Golden sits fifteen miles due east of downtown Denver on Interstate 70, where the urban landscape begins to give way to the rugged beauty of the Front Range. Surrounded by huge parks full of hiking trails (and, of course, fairly close to several ski areas), Golden apartments are excellent for folks who like to spend their time outdoors.
Golden is famous as the home of Coors Brewing Company, but like many other Colorado communities there are several breweries around town. Bus and light rail service connects Golden to the rest of the Denver metro area, making it easy to get to work or just explore without depending on a personal vehicle.

Property Ratings at Summit View Village Apartments
Unless you have a new furnished apartment that they recently did renovations on, everything is insanely old and worn down. Stuff in our apartment breaks every week and the first day we moved here out shades fell off. Remakes of cigarettes and keeps getting more expensive. The neighbors are rude (not summit views fault) but the staff is rude too. The second night we had been there (about 4 years ago) one of the staff slapped her son across the face because he yelled at me and my family for being in the gym…sounds hella made up but it’s for real.

We look forward to speaking with you.
This place is way over priced. The AC doesn’t keep up in the summer on average in the summer the apt was 85 degrees. The front office is very shady. They said they gave me a parking pass but never did. My friend got a job there and looked it up. Of course a new parking pass is 50$. When moved out was charged 200$ for not returning it!!!!

We have been holding our annual Christmas party here since 2013 along with other family events. The clubhouse is absolutely amazing. The staff has been so accommodating and are always happy to set up for us. Thank you Summit View Village.

My family had our holiday party in the clubhouse and it was perfect! Beautiful open windows, a great space to gather lots of people and even a separate room for the kiddos to play. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. Thanks for making our gathering easy to plan and a great memory for us all!

The staff are generally nice and maintenance are helpful. Unfortunately, there is dog poop everywhere on the property and people are allowed to smoke in their apartments and on their balconies. Smoke drifts in through the windows all night and the office staff said they will not help with this.
We have been living here for more than a year. If I would have the possibility of living in another complex near Colorado School of Mines I would definitely move away. Apartments are old, bad quality furniture and overpainted to try to make it look better. After your contract ends, they unilaterally increase your rent and charge you an extra fee per month if you are staying less than a year. Parking spots are the worst! There are not enough parking spots for visitors and for residents neither (every night the towing company cames and towed residents cars that do not have the permit visible as they want, even though administration have the plate number of each resident car charging $250) Common areas are old and dirty, especially the stairways of each building, which are full of bird debris and spiderweb. Good things to say is that the view of Summit View is nice and that the external company that does maintenance fix the problems, (which are a lot) on time.
Since I have moved in everything has been broken. I have filled out several maintenance requests. Each time someone comes out we get the same answer, "it can't be fixed". My closet was flooded twice within a week. The bathroom ceiling was soaked, sagging and mold covered. The new ceiling is mess, it's wavy, missing paint, and already cracked. If you could see the photos, you would laugh. My heater has buzzed and hummed(on or off, summer and winter)since I moved in, I've filed multiple maintenance requests. "We cannot fix a noise, dude." The refrigerator was spoiling the food. It took 4 service calls before they called in an appliance specialist, who recommended a replacement. This is after 6 months of spoiled food. All the yards are covered in dog poop. Yuck! The workout area has asbestos and is always out of order. This place is a joke.
Huge and beautiful! The clubhouse that is available to rent for private parties is perfect for all occasions. It has game room for kids, full kitchen, bar area, patio with amazing mountain views and a beautiful grand room with a fireplace. Tables and chairs are also provided. We have had up to 60 guests and fit very comfortably. We moved to a new home recently but still come back several times a year for all of our family events. There is nothing like it for the price. It has many family memories for us. Thank you for always taking such good care of us Summit View!
A major component of apartment living is the staff. The staff here has handled every request of mine, no matter the importance, quickly and with great workmanship. I wrote a short note about a tow from our parking lot that I felt was a legal park. Lisa instead of consoling or placating me, actually investigated on her own. I am sure the office must receive many complaints. She took the initiative and in fact did find out I was a "legal park". She had my money returned. Also, I read some reviews that state the pool is not clean. I use the pool 2-3 times a week when it is open. It is always clean. Sometimes after a "party" the pool is closed for cleaning. I sure appreciate the staffs quick reactions to these situations. I enjoy my Summit View community.
Nothing beats waking up every morning to this incredible view! There are plenty of trails nearby for both the casual walker and the avid hiker! The apartment offers a workout room, Yoga, Wet & Dry saunas, an amazing pool that is shaded in the shallow end for the little ones & long enough for laps & did I mention the hot tub? Better yet head inside the Clubhouse for a round of Pool, Darts, Chess, Foosball, use the office area for internet & printers, play a lil air hockey or just watch some TV on the giant screens. I rented the Clubhouse for my oldest son's Graduation party, not only was it affordable but offered a terrific view from the balcony, we were able to play music of our choosing throughout the Clubhouse and best of all I was able to really impress my family & friends! We have now lived here coming up on 8 years, & to be honest I wish I could just buy my place & never leave! My kids are safe & within my view at all times with the nearby playground & Basketball court, (there is Tennis & Volleyball too but my kids have no interest). The staff is just amazing & always here to fix any issue I have in a timely fashion! I work from home so it is so important to me that the staff is quiet while doing repairs & able to work about my schedule. Any time I see the staff on the streets in passing they wave hello & smile- and let's face it who couldn't use more of that in their life?? Of course I long for a washer & dryer in my unit because I just hate laundry LOL But at least when I do have to trek my stuff of the facility provided I don't have to carry a ton of quarters or wait forever for an available machine. I would love to see them upgrade to central air as it gets hot in the summer. But they make up for that by picking up my trash for me right outside my door five nights a week. That's right ladies who needs a husband? Sorry honey I'm only kidding. But seriously I am sure that he is happy not to have to hear my call out "Oh Honey!" from the kitchen at dinner time while he is trying to relax after work. Needless to say that I love it here. Getting a chance to know the staff better at events they host like Halloween & pool parties or my favorite Wine & Cheese nights give me a safe night to let loose & not worry about how I am getting home after one too many drinks (Hey, I'm a lot of fun at those things, what can I say?) is just the icing on an already fabulous cake.
Summit veiw village is fantastic! I love that they provided a 24hr laundry mat. They have a very nice pool and grill area to have a nice get together and the entire spot is just perfect! They just added a trash service that picks up everyday Wich is greatly convenient. They seem to even be improving as they just paved all of there concrete and repainted all of the building. My lease ends soon sadly but I'd love to return one day.
We moved into Summit View Village in February and we love it! The property is clean and the community is safe. Maintenance responds to service calls in a very timely manner, which we really appreciate.
Summit View apartment have really gone a long way to make us happy and feel at home. The maintenance staff is sharp, and the office staff has been wonderful. The grounds have been kept well, and so much has been done to keep everything very attractive. Occasionally some of the facilities have had to get extra maintenance, but for the age of these apartments, it's to be expected. Communication about upcoming work on the streets and grounds has been timely and thorough. Our family has never lived an apartment lifestyle and we have been so impressed and grateful. If we could ask for any improvement, it might be to replace one of the treadmills in the workout room and perhaps more frequent pavement sweeping around the pool and hot tub. Not enough to bring the score down from FIVE stars. Thank you summit View!
Minutes from the light rail to Denver and you'll have a jump start for a ski weekend. Very dog friendly with lots of open space. The apartments are large with balconies with great views. Lots of amenities, that are kept clean and safe.
This complex is perfect for college students. The apartments are large and spacious, with sound-proof walls. There is a pool, hot tub, exercise room, and a game room to accommodate your guests. Easy bike ride or bus ride to downtown Golden which is quaint and thriving. Dogs enthusiastically accepted.
The views are too die for !!! Maitenance is usually quick to fix issues. For the complex having a lot of college students (Colorado School of MInes) the buildings are very quiet. Golden is a wonderful community close to hiways, shoppings and good schools !!!
I've lived here for five years. Management leaves a little to be desired but not to the point you can't count on them. The location is to die for and the view rocks! It's a collage town so be prepared for that kind of life style. I love it here and would recamind it.
I chose summit view apartments because they were the least expensive option for a college student in Golden. I can tell you right away that you get what you pay for. These aren't high-end apartments, but for the price, you really can't argue. However, they make up for it with the sheer amount of space provided. There are tons of places to store your things, and all of the rooms feel quite large. The provided appliances and amenities aren't amazing, but they do the job. One great thing about the apartments is that they're quite sound-proof. I very rarely hear my neighbors, despite the fact that most of them are college students. I can't even hear music from my roommate's speakers in the next room over. However, in my mind the single greatest thing about summit view is the maintenance staff. Every time I've had any problem with something, they've fixed it within a week. Almost all maintenance is free here. I'm even getting my entire carpet replaced soon, and I don't have to foot the bill for any of it. The complex is also located in a pretty good part of town for a college student without a car. The college is less than ten minutes away, bike or car, a supermarket is just two blocks down the street, and the amazing RTD lightrail service from Golden is less than a twenty minute walk away. I know that many of my fellow students live here as well. The large majority of the residents here are small familys and college students. To sum it up: These apartments are good for the price, with lots of floor space and a great maintenance team. The complex itself is located in a great place for a student of Mines, and is a great choice for an off-campus housing solution.
I like this apartment very much. Summit View Village is a peaceful place to live. I am very happy to live here. I have fun swimming in the pool and playing inthe courts. I met very friendly neighbors. I really like the green areas.
My family is very happy because we are living in Summit View Village. It is a very safe and quiet place.
The Summit View Village is a wonderful area of Golden to be located. It's a 5 minute bike ride to downtown Golden. There is elaborate variety of quality restaurants nearby. Just next door if your apartment needs anything at all you can purchase reasonably priced items at Goodwill. There are nice amenities including a pool, large lobby area, gym, yoga room to name a few. The actual apartments are lovely and there set up so that you aren't necessarily going to hear your neighbors (we don't). The staff & maintenance team gets the job done efficiently and effectively. So far my girlfriend and I feel as though we've hit the jackpot for our first apartment. The views are actually of nice little peaks and really it doesn't feel as close to Denver as it is.
I've been here in Golden for over a year. I've lived all around Denver for a decade and I just LOVE living in Golden! Bike riding, car shows, Buffalo Bill Days, there's a speak easy hidden in town - great place to bring visitors. Fossil Trace Golf Course is across the street and I regulary enjoy the club house. In the winter the elk come down the mountain and you can see them grazing across the street from my patio. The staff at the club house here take great care of their tenants. Everything on the outside of the apartments has been recently painted, parking repaved, and pool areas have been redone. Oh, and the hiking trails behind the complex are my favorite. We're located near School of Mines, Red Rocks outdoor theater, and Red Rocks Community College. Just perfect!! Thank you!!
Good unit in a pretty good area. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores in the area. About a mile and a half away from Colorado School of Mines and Downtown Golden. Walking distance to the RTD Light rail Station as well. Fitness center leaves a lot to be desired and the grill and pool are closes kind of early, but reasonably priced and a decent community. Parking is sparse.
Summit View Village is the best apartments my husband and I ever lived in. The rent is at a reasonable price, there is storage right across the street (way convenient), the work orders are always completed within 24 hours and it is in a fantastic location. Close to two grocery stores as well as many restaurants. There is a mountain The view is incredible and the parties are always fun. They are warm in personality and always welcoming. Lisa is the best office manager I ever dealt with. I always refer people looking to go check out Summit View Village in Golden, Colorado. I am huge on family parties, Summit View allows me to have cookouts and party with the family all night. I really enjoy living there and made a home of it.
We have been here for nearly three years. The apartment itself is great, with good-sized rooms. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Maintenance crew is excellent, with any issues taken care of quickly. Amenities (pool, basketball courts, etc) are well-maintained.
My wife and I have lived in many apartments, and this by far has been our best experience. The management clearly cares about the tenets. They are polite, helpful, and honest. They have been a great resource for some of our concerns, and when they make mistakes, they apologize and try to set everything right. We feel safe in this community, day or night. Many of the units are rented to Engineering students at Colorado School of Mines, and these students are intelligent enough to not engage in crime. They are also generally quiet at night because they are studying, not partying. Summit View is located near the Jefferson County Sheriff, so they can respond quickly in the event of an emergency. Overall, the value is excellent. The apartments are a little older, but they are well kept. The maintenance crew responds quickly to work orders when issues do come up. The club house is the best common space I've seen in an apartment complex. Between the layout of the clubhouse (and pool, playground, etc.) and the location within Golden, CO, it feel almost like I live at a mountain resort.
I wanted to like this place. However, since I moved in I have had nothing but problems with our apartment and the management. First of all, despite being clean, our apartment had many issues that needed to be fixed once we moved in. Not only that, when maintenance came they only fixed 3 of the 12 items and I had to put in multiple more requests before they were fixed. I also came home once to find a maintenance worker in my apartment without an appointment. Secondly, management does a terrible job of keeping tenants informed about the goings on. I chose this apartment over others for the pool and have tried to swim multiple times only to find it closed for different reasons. It would be nice if they would inform tenants about things like that. Third, if you're a non-smoker DO NOT move here. The smoke drift between apartments is substantial. And even though it would be nice to open the windows at night to cool down in the summer, often times there is too much smoke coming in to do so. Fourth, the heating units are terrible. They don't do a good job of heating the apartment plus they look terrible. Also, the bathroom and kitchen don't have any. And there is only one AC unit in the front room. Fifth, there isn't enough parking for tenants and therefore the street parking where guests have to park is often full of residents. Lastly, the management could be friendlier. Anytime I ask a question or go into the office to get a package it feels like I'm putting them out by being there.
I have lived here for a while now and like it. The maintenance guys Mark and Dominic have come to my apartment and have completed work orders and did an excellent job and were very courteous and polite.
I have lived at Summit View Village for the past 6 years and like it here very much. The people living here are polite and friendly. It is a very quiet area with great views of the foothills. The staff at summit view are always helpful and quick to respond to my issues when the need arises. Love living here!
I live here and have to say the Maintenance here is awesome. I recently had a dishwasher issue and sent in a request through the online system and they came over right away and figured out pretty quickly that it was broken. The very next day they had a company come out and bring me a new one! All I can say is Kudos to Maintenance!
Staff is less than cordial and rudely insincere. Maintenance issues abound as the apartments are dated and in much need of repair.
