Eleven miles northwest of Philadelphia, Roxborough’s convenient locale provides residents easy accessibility to city attractions in a charming, yet modern neighborhood.
Prior to the 1854 Act of Consolidation, most of Roxborough was part of the Roxborough Township. The area was a thriving and successful textile mill, which helped fund many of the community’s schools and parks during that time.
Nestled between the Schuylkill River and Wissahickon Valley Park, there’s plenty of natural green space and settings to go around. Locals enjoy fishing for trout at the park, and going on evening walks at the Manayunk Canal in their free time. Many delicious and trendy restaurants encompass Ridge Avenue – but a popular, no-frills eatery is Dalessandro’s Steak, a cheesesteak shop by the Walnut Lane Golf Course.
Residents are comforted by their direct access to Interstate 76, SEPTA bus and rail services, and Thomas Jefferson University East Falls Campus.

Property Ratings at Summit Park Apartments
Biggest problem is safety. There have been many thefts and even an apartment robbed at gun point. Management does not put money into the safety of their residents. They refuse to install cameras or locks on the building doors. Air conditioning also continuously breaks when it’s gets hot. They are very dog friendly and don’t have breed restrictions. There are great neighbors but management does not care about the residents and it shows. Not worth the money.
The apartments are priced well for the area, and the utility package is a really good deal, considering how high electric bills could be. Maintenance is pretty responsive, and the amenities are great. They have an active social calendar, even during covid-times. That being said, we've had multiple issues with extremely noisy neighbors, and it doesn't seem to be addressed much. I understand you will hear some noise in an apartment building. Thats to be expected. However, when we can hear the neighbors screaming and playing music loudly from two floors above us, it seems a bit excessive. We've tried going through the channels provided with courtesy police and informing the Leasing Office, but other than a reminder about quiet hours and respecting your neighbors, no further action seems to be taken. Just know that the vents carry noise and the ceilings aren't insulated well, so you're going to hear it if you have noisy or heavy stepping neighbors.
My fiancé and I absolutely LOVED our time at Summit Park! The location is convenient to everything you want and need in Manayunk and Roxborough. The amenities are fantastic, the clubhouse and pool can’t be beat. Not to mention the dog park is great as well. The staff is super helpful and responsive, in the event you need any assistance or maintenance. We moved out as our family expanded but will truly miss our time at Summit Park.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We are thrilled you loved living at Summit Park. Best wishes in your next adventure!
My fiance and I lived at Woodmere for a year and had a great experience. It was a good apartment complex for our first apartment together. Very affordable! The amenities were awesome. They planned events all the time. Utilities were a fixed rate which is a m a z i n g. We had minor problems here and there, but management always responded quickly. I was worried about having Hotwire for internet because of the reviews - I work from home and almost never had issues. Linda in the Woodmere office was excellent and helpful from start to finish.

Hello! Thank you for your 5 star review! We appreciate your kind words about the amenities, Clubhouse events and Hotwire. We will be sure to pass this review along to Linda.
Summit Park is a nice idea, but not well executed. The price goes up $30 a year, but the buildings are beyond old, the windows leak cold air in the winter, the water has been turned off multiple times, you can only get DISH for cable which goes out every time it rains, and the leasing office doesn't mention any of this. There are other apartments nearby for a better value.
My boyfriend and I have been living at Summit Park for the past 4 months. We are both recent college graduates and were looking for an affordable and nice apartment in Philadelphia. After having past rental experience in the Philadelphia area, I have to say the rental process at summit was a breeze and the ladies in the office were very accommodating and kept us up to date during the entire process. We were able to obtain an apartment that hit everything on our checklist including a two-bedroom unit, an updated kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a top floor unit. Since moving in, we have ventured to the clubhouse, which is a nice place to grab drinks with friends, and they hold multiple events there. Summit Park also has a gym, an indoor and outdoor pool, and even offers exercise classes, which is amazing because they are all included. Since moving in, we had to call maintenance a few times for minor problems in the apartment, and each time they came out within the next day to fix them. What really sold us on the apartment complex is the fact that utilities are a fixed rate each month and included in the rent. A tenant can use as much heat/air and electricity as they desire and not have to worry about a costly bill at the end of the month. For our busy lifestyles, it makes it very convenient to pay everything on one bill each month. Summit is also right next to the Andorra shopping center, which contains an Acme, Kohls, Petco, Rite Aid, restaurants, and many more stores which is very convenient. So far our experience here has been great, and I would recommend Summit Park to anyone who is looking to be close to center city at an affordable price with great amenities.
I have lived here for over 1.5 years and know how horribly this place is managed. First, when your neighbors take a shower you hear a high pitched squealing sound. Second, the windows are not insulated so you feel the cold winter air blowing into your apartment. Luckily, heat is included in your rent because during the cold winter months you will literally need to have the heat set at 76 degrees or higher. I can stand 5 feet back from the windows and feel a generous breeze blowing across my feet. The washers and dryers are poorly taken care of (not sure what our rent money is used for). I washed a baby blanket and it was literally sucked into a rust hole in the dryer that I did not see and was shredded! The blanket was damaged beyond repair. The washers are always leaking water all over the place and when it rains the basement will flood - I have had to walk through water that came over my shoes just to do the laundry. There was a time that an alarm kept going off in the basement and my husband and I went to see what the issue was since maintenance never came. Water was literally running over the electric panel box. It was raining hard outside and the water came in through a part of the wall and was pouring over the box. We reported it since it was a fire hazard and the way maintenance resolved the issue was to put a black garbage bag over the box. The indoor pool here is great to swim in, but women beware that you have a high risk of either having a man come into the locker room and peek at you or sexually assault you. The doors to the women's locker room are always propped open and when you close them the clubhouse manager (I believe her name is Lainey) will yell at you because the doors lock. There is also a door that goes from inside of the gym into the hallway between the pool and the women's locker room. It would be super easy for a man to go through the gym and exit out of it to go into the women's locker room. On Friday (January 20, 2017), I was in the pool and was resting and literally saw a man do the very same thing I just described. I had made 3 complaints to the lifeguards and the clubhouse manager and they never listened to me! I had to go into the main office for anyone to understand how that is a huge safety concern. There are times lifeguards never show up and management doesn't even know because no one checks in. Then you can't use the pool, which is completely unacceptable!
I had a hard time finding a place that was close to the city that was reasonably priced, until I found Woodmere apartments. As a first time renter, I was worried about the fluctuating costs associated with renting, such as utilities. Woodmere’s all-inclusive flat utility fee was extremely helpful with both managing my monthly expenses, and allowing it to fit in my budget. The maintenance at Woodmere is top notch and the grounds are always kept. The amenities are by far the best in the area, and offer a great place to meet new people. Woodmere’s calendar full of activities and its close proximity to shops, restaurants, Manayunk and Center City, offers countless opportunities for an enjoyable night out. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants quality living at an affordable price.
I don't have any major negatives to post about Summit Park. My first minor incident occurred shortly after I moved in when someone drunkenly threw a beer bottle though the 2nd bedroom window of my apartment (luckily no one was in that bedroom). I believe the incident could have been handled better, however, I've had no real problems since. There are tons of pros for this property, although, due to my busy work schedule I haven't had the opportunity to take full advantage of them in the 11 months I've been at the apartment. Pros: -indoor & huge outdoor pool -nice on-site gym (plus classes) -on-site clubhouse with parties and great drink specials (although if you're new to the complex you will probably feel like an outsider for the first few months you come....just bring your own friends) -shuttle bus to manayunk (and sometimes city and conshy) -all utilities included (no worrying about paying a bunch of bills each month, one payment has you covered) -TONS of closet space...that alone is making me re-think my move -a nice sized balcony Cons: -The apartments are old...I believe some of the units are being re-done and the kitchen in my unit will need some work very soon. Nothing horrible, but, old appliances, closet doors that fall off of their tracks, lots of layers of paint on the cabinets, etc. -location could go both ways...it's near enough to things you need like the grocery store, but, for the prices you pay to live there it's pretty far from the city (Hour long bus ride or $30 uber ride if you don't want to drive) Due to the convenience of the apartment complex if I could drop my rent by a couple hundred a month I would stay, but all in all, because I don't have enough free time to enjoy all of the amenities that merit the apartment's rental costs, I'm searching for a better priced option. Hope this review helps :)
It is in a safe and nice neighborhood of Philadelphia. The amenities are very nice and includes indoor and outdoor pool, gym, clubhouse, cafe and bar. The apartment comes with off street parking but it can be hard to find a space at night. Their is always plenty of street parking. The rent includes central air, heat, water, electric and cable with HBO! It can be a great place for young adults as well as families. Most neighbors are very friendly. However the rent can a bit pricey, I have had packages stolen and some neighbors get loud and drunk on the weekend. Overall, summit is a great complex for Philadelphia and is close to shopping and the city.
Parking can be annoying (my lot is always full) but other lots always seem empty. Walls come painted a cream color, it's a nice little touch rather than plain white. The clubhouse is alright, nothing special, but it does its intended job and is a cheap night out. Living near the clubhouse can be bad because of the intoxicated people walking by, being load and obnoxious. Laundry rooms leave much to be desired, but they usually aren't busy. I wish they would install the key fob entry on the common front door, it would provide added security. Apartment door locks are solid. The surrounding area is quiet and has lots to offer within walking distance. I feel safe walking around at night. College atmosphere.
This apartment has been everything I have wanted/needed. It has a pool, gym, bar, tennis courts, and more. All of these you can access for free as a resident. The bar has great specials! My favorite aspect is the fitness classes available at no extra cost. Really a great deal. The amenities are included in the rent so there is no shocking extra bill each month. The apartments themselves are rather large and have good closet space. As a recent graduate, it is hard to afford by yourself. So if you have a roommate, look into this place! The laundry facilities are not the most ideal, but they are available in each building. Unfortunately you are stuck with the cable and internet company associated with the apartment, so you can't pick your own. If you want access to everything and to be close to everything, check this place out!
I lived here for four years while attending school in the area. When I moved in there were a few problems with the unit which didn't bother me until it took almost a year to fix. Then every time something would break it was the same story. Upon vacating the unit they charged me $300 and took my security deposit. When I asked why, the manager very rudely told me I had not cleaned the refrigerator or shower when I moved out (despite having recalked the shower). So apparently cleaning costs $1600.
