Three small, upper-middle-class neighborhoods, Middletown, Woodland Hills and Douglass Hills, and Anchorage, an upper-class community, make up the Outer East End of Louisville. Each community features a mixture of newer, more elaborate homes that mingle nicely with some of the historic architecture in the area. However, the homes in Anchorage remain the most elaborate in the area. Wide-open, undeveloped areas provide residents with beautiful scenic views, and nearby access to U.S. Route 60 and interstates 64 and 265 make the 18-mile commute into downtown Louisville simple.

Property Ratings at Summit Place Apartments
I've lived at Summit Place apartments for a little under a month now. It's been frustrating the whole time, because of the staff and their incredibly poor work ethic. I couldn't get the office to reply to me about when I could pick up my keys. When I finally got my keys, they didn't work. Then I found out the stove was broke, and I still don't have a working stove. Now the water is inexplicably turned off this weekend, and emergency maintenance is not responding. If you like constant traffic and an unresponsive office and maintenance staff, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, see if you have other options.
The staff that work here are all absolutely amazing and extremely professional! The apartment I live in is very big and perfect for the price. They have a pool, fitness center, and 24 hour access to your packages! They even do a monthly newsletter! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone!
This place was by far the WORST one I toured last week solely because of the office staff. I had a “self-guided” tour scheduled but upon arriving, I was not able to get into the apartment that I was told would be open. I called the office numerous times and was unable to reach anyone. I called the next day to see if I can reschedule but was told that the apartment wasn’t “viewable” at this time. It was a joke, don’t waste your time with this place if you are serious about moving because you they will give you the runaround.
I moved in a little over a year ago and I must say that this has been the best apartment experience I have ever had! The staff is so accommodating and genuine, which you don’t really see that often! Their leasing consultant goes above and beyond and is probably the realest person you can ever meet. The maintenance team is hands down the best I have ever seen. They respond to requests quickly, they are friendly, and are very helpful in explaining what they did. If you are looking to move I would recommend this place!
Been here a year they’re raising my rent $170 a month all while I watch the roof across blow off in the last 6 months all staff have quit or been replaced with rude people too bad cause when we moved in it was nice
I’m not exactly sure how these can be considered “luxury” apartments. Sure, they’re not bad apartments. But it’s carpet throughout (cheap carpet, at that), the once pin-entry gate hasn’t worked since we moved here, and when we moved in you could smell how gross the carpet was for at least 2 weeks (yes, I told the office. No, they didn’t care). Then on Friday, the A/C went out. I have a one year old, by the way. I called at 4:45 when I had gotten home from work. The office literally told me, “we don’t view it as emergency. We looked at the weather for this weekend, and we think you’ll be fine. Our maintenance team won’t look at it until Monday” Yes. Literally. I remind them I have a one year old—still the answer is literally no until Monday. So I sat in an apartment that was 83 degrees with a sweating one year old, and on Sunday the high is 57. Since this issue isn’t an emergency, it looked like we would have to make due until Monday at the earliest. I sent an email stating that it was unacceptable. I was polite, well spoken, but very clearly angry. What mother wouldn’t be? AFTER they realized I was angry, they have decided to send the on-call person to fix it. It took me getting angry to get results. The next result however, was an incredibly rude email back, “I will take care of my staff. There's no reason to have such an attitude..Sometimes attitudes work against you not for you” Yes, you all. Because I was angry and had to force someone to look at my ac in an apartment that is already overpriced because I have a one year old, I’m the problem. We are paying more than we should anyway for rent, the amenities are equal to or less than several apartment complexes that charge at least $2-300 less in the same area. This is not luxury. This is not tenant-oriented. And on top of it, there is rarely polite attitude from the office. If it is polite, it’s fake. Again... it is not luxury. You can rent a house with the same amount of bedrooms for the prices they ask and save yourself the trouble.
I have lived at Summit Place for several years now and I have to say out of all the apartments I have lived in, this is my favorite! There really is a sense of community and it feels like home. The office staff (Susan, Josh and John) are always so genuine and accomidating. They truly go above and beyond to make sure everyone has what they need and are happy. The maintenance men (Darryl and Chris) are always prompt when making repairs and they do it right the first time. I love this place and have no intentions on leaving any time soon! Thank you for all that you do!
I am only writing this review because I have lived here for years and have seen some changes in this community that have been quite positive. However, when looking online today I saw a negative review from a neighbor I am assuming is in my building because I too lost my water for a day. First off, this person seems like something else is bothering them because they lied in their review. I complained myself in person at the office and I was informed that they were doing required inspections on our apartment sprinklers (which most educated people would appreciate because it would save my daughter and I in a fire) and the valve broke. They had called plumbers and were told it would be fixed that day. When I went back to my apartment a yellow van was there working and I asked out of curiosity if it was true what they were telling me, the man I spoke to actually said he was one the that tested the valve and it got stuck and needed to be replaced. He also told me that it's a valve you can't just buy at the store and that's why he couldn't fix it. So I went about my day. Later that evening the staff knocked on my doors, explained that the plumbers didn't show up until after 5 and found out when they got here that they needed an industrial valve to fix it, they gave me a typed letter apologizing, (I also received an email and text message) gave me several bottles of water and access to a vacant apartment to give my daughter a bath and told me it would be fixed the next day. Which it was. This community and its staff are wonderful, friendly, and are always out picking up the parking lots and the courtyard behind my building. Are they perfect? No. But no one is. I was very happy when they promoted Susan and brought Josh back. This property is very well ran, I know because I am signing my 5th lease renewal and wouldn't do that if the staff were incompetent. They even gave me new lights and faucets when I renewed, they just had a massive pool party for the community and just recently put an event on facebook for a drive thru breakfast next month. You really can't get better than here. They do a really nice Christmas dinner for all of the people here and even had a chili cook off last year for the neighbors. I'll end my rant with this, no apartment community is perfect.
Just two minutes from Norton Commons and five minutes to the Paddock Shops. Shopping, dining, community, all at your fingertips with Summit Place Apartments! Quiet complex and a true sense of community. They have social events all the time, from community yard sale, beginning of summer cookout/pool party and pictures with Santa in the clubhouse, there is something for everyone here. Even Bunco night in the clubhouse! With over five floor plans to choose from they have something to fit every budget, family size or lifestyle. Separate utility room to fit full size washer and dryer, open layout with modern kitchen with accent wall and a spacious master bedroom and closet! The staff treats their renters like family and Rose, the owner, is wonderful! The newly renovated clubhouse is perfect for hosting events or parties. I recently rented it out for my husband’s graduation party and it was wonderful! It looked like something from a magazine with the modern furniture and décor. The other amenities are the 24 hour gym, 24 hour computer room and coin laundry in the clubhouse. They have options to add on a storage unit or garage as well. My husband and I have lived her for three years now and the only complaint we have is the AC is a little loud for our liking, but works well keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We will stay here until we are ready to be first time home buyers! Don’t wait! Make Summit Place your new home, you won’t be disappointed!!
My girlfriend and I just signed our third lease with the property. We have been overall, very happy with our time living here. The staff has been extremely nice and accommodating. The grounds are always groomed and landscaped well. There is a full basketball court and tennis court that are well maintained and a small pool and even smaller fitness room. Rose has been the property manager the entire tenure and she is great. The other positions in the office have changed pretty regularly. The maintenance guys have been great and friendly. the only reason I didn't give five stars is because after signing our third lease, we have had a few issues in our unit, but the staff have been very understanding and always responded quickly. Issues have always been checked that day and fixed in a timely manner. There is also major upkeep being done on numerous buildings on the property right now. I would have appreciated being told of the planned repair. Instead, I renewed our lease, and the next day, the construction companies trailer was literally 75 feet from my patio door without any warning.
