Property Ratings at Sunlake at Edgewater
I’ve been here since 2020 while growing as a person. The office staff is nice and patient for the most part. My dislikes are the fact that the little spa tub is always filthy with chunks of unidentified debris floating about. Also, maintenance never tells you when they’re coming. I even had a maintenance man walk in while I was in the bathroom. It is infuriating to not have prior notice, especially when it is stated in the lease that I am to be notified at minimum 24hrs in advance of anyone entering my apartment. Unfortunately the rent has gone up every time I’ve renewed my lease. One would think the company as a whole appreciates those who stay for longer than 12 or 24 months. Other than that, it’s pretty good.
My husband and I are expecting our first child in a couple of months and decided to relocate to a larger apartment to suit our needs in a better neighborhood. We were excited about everything the community had to offer and the price is unbeatable. We’ve been here for about a month and have experienced nothing but great things from this apartment complex. The staff and residents are friendly and the neighborhood is clean and beautiful. The tall ceilings, linen closet, and large living room were added selling points. And we love our bottom floor screened in porch. We couldn’t be happier!

I would avoid this complex at all possible. I was called in full confidence that I was approved for an apartment here. Once I had called with certain questions about deposits, my paperwork was finally looked at into depth and I wasn't approved. All the sudden, I was told that I needed to send a copy of my social security to verify my SSN. I further began to explain I was out of town visiting relatives. However, instead of being understanding, I was told that I needed to provide a copy of my social security card. I don't know about anyone else, but my social security card stays at home in a safe location. This complex said I needed to come up with proof THAT day by end of business. So after working a 12 hour midnight shift and then driving 2.5 hours I was expected to come up with a photo copy of my social security card even though it was their fault for telling me I was approved. All in all I'm definitely glad I declined to live here considering my paperwork wasnt properly looked at before being told 100% that I was approved. If paperwork was not done right, what else could have gone wrong, you know? Seriously, I would look into other apartments before considering this complex. I would not trust these people at all. All they want is your money.
We have lived here for a year now. Just renewed for another 15mo! We are in a villa. Nice, clean, spacious, friendly, good and fast service (office and maintenance). Love taking the kids on walks around the lake (day or night). Good space for good price. We are military. We have lived in many places, and this is by far our favorite! For city living this is a great place to live. We are close to a lot (base gate and grocery store included). Only problem is the school system is Huntsville City. Which isn't the best, esp since the number 2 in state (Madison City) is literally right next to us. But we feel safe and welcomed here, would recommend this place to anyone.
We really enjoy living at sunlake and have been here for almost 5 years. It's pretty quiet for the most part and the maintenance crew is wonderful! The front office staff is so helpful and sweet. The apartments are a decent size and reasonably priced compared to other complexes. We love walking around the lake or hanging out by the pool,which is amazing! I wish they'd fix the hot tub though. So far we've had no major issues, so we just renewed our lease again.
I'm enjoying living at Sunlake. The maintenance is an A . As soon as you put in an request- they are at your apt in 24hrs or less. I've never experienced good maintenance so that alone I am thankful. The apts are spacious. We have a 3 bedroom so it's cool.
At my old apartment complex, I always had problems with there being trash everywhere, loud neighbors, maintenance taking forever to come and a horrible office manager. Sunlake is the complete opposite! I rarely see trash. If I do, it is usually gone by the next day. My neighbors are not loud. I may hear children playing every once in a while, but that is perfectly fine. Maintenance comes in to fix whatever issue that I may have within a day at the most (usually the same day). The office staff is very welcoming and always makes certain whatever problem that you have is taken care of and will are always willing to answer questions. I absolutely love Sunlake! The bonus is the lake and screened in patio. The only problem that I had is with spiders and small little beetles, but that problem did not last long at all.
I chose the Sunlake at Edgewater community because it is a really beautiful place an its in a convenient location for me and my daughter. I lived here before and I loved it. I moved away for some years and decided to move back. The view of the lake makes living in this community even better. Everyone that's apart of this community is very nice and pet friendly. This is a place great for kids to play and enjoy life. If you are looking for a nice community this one is very well worth it.
I chose Sunlake as my home because of its convenient location near Madison and Huntsville. My commute is never more than 20 minutes. I also love the lake the property sits on with a beautiful walking trail, friendly neighbors, and helpful staff. The maintenance crew is very prompt and courteous when I have a request. We have lived at Sunlake at Edgewater since 2013 and we have loved every minute of it. Going from a large house to an apartment was hard at first but the office staff made the process so easy! They are very friendly and try to be as helpful as possible. It is so great waking up to a view of the lake. The neighbors have been friendly and we enjoy the great amenities that are offered. The reason I renewed my lease is because I have been a resident of Sunlake Apartments since 2012 and have encountered NO problems. The neighbors are friendly, the staff is helpful, and it's well worth it! Out of all the apartment's I've lived in Sunlake Apartments EXCEEDS them all! I just renewed my lease for an additional year. I enjoy the community, open floor plan, and convenience to everything! The office staff is nice and all maintenance requests have been handled in a timely manner. Plus the walking trail near the lake is an added bonus!
I've lived at Sunlake at Edgewater for 13 months and just renewed lease. The entire staff is professional and friendly and quickly respond to any service requests. The gym has been updated and has a wide range of equipment. I like being close to I565 and can be in Huntsville or Madison within a few minutes for work, restaurants, or shopping. My grandson loves the pool and the lake and fishing Randy Gant.
We have lived here for 7yrs and we're renewing our lease yet again!! We of course love living by a lake. I like the fact that the bldgs. aren't all crammed in together, but we have grass and open spaces to rest our eyes on. The staff and maintenance are friendly and the response time is good . My husband loves the 9ft ceilings. I enjoy the open floor plan, good sized bedrooms, and the screened patios. We're close to 565 and the city of Madison.
The lake is charming in the morning, afternoon..sunset..and there,the staff are friendly and the neighborhood is quiet and very nice. I love the place here..

I lived at SL while house hunting. Personable staff, fast maintenance response and beautiful setting. As someone else noted, the gym could be updated, but you have 24 hour access and some free weights which are rare. The apartments have a few years on them, but as I left buildings were being renovated. I could not find a better value in the area.
I used to live i Sunlake but moved to Huntsville to be closer to my job. Now that my job is in Madison, I am excited at the prospect of moving back.
Good place, just needs some upgrades to the gym(maybe hand sanitizer dispensers added) better equipment. Needs some type of play ground area for little kids, they need to allow grills on property, it would be a lot nicer if they had at least 2 grills out next to the pools like most places. outside of these few things, it is a great place to live. Most employees are great people. hope to be here for many more years.
