Lending historic architecture and blooming cherry blossoms in the spring, the University of Washington contains a range of gardens, galleries, and theaters in addition to sports complexes and a medical center.
Should you choose to rent in the U District, you will have the opportunity to bike the Burke-Gilman trail, kayak Union and Portage Bays, savor cocktails and a film at Sundance Cinemas, swing by the Saturday Farmers Market, celebrate touchdowns at Husky Stadium, check out the independent restaurants and funky shops along the Ave, and attend the annual U District StreetFair.
The U District sits about five miles north of Downtown Seattle, with convenience to Green Lake Park, Woodland Park Zoo, the Fremont Troll, and Gas Works Park.

Property Ratings at Sundodger
Very challenging to communicate with leasing office, received reply on critical lease termination notice 4 days later without a guideline and got charged almost two months after lease was over because of this.
Nobody was even in the office. I called three numbers. I left a note under the door, emailed Sundodger, and emailed the parent company Indigo Real Estate. A Business Manager emailed me three weeks later with no apology or explanation or acknowledgement of standing me up, just to say they still had availability. Ridiculous.
If you are reading this I highly DO NOT recommend finding your apartment here. I began my lease here with no issues during the 2019 school year, and then near the end of my lease in May of 2020 I discovered that management had been overcharging me exorbitant fees and undue prices over the duration of the whole year, which were not agreed upon in the initial contract and which were secretly charged to my account. There is a program they offer called RentPlus which supposedly helps you manage your payments. They made it clear this program was optional, and I as the renter made it clear that I wished to opt out of this program many times during the beginning of the year. I communicated openly and several times to make sure I had opted out. When management informed me they had opted my account out from this, near the end of the lease I was still charged the price of this program for each month of my rent. I found out I had been charged each month for rent plus even though I specifically requested to opt out at the beginning of my lease in 2019 multiple times! They did not inform me I was being charged this, and instead it showed up on my final bill when it was deducted from my deposit. Secondly, an even more outrageous event occurred when we discovered their hidden pricing strategies. Through the months of March to June, I was indeed not present in my unit due to Coronavirus and the pandemic, and I had shut off all electricity and power in the apartment and moved back home. A quick call to Seattle City Lighting informed us that there had indeed been 0 watts used each day in the apartment unit I had rented. Then when the final bill came, they still charged us the electrical fees even though this was no where in the contract, and even though there was absolutely 0 electrical use for 3-4 months. They charged us an electrical fee for each of these months and did not let us know until the final bill, even though a call to the city indicated there was 0 usage and the unit had been shut off completely from power! When we called management about these and other hidden fees which only manifested near the end of our billing cycle, we literally had to call them for FOUR months, each week, with over 10+ follow up emails to try and get a refund for some of the mid charges fees, and for four months management brushed us off, IGNORED us, and refused to reply or pick up our calls even though we knew their office was open during normal business hours.
Got stood up by the leasing team twice. No one showed up at our scheduled time nor bothered to answer our phone/email. Extremely irresponsible management!!
First of all, NOISE: the sound proof between floors is awful. I can hear anything happens in upper floor: dog running noise, walking noise, furniture moving noise. Worst of all, earplug does not help. The low-frequency noise like stomping floor can easily goes around most effective earplug. Secondly, IRRESPONSIVENESS: I complained about the noise to the apartment manager via email several times, they JUST DON'T REPLY EMAIL. Even they fast-response to my email while I was considering moving in, they just lost that responsiveness after I moved in.
