Property Ratings at Sundance Apartments
Where should I start? If I could give this place negative stars, that would be generous. My family and I have been here about a year and a half, and at first, things were good. The previous property manager, was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, personable, but most importantly, she got things done around the complex. Unfortunately, she left and someone else was brought in. Things have fallen apart since then. Some of the unsatisfactory changes include: -Roach infestation -Poor management -Dirty pool and dog runs -Cigarette butts in the children's playground area -Poor upkeep of the property (just to name a few) -Slapping paint on the BBQ pits and calling it clean When you need something done or fixed, don't count on management to return your calls or respond to your requests. We needed a single light bulb changed in our kitchen, so we submitted a maintenance request online and called the leasing office to follow up. One month later, they finally came to change the light bulb ONLY after I called and left and angry voicemail. If it's not an emergency, don't expect management or maintenance to come running. Another fun fact: one of the laundry rooms was broken into a couple months ago leaving broken glass all over the floor, and nothing was done about it. As a matter of fact, I think the broken window still has not been replaced. My husband is constantly purging and cleaning our apartment: bleaching the floors, washing our clothes constantly, mopping, etc. yet, there is an infestation in our apartment. Our apartment has been fumigated twice since we've been here, but the bugs keep coming back. I shouldn't have to hire someone to spray my apartment, but it's getting to the point where I might consider. Also, my husband's car was just keyed today and I'm pretty sure management has an idea who it was. The new woman brought on to be the new manager is very unprofessional, doesn't know what she's doing, and is rarely available via phone or physically in the office. The previous manager would send follow up texts and emails, and she would always be in the office if residents had issues. My car has also been randomly vandalized and management has done nothing about it. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone unless you want your car vandalized, roaches crawling all over your apartment, and poorly maintained amenties.
When we looked at the property online, the pictures look nice and we thought it was a score. But after showing up, we noticed the whole entire complex was outdated and had poor maintenance. The dog runs are full or loose dirt, stinks, and there is nobody to keep it up and clean. The pool has dirty water; some kind of sticky chemical. BBQ's are rusted from inside out, when requested to change them because it could become a health problem cooking in them. They decided to just throw a fresh coat of black paint from the outside, which is even worse! When we walked in the apartment, the manager told us that our unit was never used and it was a show model. The carpet and cabinets looked old and beat up, and it was not properly cleaned. After a few months of living there, our neighbors told us that there was a couple living here with dogs and kids; no wonder why this apartment looked beat up. Some neighbors started to have lots of roaches, and they informed management and only sent someone to put traps. With time, the apartment was infested with them crawling everywhere, even in the ceiling. IT WAS DISGUSTING! Issues with management happened in a constant basis, she would say something and then change her story or not come through with them. Management will lie and tell you whatever they need to calm you down and then hit you on the back, do not take anything by word and get everything in writing, which it won't happen because she will tell you that they do not provide paperwork for what you are asking them to do. There are always kids playing outside in the parking lot, soccer balls will hit your car, your walls will vibrate when people walk up and down the stairs, and you are risking getting roaches inside your home. Since walls have hardly any or no insulation, and the windows are very outdated, you will hear every noise from the outside coming in your apartment. After staying there for thirteen months, moving out of there was the best decision we made. Many of our neighbors started doing the same thing, feeling very unhappy with their experience living there. I cleaned the apartment and they told me not to worry about the carpet because it was more than 5 years old, I only got $25 back from my deposit. PLEASE TAKE ALL THIS INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE MOVING IN HERE! They will lie to you to just get you in, then you will experience everything that I just mentioned in this review. Talk to the neighbors if you like to confirm.
