Home to over 6,000 residents in town and over 10,000 in the greater area, Smyrna, Delaware has seen significant growth since 2000, almost doubling its population. Established more than 250 years ago, Smyrna today is a community that sits on the banks of Duck Creek as well as on a surge of new technology business industry. Smyrna's location makes it a key point for travelers. The town sits strategically between Dover, Wilmington, and Newark, often attracting folks from the bigger cities to relocate for a quieter, small town life.
The town makes up the 5th largest population in Delaware, and its growth is aggressively matched by the infrastructure development occurring in-town, including a new Police Department facility, a new regional library, and a critical utility improvements along the downtown core. Industries centered in Smyrna range from healthcare players like Bayhealth to automotive names like Willis Ford and the Carl King Tire Company.

Property Ratings at Sunnyside Apartments
Quiet neighborhood with kind people. We recently had an issue with our washing machine, and maintenance came here right away and got to work on it. Very nice man and professional. The rent is reasonable, and water is free which is great ! I would recommend sunnyside apartments.

This complex is quiet and people mind their own and it’s in a good area but the amount of rent this complex charges is not appropriate for what you get in my opinion. They upgraded the apartments but the shower heads are not upgraded, I’ve had an issue where a high pitch noise continues to come out of my shower when I turn the shower on. And my biggest issue is the water heater. Which from the maintenance guy apparently other ppl are having the same issue too. I’ve had maintenance come and fix the hot water twice and now again it isn’t working and after calling for it no one has showed up yet and I have had to shower in cold water for 5 days now. Paying rent for a unit that isn’t providing its 100% ability. These are my only downsides to the place.
I lived here for almost a year and it's just awful. We've had many appliance problems that have been "fixed" but within the next month it's broken again. They desperately need to update the appliances. They do not tell you or at least give you a heads up when the maintenance man is coming and he has a key so be prepared for a men to just walk in whenever they want. Roxanne the manager has been nothing but rude to and speaks down to the people on the lease constantly. The kitchen is a small box completely cut off from the dining area and the living area which is inconvenient in a three bedroom apartment. My roommates and I can't wait to move out.
Yes this place is nice on the outside, however everything is cheaply made in the inside everything breaks, if you need anything fixed prepare to wait awhile, my downstairs toilet leaked, called and no one has come out to fix it yet (going on 2 weeks. But they will harass you when they need something from you, and the people who work in the office could use a lesson in customer service, beyond rude. I can't wait until my lease is up. I will gladly throw my keys on the table and back flip out of the office. Oh and lets not forget the so called (maintenance checks) they come in and do nothing from what I can tell.
The Sunnyside apartments are absolutely horrible. The roofs on those units are done and they know it. There’s so much water damage and they’ll just patch the issue til it becomes a problem again as my husband and I experienced. In addition, they seem to hire some awfully rude people. Roxanne in particular is one phone call away from getting corporate called on her. I get yelled at, cut off and talked over each and every time I speak with her and it’s frustrating dealing with that at 9am in the morning. Not to mention, they never get the work orders done at a reasonable time. We moved to the Christina side and I requested the blinds that SHOULD HAVE come with the half bath over a week ago, it’s still not here. I also requested someone come change the front lock as my key has not been able to open the door on two different occasions. To me, that’s an emergency. Still, no one has come out. I’m really just fed up at this point and looking to move so form your own conclusions.
The apartments are very nice quite spacious for the price. I chose this location because it was very quite and really nice class of people. Unfortunately, that has changed within the past four years seems like they are renting to anyone as long as there vacancy’s are filled. The class of tenants don’t care about others within there surroundings nor do they care about the property itself. Would never recommend anyone to this development now. Start screening your incoming tenants better if you care anything about this community.
Move here if you don't want your SECURITY DEPOSIT back. I moved out January 12th 2017 today is March 7th 2017. I have called several times with the same responses. Your suppose to get your deposit back in 20 days that is not the case here. I have been very patience but enough is enough I have filed a complaint with the attorney general discussing my situation.
I think the apartment is good for what it is worth. There really is no sense of community here though. Not even a bench outside if you want some fresh air. The only thing you get in your apartment. Its like living in a desolate remote area and the company just gives you a room and nothing else. The apartment itself is newly built so there were kinks that needed to be worked out. Overall the apartment has decent sized rooms, pretty decent amenities, and maintenance handles things accordingly when needed.
I love the town houses and there apt there very beautiful and we'll built, very nice and comfortable location Whr you can raise yur family, very clean I would Gve them 5 stars
Details: 2 Bedroom, 2 full bath, spacious living room, all appliances provided. 900-1000$ rent, no pets PROS: assigned parking spot right in front of your door, peaceful residents, no crime, clean and new, right next to route 1 entrance, local establishments very close ie groceries rite aid, snap fitness gym walking distance, quick response time for maintenance issues, CONS: Housing office employees are unfriendly, maintenance personell enter your apartment really often "to check things"
I have resided in Sunnyside Apartments for 4 years and it has been a great experience. The apartment units are equipped with updated appliances and ceiling fans. The open floor plan makes the living area look more spacious, and the rooms are a very nice size. It is very family friendly. There is a park in walking distance from the apartments, which is very beneficial. Only downfall is you get one parking space, but there is extra parking behind the buildings. All in all, I've enjoyed living at Sunnyside.
Sunnyside apartments it a great place to live! Spacious 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom with a full size washer/dryer! Perfect for a family with children. A very nice quiet neighborhood with lots of kids and in a great school district!
