allow large dogs. We have two full size dogs! It was great the first few months we lived here, we had a few issues with neighbors parking sideways to save the spaces but that was resolved. The price we pay a month and the size of our place is fantastic! We haven't really needed maintenance, but they all seem very nice and helpful from what we got. We're in the townhouses and the parking is TERRIBLE. According to the woman in the office each apartment/townhouse gets two spaces, and going by that theres not enough room for everyone. We usually end up parking in the street, which is a quiet street, but I don't pay to park in the street. Parking is also for residents only. If you have friends over they are supposed to park in the street. Not many people seem to be able to understand this, which gets annoying when you come home and theres cars there. The woman in the office was nice at first, but seems very unhelpful when things are brought to her attention, and now has a rotten attitude. Neighbors seem nice, and theres not much noise we can hear except when they cut the grass and stuff. A few other reviews mentioned cops come here often, we haven't really seen any police activity. The grounds are also well maintained. * I would also be vigilant about your neighbors as ours are subletting which is against the lease and feel the need to take up parking spaces for the actual RESIDENTS. So please make sure to read any lease you do end up signing! Overall, I would recommend Sturwood Hamlet but I would not suggest moving into the townhouses by the pool and tennis courts.
I have to say that we have just moved into Sturwood Hamlet and I love our place the only thing I wish we had that would complete it would be a washer/dryer but overall its spacious for us and lovely. Christine has been wonderful and very helpful from the very beginning. Since we just moved in we have met some neighbors and they have been very friendly which I like that alot. The area is quiet and something I have to definitely get used to since I lived on a busy road most of my life. My son saw our new home and said it was wonderful so I am definitely happy we picked this property. Hope it everything works out.
