We have been residents for a long time and love our apartment. Maintenance is great. The office has went through changes but I really like the new employees as they have been pleasant and helpful each time I’ve come in the office with my dog.
This is a 1 star rating only because I can't give 0 and we also really appreciated the maintenance crew over the years, even though they had absolutely nothing to work with in terms of budget. They should all get a raise weekly for what the management puts them through. Here are a few of our experiences that hope to sway you to look in another direction and you never rent here. This place has the worst front office I have ever seen, especially with new management. They never call you back, nor do they take ownership for anything that goes wrong. This place should be condemned or turned into 1 star motel, because Luxury left when got near the complex. We once read that it's a place if you don't mind the constant visitors, meaning the bugs. Ants, cockroaches, gnats, and others are everywhere and you get charged a monthly basis, whether they spray or not. The screens, windows, closets, bathrooms, kitchen, lights, rugs, and everything is just nasty. They spray paint the cabinets so your dish-ware gets stuck to them, you can't open your windows because of the constant smoke (not just cigarettes). Oh yeah, mold is everywhere too. Do not rent here, do not visit, and also, don't SWIM in the pool (Nasty as well). Luxury Apartments is the funniest thing I ever heard. LMAO...

We appreciate you taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention. We value our residents and although the community has gone through a management change, the office staff is always available to address any concerns that may arise. We encourage you to stop by our office to speak in person regarding the concerns mentioned.
Girlfriend and I have lived here for about 9 months and are overall very pleased with the property. Very responsive maintenance (Carlos!) and friendly office staff (Mary and Stacy!). They also have cleaning staff (Rosa!) who regularly cleans the elevators and common areas. The office also hosts a community event at least once a month and do a great job engaging with the community. The facility amenities are good, the pool is not huge but it is large enough to swim laps if you want and is not very crowded even during peak summer hours and holidays. The fitness center is open 24/7 and has the basics for a workout. There are parcel lockers for secured for deliveries like Amazon or larger USPS packages. Centralized mail boxes. The elevators are a nice amenity, we’re on the 4th floor and moving in was a breeze as well as normal coming and going through the day. We have not had any bugs what-so-ever in our apartment and if need be there is an exterminator that comes once a week. Parking spaces are not assigned, but are plentiful around my building. We also have a garage (optional $) for extra storage and parking. The apartment itself has been updated with granite counter tops in kitchen/bathroom and we had new carpet in our apartment (super nice) and updated appliances. Full sized washer and dryer also included. The closets are a little small, nor is there separate lighting inside the closets but manageable. For the most part, we have wonderful neighbors and made several new friends. Some are inconsiderate, but that’s just people being people. Welcome to community living. The walls are thick, don’t hear the neighbors too much but every now and then someone wants to test out a surround sound. Across the street is a nice village of shops that has pretty much everything you could want (Food Lion, ACE Hardware, salon, a few pubs/restaurants/ice cream) that is easy walking distance. And of course, the greenway system (Abbots' Creek to Neuse River) is accessible, a huge plus. Only real downside I have is that this apartment complex is not a smoke free environment. We live on the 4th floor and unfortunately our downstairs neighbors (3rd and 2nd floors) take alternating shifts on balcony cigarette smoking which prohibits us from enjoying the balcony (or opening windows). In my opinion I think smoking should not be allowed on balconies as I consider it a common area since the balcony decking has gaps and not fully “enclosed”). Other than that, really like it here.

Over a year later, still a five star place to live. The staff is wonderful, they have been attentive to the few issues and maintenance needs that have come up and they worked with me during the renewal process to help manage expenses. The location is wonderful, I am close to everything I need and want. The entrance to the greenway is around the corner and there are shops less than a block away. I was concerned about thin walls when I moved in, but I honestly hear very little. I also enjoy a bit of white noise so if you are like me, a little background noise feels normal. The unit is beautiful, I love the updates the company has done and one of the nicest parts of the unit is having a fireplace, it warms the place up faster than the heater on winter days. Only con I have is that the company likes to do community events, but schedules them during the week prior to 6. Anyone who has a 9-5 is hard pressed to attend and I’d prefer they did them on the weekends. The siding on some of buildings also looks a bit weathered and could use a good power wash or repaint, but that’s minor. There is a dog park, if you’re a dog parent, but it’s more like a 5x12 cage. Again though, the greenway is next door for your 4 legged friend. Oh and before you look at reviews mentioning bugs, know that if you live in NC, bugs come with the territory. I’ve had to kill no more bugs than I would if I lived in a house. The value for money is great and I plan on staying here a very long time. Check this place out before going to other apartments!

I have lived here for over a year now. My particular unit had some maintenance issues In the beginning but the office fixed it quickly. Parking can be minimal near my building. Overall I love my unit, the design and location is great. Good stores nearby.

My story of living here is a horror story. Upon attempting to move in my girlfriend and I learned that it is common practice at this complex to not run the AC systems in unoccupied apartments to cut costs. As soon as we walked in the stench of mold was unbearable. The HVAC system itself was almost totally fouled with mold. We complained to management who did some things to mitigate the problem, but it was nowhere near what was actually needed. We have tried to live here and put up with it, however, recently our hot water heater sprung a leak thanks to management not actually maintaining them. By not maintaining them, I mean this fossil was 15 years old when a water heater of its type has a max lifetime of 12 years. Finally after this happened management started taking the proper steps to remediate our apartment to eliminate the mold. This process included putting up plastic sheeting to contain areas deemed hazardous by a mold/air quality testing company, ripping out multiple walls, and ripping out a floor. I would say we appreciate these efforts, however, since our apartment has been torn apart for a month, we haven't been given alternative housing, and we have been informed that even more needs to be done we consider it more like a nightmare. The sad thing is that all of this could have been avoided if management had just given this place reasonable maintenance over the years. To compound things, management switched over recently and the new team has been rude, unhelpful, and at times downright shady. If you are looking for a place to live in the Raleigh area I strongly recommend steering clear of this place.

After scheduling an appointment and confirming the date and time, I came from out of state to tour the property and get more information. When I got to the leasing office there was a piece of paper taped to the door stating the office was closed. I never received a phone call or email informing me. I'm very disappointed with this property, especially after they stressed how necessary it was for me to schedule an appointment. I really would hate to know how actual tenants are treated here...

I have lived at Summermill for over 3 years, it is a great apartment with nice facilities. The office has some room for improvement when the new management company took over they let go of the best employee there which was very sad. The pool is nice and well kept and the grounds are maintained very nicely. I live in a one bedroom which has plenty of space and the high ceilings make it seems very spacious.
My apartment is the best place to leave, It have the best employees and much beautiful and peaceful naborhood, and also professional in there jobs, they respond to work order as fast as possible, the apartment is well taken care of, i will recommend anyone looking for an apartment and a safe environment
Great Location! Near local supermarkets and great eating places. 2 Bedroom 2 Bath that has a very open floor plan. Elevators in each building which helps for the apartments upstairs. Gym, Pool, and a Movie Theatre! Cozy living area and a warm neighborly feel. Feels right at home!
Great location..lots of unique shops nearby. Good restaurants! Convenient to everything! I have lived here for over 11 years and the new management has finally priced me out! I'm very sad to have to be moving but that's big business for you. The girls in the office have become friends over the years so I will not only miss the wonderful home I have made here, but also the great people that live and work here!!
