Not polite, all of them talk very rude over the phone like you are guilty for something or owe them something. You have to keep asking your questions so she can actually give you a full answer. Very lazy and fed up ppl on the phone, bad customer service. They try to make it as hard as possible to get the apartment actually and she says she won't show the apartment until you pay application fee and fill out all the legal paperwork ,before seeing apartment and figuring out if you like it or not. That's very dumb to me ,because if I don't like the place ,why should I waste my time filling out bunch of paperwork and paying application fee plus she said bring the security deposit as well. Very rude!!!!

However, we encourage all our potential residents to contact us at infor@tonti.net with any concerns. Due to the pandemic, we have a temporary policy in place to reduce the exposure of COVID-19 to our staff and potential residents. Our properties have been conducting over the phone guest cards for pre-qualification purposes before setting appointments. We are showing by appointment only at this time. We are asking potential applicants to bring their income verification to the first appointment for qualifications purposes. It is not necessary to complete an application or submit a deposit prior to seeing an apartment if someone does have the income qualifications. We are doing what we can to continue to rent apartment and keep the safety of everyone in mind by limiting exposures. We thank you for the feedback. We have addressed this with our staff and hope we addressed your concerns.

The staff here is biased. MEGAN has a very nasty attitude and is a liar. She puts on an act in front on the manager who takes her side per hearsay. My partner and I were considering moving here until we encountered her. When we went to put in our deposit (which I was under the impression that was $450), she had a very unpleasant attitude and stated that it would be $550 instead because we were getting a two bedroom instead of a one bedroom. Keep in mind that when we received an application and went to tour the apartments, this was never made aware to us because we were inquiring about a one bedroom. I then went in to get another application the next month being that my boyfriend lost his, and she rudely asked me if “I was expecting” (I’m pregnant) and told me that we would now have to get a two bedroom. That time, I let it be and didn’t say anything, although her asking me if I was expecting was very rude.NEVER was I made aware that the deposit had now changed to $550. So when I went in with all of my paperwork, pay stubs, and money orders, that’s when it was brought up that our deposit would be another $100 in a smug manners. She made quite a few faces at me and I calmly told her that I didn’t like her attitude and would like to speak with the manager and the manager is just as rude as her. They give Tonti management a bad reputation. The website is misleading and the extra charges they add on are totally not worth staying here. I would highly recommend renting elsewhere!!!

The security deposits vary regarding 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms which all office personnel explain at the time of showing an apartment model. The office staff is rude. The manager Kim is extremely rude with zero customer relation. The pools are not kept up. The air conditioners are old and outdated. The parking lot is horrible. My car has been hit, keyed, and I’m consistently having to climb In through my passenger side door because people cannot park properly and Kim the manager refuses to do anything. Maintenance people are really nice and have always been quick with the few issues I’ve had.

Do not rent here because of the following: the rent continues to increase monthly; the Management refuses to address loud residents making noises; the pool water is always green; and the office workers are rude!

I lived there for two years and for the most part the service was always good, the staff was quick responding to maintenance calls, also the apartments are big and comfortable and the prices were very affordable for the area. The area was conveniently located and close to everything which made me really happy. As with any older building, some maintenance is usually required and sometimes you can hear the neighbors, but that wasn’t a big issue for the most part.

Full of con artists. Through constant refusal to properly maintain the property, we have dealt with numerous HEALTH HAZARDS and when we try to obtain a explanation or them to address the problem they respond with attempting to shift blame on us. Evicting my family of two currently because my fiancee is pregnant and we are in a one bedroom is unethical and repulsive. Constant pest problems, horrible complex overall!

We are sorry to hear that this tenant had a negative experience during their stay with the Sunlake Apartments. They were not evicted. We offered to work with them to transfer to a larger apartment. Their family was growing and they needed a larger unit. They decided to move elsewhere and gave us a 30 day notice to vacate. We want all of our residents to have an enjoyable living experience and regret we were unable to satisfy this tenant.
Big corporate property owners will throw you under the bus, throw it in reverse, and run you over for good measure.. Hidden fees and very questionable, outdated lease agreement.
I moved in a couple of weeks ago and I really do enjoy this apartment. The neighbors are quiet & it's a calm place to live. Parking is never an issue. The apartment could use some updates but I knew what I was getting with an older building. There are probably 10+ coats of paint on these walls and whoever painted did a quick and sloppy job- some paint on door knobs etc. My only REAL complaint or dislike is the bathroom. The linen closet and the cabinets smell like cat pee mixed with old cigarette smoke. It's a cramped space in the shower/tub with nowhere to put even a small shampoo bottle & the shower pressure is horrible and you won't get anything more than a trickle if you crank the hot water up. When first viewing the apartment I was told it was on a boiler system so I would never have to worry about running out of hot water. That's a joke bc I almost never have hot water.
I was living there with my growing family for over a year and I wouldve never traded the kind of living style that i had. Great staff and great community. During my stay I never had any problems with the apartments and what ever got broken they would right away assist you with help which was great. I have live at Sunlake for eight months and it was the best decision made. They have helpful staff and they even give you an air conditioning filter every month. The pool is very close to my apartment and very relaxing. If you are looking for a quiet apartment community this is the place to live!!
These apartments are cheap, old, and dirty! Everything in the apartment breaks. It is suppose to be gated but the gate is only closed at 8 pm. The roaches are huge and disgusting! I had VERY large roaches everyday in my apartment, and they just sent someone to spray. Roaches are everywhere. The a/c is always breaking. You can hear every little thing. Do not live here, you will be disappointed!
honestly, the apartment setting is average. However, once inside things become slightly below average... The appliances and cabinetry are very old. There is also about 500 coats of paint on the walls. The upside is that there is plenty of space throughout the apartment for storage, and for normal furniture. The building has easy access to the lake, and is close to plenty of convenient shopping centers, and the airport. So if you're okay with some older appliances and the cosmetic issues, this place is not bad at all for what you pay for.
Sun lake apartments are clean and quiet. The pool and the tennis court is awesome. The best view of lake Pontchartrain. would've gave 5 stars but had to pay for pool key :-).
Love this apartment!! Lots of storage, very big, nice back patio and close to Lake Ponchatrain! The appliances are outdated and as a result, your electric bill will go up some. But rent is very reasonable and management very friendly.
