Property Ratings at Halcyon West
I had a very bad experience, Not a good community, management sucks too much money, too many hidden costs every month we see an increase in rent
Used to be such a nice apartment. It has taken for worse with break-ins, parking theft ( once all my tires were stolen from parking) On top of that even when I stayed in apartment for 6 years and i cleaned apartment reasonably well they still sent me charges for cleaning/blinds. They promised to replaced carpets when I signed the lease but they never did. A week back another friend of mine reported a large snake too.
When I first moved here, I was so happy. The apartment looked nice and the staff were Kind and polite but now I can assure you that this is the worst living experience I’ve ever had. My upstair neighbors are so noisy... they scream all the time , stomp all the time , and I can even hear them arguing. The walls are so thin that I can hear them but they just don’t care about others. I tried to talk/emails the leasing office and they didn’t even care about my issue. They could just do an inspection but nothing. I am sleep deprived since I moved in that apartment. I can't take nap in my own apartment that I pay my hard earned money for. I can’t sleep without earplugs and I’m scared for my ears. The whole office including the manager is acting like they care but in reality they dont CARE about resident well being all they care about is having rent being paid. I will just give 5 stars to the maintenance people but I will move out as soon as possible!
I am beyond happy with my decision to make sunrise briar forest my home! The office staff as well as maintenance always go above and beyond for their residents! I will be recommending to everyone I know in search of a new home!
The property management team is an amazing group of professionals. They become your family on the spot. Your concerns are their concerns. I have not found an apartment complex that delivery on their promises of high standards of living, quality, and luxury like Sunrise. A beautiful property with very nice amenities. Super nice! It’s a Resort! This will be my fourth year living at Sunrise Briar Forest Luxury Apartments. And I have never, ever, had a problem. This my family and this my home. Come see! V. W. and puppy Dallas!
We recently moved and everything it's great, the leasing people is wonderful and very attentive, especially Angela, Stephanie and Nick. The apartment is clean and big. All the areas are we well maintained, 100% recommended
I've never had an apt at this complex and I don't ever plan to. My visit here in the leasing office was short and rude, I felt like I wasted my time. When we arrived I had to wait for the leasing agent to come from the back office (which wouldn't have been a big deal if her attitude was bit more pleasant). My husband and I have been looking around for about 2 weeks now, and so far our experience has been consistently the same except with Sunrise. I believe highly in good customer service, with that being said I believe it's in very poor taste to begin and end with telling someone this is all we have for this price. We didn't have the opportunity to state our budget or specifically what we were looking for. I usually don't write reviews unless I'm really bothered by something and reading the reviews from others disappointment all makes sense. I don't know if the young lady was a manager, we didn't even get her name. However, I was really anticipating on visiting the property and a tour. Instead, we were rushed out. Please work on being more professional.

i have recently put in my notice to leave this place. the new staff is just downright awful! the manager always has an attitude and the young girl in the office, im assuming is a manager as well does not know how to speak to residents with respect either! Staff keeps changing, they had a nice woman who was recently "reassigned" which in my opinion was a mistake considering she was the only one who had a decent attitude. Not to mention there is ALWAYS something wrong in my apartment and takes days for the staff to address it. Running away from this place. the owners need to clean house and find a better staff to keep this "luxury" apartment complex going. Would not recommend to anyone. too much $$$ for too little in return.
I have lived here long enough to get to know the staff well. The old manager Brian was a great manager and knew how to treat his residents right. I didn't care for the assistant manager, she obviously didn't know what she was doing as she never knew the answer to any question I ever had about my apartment. However, since they canned them and got these new people in the office, I dread even having to visit for a simple question. The gentleman who claims he's the New Manager is downright rude. He always has an attitude and makes you seem like you're wasting his time! They never followup on work services and are just generally unfriendly. Will not be renewing my lease when it's up! Wouldn't recommend unless they find a good staff to manage what could be a pleasant community.
If you want problems move here, horrible management horrible maintenance horrible construction work, appliances break, they don't keep up with the grounds maintenance-fleas, spiders, roaches, etc
Staffs are rude especially Krystal and maintenance is horrible yes it's a new apartment but always something leaking in the wall to broke ac and they let you wait till Monday and suffer in the heat. And the dryer the maintenance people fixes things easy fix and go. The dryer they just replace the knob and not even really fix it. Can't wait to move out I don't recommend people and my friends to live here!
do not move here, the apartments are very nice but filled with bugs. Request pest control every week but the bugs get worse and worse.
We moved in May 2015 and really liked the interiors and floor plans of Sunrise, compared to any other communities around. Quality of the appliances, Flooring, Blinds, Lights, Pool area, Man made lake with water fountain etc are the reasons I am staying here, and would not want to miss. But when you get some issues, you may not get a fix for it. I have raised a few service requests, like different lighting & appliance Breakers tips off frequently but neither the maintenance people nor the electrician could fix the problem. On top of it maintenance people keep giving diff reasons like you are putting load on the breaker by switching on lights in restroom? Very funny.. I wish the maintenance staff should at least accept that they could not find a fix. Overall I should say, I am neither happy nor unhappy about the property because of the above. My stay here would have been the best if I have not faced such maintenance issues in my apartment considering that it is a Brand new property at a great location.
Been here since last summer. The dog wash station is nice and the gym. The staff isn't always helpful. The apartment itself is nice and the new stuff is a plus but recently they rented out a few units to a school and since then I've been counting down till I get to move away from here! The kids aren't always accompanied by adults and they can be very loud at times.
We moved here in July 2015. Loved the Amenities, Large appliances, dog station, enough parking & overall feel. I just wish the staff knew that they were working at an apartment leasing office for a reason. If a car wash station is built too, it would be a big plus. If alcohol is prohibited in the pool area, might help as well. Just an idea for the management if they care to read this.
I have been living there since the summer with my girlfriend and our dog, and I too find the place to be above average with some Cons. Pros: Nice appliances, The layout of my one bedroom apartment is very nice, the staff has always been friendly towards me. Even though the dog wash station was a little late opening it has been awesome washing our dog there instead of at the park (I sure hope they maintain it properly) Cons: Doggie station: When we moved in they only had 2 doggie clean up stations, two at the front end of the complex. I live at the back end so anytime my dog does his business I have to walk all the way up front to drop the baggie in the trash can. It is a big inconvenience when you're in a rush. So I think many people don't even bother picking it up due to the far walk to dispose of it. We have told the staff several times, they said they will look into it. Instead of adding new ones they just moved the existing ones slightly closer (approx 20 ft.). I too have noticed the pool area is always crowded with people I don't think live there, so it can be hard to use the grills if you wanted to. I had the same issue with the coffee station. Too many times I have gone there and they don't have any coffee and/ or cups. So I don't even bother going there for coffee anymore. The mail can also be considered a con. They do make you pay for a "package box" which is 25$. I liked the idea, because I knew my packages would be locked till I could get them. However I was finding packages outside my door still. So I was curious why I was paying 25$ if they were still putting it outside my door. Lately though I have been getting my packages through the box so i'm hoping this issue is resolved. Also I have noticed a new aggressive pit bull around. I know pit bulls are not allowed, so I'm not sure if the apartment doesn't know, or they just pretend to not know. I'm happy there for now, but do wonder if there are better options out there
We thought this complex was beautiful when we first moved in, but shortly after it turned into a nightmare! From numerous maintenance issues, to horribly loud and inconsiderate neighbors, and lets not even start on the disgusting spider problem, the list goes on! Dont bother going to the staff with issues, they never solve the problem! They just tell you what they THINK you want to hear and then hope you forget about it or it just resolves on its own, pathetic management! They say they do thorough backgrund checks and dont accept housing vouchers or section 8, im sorry but a random man coming up to you while you are taking out the trash to ask you for some gas money, leads me to strongly believe otherwise!! They had to hire security for the pool at night because people simply refused to respect the closing time and would party out there till 2am! We can already see this complex will quickly turn into one of those that people avoid like the plague! Cant wait until our lease is up! At least we wouldnt be left feeling like we flush almost $2000 down the toilet every month!

We appreciate your star review of Sunrise Briar Forest. We are always looking for ways to improve. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any additional suggestions about how we can make your stay with us even better in the future.
My wife and I live with 2 dogs in the Parker (1 br 1 ba) floor plan. We moved in May 2015. We love the floor plan and have a balcony overlooking the man-made lake! Here is a list of pros and cons about sunrise: PROS: The amentities are nice. The pool area features 4 outdoor big screen flat tvs with 2 propane grills. The workout room is good size with nice equipment. The community area features a pool table, tv, and a connected computer lab. The management keeps people from staying at the pool too late (10 pm I think?) and they actually enforce it with a police officer that locks the pool every night. The apartments themselves are beautiful. Granite countertops, very high ceilings (at least in the 3rd floor units), flat top electric stoves, stainless steel appliances, W/D in unit, and more. There is also plenty of parking, for now... We received a pretty great grand opening deal. One month free plus $100 dollars off every month after the first free month. Also, dont be afraid to negotiate pet fees at the beginning. CONS: There is almost always a large crowd of people at the pool on the weekends, and most are sure to not actually live at the complex. The management has attempted to do something about this problem, but has failed miserably. The community area has a keurig style coffee machine, but almost NEVER has cups to brew the coffee in. Very frustrating. The office does not accept packages. Residents must enroll in "Parcel Pending", which is a service where the courier can drop packages off if oversized mail boxes for your pick up. This is somewhat of a con because there is a one time $25 fee to set it up, but it's also kinda nice. The dog wash station that was one of the reasons be chose this apartment was supposed to be completed in June. It is now mid September at the time I'm writing this and very little progress has been made. Conclusions: Overall we have enjoyed our apartment. I would recommend this apartment to others. But be sure to do your due diligence while apartment searching. I hear the Elan across the street has a dog park!
