We just moved in a couple of weeks ago and the staff here is very welcoming and caring. The maintenance has been quick and they fix thing right. They do a wonderful job even with the snow removal.
We have been living here since March of 2018. Just like living in any other apartment community, you will have some adjusting and growing pains. There will be issues that will arise once you move in. Any issues I have had were addresses immediately. JoDee and Molly have always been very responsive to any requests I had, and I truly feel like they care about me as a resident. I would suggest this community to anyone I know. One small suggestion would be to update the appliances to a high efficiency style ones.
From the very first contact, the managers have been so amazing and kind. I absolutely love them! Took care of me and my family right away. Apartment is beautiful!!!! THANK YOU for making this transition so perfect!
I have been a tenant here at Summer Place Apartments for 1 year and have recently signed on for another 12 month lease. Throughout the duration of my tenancy I have had to place very few trouble tickets. When I have, Thomas has been the Service Technician that has responded. I must say that he has maintained a very professional attitude. He is very prompt, thorough and efficient. I certainly feel assured that should I experience any maintenance issues in the future that they would be handled in the same proficient manner. I would also like to thank the office staff for their hard work and dedication to the residents. It is not often in which you find an office manager who cares for her residents and property as much as JoDee does. The apartments are spacious, fully equiped with ALL appliances and clean at move in. The landscaping is well maintained, and the community is quiet, well lit and safe. It has been an absolute pleasure living here at Summer Place Apartments and I look forward to my continued residency.
My husband and I have lived a total of 2.5 years. We loved it so much that we moved back in after a period of trying another rental. The apartments are well kept and are so conveniently close to all the granger/Mishawaka amenities. The staff are friendly and work hard to take care of their renters. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone who is seeking a safe, well kept apartment complex.
THE AIR DOES NOT WORK THEY PUT THE FANS ON LOW SO IT NEVER TURNS OFF AND RUNDS YOUR BILL WAY HIGH. THEY ALSO RIG EVERYTHING AND THE STOVE AND DISHWASHER DONT WORK RIGHT. THE CLOSET DOORS ARE NOT FUNCITONAL. THE FLOORING ITS SELF COMES UP AS IT PUT ON CHEAPLY. THEY DONT OFFER ANY RESOLUTION TO ANY OF THEIR ISSUES.
I have lived in a handful of apartment complexes in college and early career, by fat this is the worst apartment ever. First of all, as you read on other reviews, the main office staff is impossible to reach. When you finally get a hold of them, they will make excuses and delay. After I moved in for a month, maintenance staff finally showed up for the first time, one entire month!!!! I had open nails in the drawers, AC is not working, windows won't close, paint marks on the floor, you name it, the apartment has got it! Apparently I'm not dying in this environment, so the staff cannot care less. I literally called 5 times during the first month to get those things fixed. And guess what, I still have flawed windows, and the room is over 80 right now. Also, it is close the I-90. If you search on the map, it's right next to it. Which means the highway noice is going to keep you awake all night! Of course the staff won't tell you this, they only say how convenient it is to get on the highway. Is it? No, the closest exit is 10 min away due to the road structure. The only thing you are truely close to is the noice zone. I am new to this town, this was the only place that was available during the time. I cannot wait till my lease ends, searching for new apartment now!
I have rented here for 3 years now and never had a problem. The maintenance staff does a fantastic job. The property manager tries to make everyone feel welcomed. About 4 months ago they got a new girl in the front desk. She is incompetent insulting and likes to blame her mistakes on the renters. I had a maintenance issue that was left broken for a month and when i went to complain she stated I never said anything. I received a warning letter about not being complaint with rules that the front desk lady acted like she had no idea what i was talking about when i had to point out they are mistaken. I went in for a new security card and even with the property manager saying yes i requested one and even though I signed the paper the day they switched security systems she still had to tell me that i did not request one. After informing the manager i will not deal with her any more and i will only deal with the manager she still tried to run her mouth. The manager told her to stop but she still managed to run her mouth while i was walking out the door. Its amazing that the only issues i have had has been since the new girl started but according to her it is my fault. If you are looking for a no hassle and pleasant place to live then don't choose here until they get rid of there new problem.

Don't believe all of the good reviews you read about Summer Place. Tenants were encouraged to write good reviews in order to be entered into drawings for gift cards. Ultimately, the place is overpriced with amenities comparable to neighboring complexes that charge $100+ less a month. None of the appliances are energy efficient which resulted in $240-320 electric bills this winter and the thermostat was set at 60! The management's response to our concern was to recommend we put plastic in the windows and to change the furnace filter monthly with their "complimentary" filters available in the office. Your housing budget is best spent elsewhere, otherwise invest in electric blankets!
