Midway between Winston-Salem and Raleigh (roughly one hour’s drive to each), Burlington is an all-American community that looks fondly at its history while always working toward an even better future. In addition to the woodlands all around the city, several community parks and outdoor recreation areas provide ample opportunities for sports, hiking, swimming, boating, and more. Burlington City Park’s beautiful antique carousel is one of the city’s major landmarks, and forms the centerpiece of an annual music festival.
The community has done a lot of work to make the downtown area something special, with historic buildings, great locally-owned shopping and dining, and a 15-square-block area with free public Wi-Fi access. Downtown apartments have direct access to all of this and more within walking distance. The collaborative spirit runs deep in Burlington, and residents have no shortage of opportunities to take an active role in their community.

Property Ratings at Summerlyn Place
The apartments has a lot of pest control issues! Maintenance is under staff so it takes them a while to actually come fix the problem in your apartment! Sometimes the staff ignores your request or forgets to put in the maintenance request. You’ll be better off finding a different apartment to live in!

We are sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We value our customer's opinions and would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention.
I have been a Resident here for a while now and I have office staff come and go but for a while now the ladies that work in the office have held tight and made a sound structure for this community and I appreciate every aspect of what they do. They produce Resident Events, monthly newsletters, are very informative to what is happening around the community. The Maintenance has had a rocky start but are finally getting it in order also. I know it takes a lot to run a community and i believe that the staff we have right now can do it and will do it! Thank You Tangela, Allison, Teron and Gorge for all you do to make our community a great place.

Thank You so much for the kind words! We appreicate you chose us for your forever home! Summerlyn Place Mgt.
Unprofessional throughout my stay. When I first moved in I was consciously watching myself going in and out of my apartment as we had a drug dealer who openly sat outside on the bench smoking and drinking daily. Voicemails were left about this but were never communicated back. When I first moved in, I had flooring that was coming up as well as blinds that were either destroyed or not working. Not only did they not get fixed but three months later the maintenance team asked me by the pool if I was still waiting for the eyes. First off, that is creepy that they can recognize who I am by my identity and associate that to my apartment. Second off that was three months after the request. From there I lost all hope in this complex. Now as they have transferred ownership, they have posted letters on our door which I did not even have a paperclip on mine so I never received it, along with an email describing that they will not have online payment options. I emailed in regards to this during working hours and was not told until the day prior that it was due by money order war check or I would have the late fee. Within the same week I have had the toilet above me flood into my apartment. As someone who has the flu and vertigo at the moment, I’ve been told that if I don’t get the money to them that I’ve had all along and have been more than happy to give to them if they had services that worked correctly, and I would have to pay that. So now I am driving to get them there well deserved money as I am happily leaving in April when my lease terms. I have paid for an overpriced and unprofessional apartment for much longer than I’d like these past twelve months. I chose this apartment in a pinch because they had open availability when I was leaving an awful situation, I regret choosing this apartment And understand why they had the availability now.

Good Afternoon, I am very sorry that whoever this was to made you feel that way. As of June 2019 we have a full new maintenance staff and have corrected any previous issues that we had before. If you have any questions please contact the office at 336-586-0040. Thank You Summerlyn Place Mgt.
I just moved in and so far and so good. By far the best communication from the office than any other place i have lived. It seems like they have a good staff now, In the beginning it was rocky but the foundation did not crumble. My apartment was by far the most spacious in Alamance County. The Office Staff is very open and wonderful. The only issue I have is pet waste. i have addressed the issue with the staff and it was addressed accordingly

I would not recommend moving here. I've tried my best not to complain, but it's hard not to. Let's start with the first day I moved in. I walked through the apartment and prepared the repairs checklist. 3 or 4 things needed to be repaired so I put it on the list. Everything on my list the maintenance guy attempted to fix, he broke something else. One example: the towel rail inside the bathroom was missing the pole so he drilled 2 slanted holes below the the missing set and pulled the other set out and left the holes in the wall. After calling him back for weeks and no answer, I decided that I could live with a few things out of place because I don't expect everything to be perfect. Fast forward to the first winter freeze. The heating system didn't work and the maintenance guy actually said that he doesn't know what's wrong with it. After months of having crappy heat, a new maintenance guy joined the crew and discovered that my heating system was running the heat and AC at the same time. He did something to make the heat come out stronger but next month my Duke energy bill was $566. I called the maintenance and I was told someone would call me to check out my issue and no one called. I'm stuck with high Duke energy bills. Guess what??? My lease is almost up and guess who leaves a letter on my door with a rent increase of about $40? It's all about the money here. Don't get fooled by the renovations. They just slap paint on and make the pervious tenants pay a $80 fee to management for a professional to clean the unit which I spotted a cleaning "professional" smoking in the unit while she cleaned it. How nice? In a smoke free community. I would like to mention to be careful if you're tap water tastes funny. It may mean that you have a busted water tank in the unit. The old one in my unit just leaked out and when it was replaced it tasted better. Bigger is not better!

Good Afternoon, I am so sad to hear that this happened to you. Since June 2019 we have all new maintenance staff. Please call the office @ 336-586-0040. Summerlyn Place Mgt.
I have had several issues with the renting agency, as well as with my apartment. What they don't tell you, is that, because the past owners took the awnings off the windows, the windows leak. Anytime it rains, its rains in the sunroom. I am not renewing my lease here because of this. The maintenance team here is amazing though, if you have an issue they will try to fix it to the best of their ability. Even with the windows, they have tried to block it up, but they really need to fix the window situation if they want people to stay in their complex.
I have been living here just a little over a year and I can say this is a great place to stay. Management is great and they know their clients. I would recommend this place for anybody!!!!
Lived there for one year, spacious room, but roommate would not share living space evenly. Should have left after 3 months. Had to consistently ask management questions and run around in circles as we would never receive notices for deadlines or issues going on. Water was behind for months on their end and payment was inconsistent each month. Old manager left without telling anyone and new people had to pick up slack and catch up with everyone which caused much frustration. Documents and files were "lost" many times over. The rent is too high for this kind of service. Nice, safe, kind of quiet location, close to many public areas in town, but overall, not worth the trouble. Gym machines hardly worked. Pool was almost always closed. Outside maintenance men were creepers to women and consistently changed. Paperwork never was accepted or looked at by management. TWC was consistently changed rates. Worst place I've ever lived. Realty houses a bunch of jerks. The whole town of Burlington is not a very nice place to live. Even the shopping is horrible. You're better off living somewhere else.
From the management staff to maintainece staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming you to the neighborhood. One of the most customer service and friendly community staff I have had the pleasure of meeting.
I constantly mistake myself for royalty because of where I live. My apartment is my castle. My bedroom is my throne room. My children live like a prince and princess in their massive bedrooms with large open windows. The gated community makes me feel guarded and secure, giving me comfort to walk my royal hound at night. I don't plan on going anywhere, because a Queen never abandons her castle.
I have loved living at Summerlyn Place for a year now and yes it feels more like home than I've ever felt. Being that it's an actual aprtment. Wonderful community and friendly customer service.
