A mere six miles east of Huntsville, University/Research Park hosts one of the world's leading science and technology business parks. Central to the area's economy, Cummings Research Park brings together Fortune 500 companies and U.S. space and defense agencies with the best and brightest from local universities to create a premier center for research and technology. Townhomes and condos form the bulk of the rentals, meaning there’s something for families, students, and professionals alike.
This area has become a research hub for both government agencies such as NASA as well as private corporations including Lockheed and IBM. The abundance of research jobs in addition to the local educational institutions created the need for housing to accommodate the workers, students, and educators.

Property Ratings at Summer Crossing
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL! Terrible experience the entire time living here. Heat and air hardly worked. Leaks all the time. Had to keep a bucket right in the door entrance to catch the drips. Maintenance took forever to fix anything and most of the time didn’t even fix the issues. There was a shooting in the apartment next door. The pool was green the entire time we lived there. The shower was replaced in one bathroom and it was left in terrible condition with nails sticking out (see pictures). The filter hadn’t been changed since 2018. The vent fan didn’t work in one bathroom causing mold to grow, and we were told to “shower with the door open”. Then when we moved we were charged a ridiculous amount in fees. Terrible, terrible, terrible experience.
I have lived here for two years and have had a perfect experience! Maintenance was very friendly and quick to get the job done! Management was very friendly and very understanding on rent payment when tragedy in a family occurred. It is in a great neighborhood and very close to the University of Alabama in Huntsville for any students looking for off campus housing. Rent is very affordable. Summer Crossing has progressed so much since previous management and have only progressed more and more. 10/10 would recommend. - William Mozley
My friends and I ran into the problem of having to move off campus for the rest of our time at UAH. We were so thankful to find Summer Crossing; great prices for a wonderful property. It's very close to campus and the management is very easy to work with. They helped us through everything as this was our first time trying our hand at renting an apartment, and explained everything to us. Not to mention the apartments are spacious and the package deal that you pay with rent is killer. 100% recommend this property, especially for first time renters!
This complex is trash and so is management! Do not spend your money with these people!
I moved into this 2 bdrm townhome in Aug. 2017, I read the below reviews about this apt. complex and I would like to set some things straight. First, my job which is a DOD company, wanted to relocate me here in Huntsville,(on a very short notice). I contacted this property via their email, I also contacted a couple more properties, I only got a call back asap from this property, I told them my dilemma, and they actually worked with me (which is very rare for apt. management) to get me into the apt. on such a short notice, when I moved in, I expected the apt. not to be at all up to my standards, but I was surprised, the apt. was Very Clean, I had or have no maintenance issues what so ever. The property management team is GREAT, and they work hard. I love my townhome, and I have a lot more space than I imagined. So for the below reviews let me say something..Ceiling falling in?? I don't think so, the management team would not allow that, and plus that's a violation, Mold in your shower?? Maybe you should clean your bathtub once in awhile, I can just imagine what the rest of your apt looks like since you don't clean. Huge pest problem?? Management has a company that comes once a month and sprays for pests, since I have been here I have only seen one spider inside, so no not a problem here. Now for the checks missing issue, when I drop off my checks to the office for rent, they always ask me if I need a copy for my records, so no problem there. (Maybe this person just forgets to drop off the rent.) Gun shots in the middle of the night?? I have not heard one gunshot since I have lived here, the only noise I do hear is sometimes the firetruck or ambulance on the main road. I have never written a review before, but I wanted to set the story straight, this complex is under NEW management, and they work very hard on this complex, so if you want a very nice apt with a lot of space and a caring team this is the place. This management team, maintenance, and house keeping team are awesome. Truthfully check it out for yourself.
I recently moved into Summer Crossing and I love it here. The managers and maintenance are always helpful and prompt. I have had some issues with small maintenance things and they are always fixed right away! I also had a problem with noisy neighbors and the manager took care of that and I have not had any problems since! I love that they have security patrolling the property at night and that it is always lit up after dark. Now that we are getting parking decals, the parking should be a lot easier too! I would recommend them to anyone that wants a nice, well managed place to live!
I have been here for about a year now and absolutely love it. Its close to everything. Just what I was looking for. The staff is awesome, they do everything they can to help the residents and get things taken care of in a timely manor. I definitely recommend these apartments.
I moved in here in the beginning of march of 2017. After living here for a month has been amazing. The staff are really nice and friendly, the apartments are well maintained, clean and nicely remodeled. They handle maintenance requests quickly and efficiently. haven't had a single problem since I've been here. Located really close to major shopping areas, fast food options and other fun attractions close by. Highly recommend for any college students/young adults looking for a quiet, clean place within walking distance of UAH.

I just wanted to thank you so much for your positive feed back.
The staff is never here. The rent checks 9 times out 10 are "missing" and then they try serve eviction notice. Ashley is nice but no matter how much you call you don't get called back. There is something live in the walls. I'm not one that likes gun shots in the middle of the night annd police running around. The place is being "remodeled" and is a mess but not much has changed
This apartment complex is very unique in how they handle building/town homes. The town home is spacious, however this apartment complex has a huge pest problem. The town home that I am renting, the ceiling is abut to fall in and the bathroom shower is growing mold around the tub. Beside the spacious town home the apartment complex is not worth the money they charge.
Quail Pointe has been my number 1 choice for years. Its reasonable priced and has large cozy rooms. It's location could not be better.Only minutes away from major shopping outlets, schools and great restaurants.Landlords are great and very understanding and also the neighbors.
