Property Ratings at Sunset Lakes
Beautiful safe and clean place to live in , I have been living here for over two years and I have no complaints. very friendly and reliable staff , clean surroundings and well maintained property .fast response if any goes wrong and fixed immediately .love that residents are appreciated by having events that are very pleasant and fun to participate in ,from our children's to our pets. security on site also very closed to many stores, the mall and highways.
Thank you. Genuinely. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to call the maintenance team, small issues, big issues, whatever it may be I was able to rely on the guys on call during all hours of the night to help me. I feel safe here knowing I am one call away from a haste response to anything I may need. My most recent encounter was with Broc, he is a professional man. He explained everything that he was doing, answered every question I had, and made me feel like I could ask him the most bizarre questions and he would have an answer to. He showed me what the issues were and what likely caused them, and how to avoid them in the future. Sunset Lakes is definitely my favorite apartment complex in Florida, especially since everything is around here!
My girlfriend and I were first time apartment renters and have heard horror stories from offices not assisting to having horrible neighbors. Luckily, Sunset Lakes was very welcoming and office staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to get a 1/1 fully brand new remodeled with stainless steel appliances and new carpet for a very affordable price. Plenty parking, in unit new washer/dryer, pool with new gym machines was a huge plus for us.
This is the type of place that pressure washes the front of its buildings so it looks nice once you pull in but all the backside of the buildings look like trash. Especially with all the trash all over the place in general. Very unprofessional, didn’t used to be like this. All about taking your $$$ here now!
Lee, Lisi, and the whole team at Sunset Lakes do an amazing job at quickly responding and fixing problems. They are some of the most helpful and kind staff I’ve rented from. Maintenance team was also very kind and thorough. The pool was always kept clean and looked great. I frequented the pool with friends and family. I lived on the first floor, and barely heard any noise above me or next to me. The walls are really thick. Updated appliances and renovated kitchen. The kitchen was beautiful. Occasionally would get some troubles with sugar ants, and very rarely would see a roach. But the problem is easily and quickly fixed thanks to staff. This is an exceptional place to live, and I miss living here. I would move back if rent didn’t sky rocket in Florida. If you are thinking about it, do it.
I really enjoy living at Sunset Lakes. Over the past 6 years the leasing staff have always been kind, helpful, and supportive. They have also always done everything they can to accommodate me. My neighbors are wonderful and the complex is quiet and peaceful. Right now the property management company is busy updating the complex by renovating units to update them and giving the overall appearance of the complex a “facelift” with freshly painted buildings and refreshing the landscape. I highly recommend Sunset Lakes as your new home.
Nice quite community. Love living here. Friendly helpful staff.
The rules change daily. The walls are so thin you hear everything. There are always bugs and roaches no matter what. They aren’t open on the weekends so if you need to give your notice you’re screwed they tack on two more days due to no fault of your own. They will tell you one thing one month and another thing the next month as far as what is due upon moveout. There is no quiet time around here and people are constantly speeding throughout the property. They only have one dumpster up by the front office and it fills up before they empty it once a week and trash is piled in front of it. The property manager always acts as if everyone is beneath her and never smiles. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Yes some of the apartments are bigger than apartments in your newer communities but these are outdated and have rust and old appliances.
The property is well maintained. Maintenance men come fast to resolve your issues and they’re nice. The staff in the front office is very nice and helpful. My only complaint would have been having to pay rent with money orders but in September they will start allowing us the option to pay online which is super convenient. The community is beautiful and quiet. I’ve always felt safe. My apartment is beautiful and neighbors are fantastic. I love it here and I literally moved from Arizona with no idea of the property besides this app and I am very happy with the choice I made.
I lucked out I had great neighbors and I never got bothered by anyone or the office. Every time I reported a problem I was able to get the maintenance guy to my apartment that same day. I lived in the shady side 2nd floor apartment so the highest I ever had to pay was $90 in the summer for AC. Water was free. The only other thing I had to pay for was internet/cable (if you want it-not required). I heard of car break ins once, a lady who had some nice rims woke up to her tires stolen and on cinder blocks one morning, 1 building caught fire by the tennis court and another 1 towards the front did at some point as well but it was repaired. In my time at sunset lakes that was the most I ever heard of anything bad happening. That might sound like a lot but I did live there for many years. I felt very safe living there and I’m a single woman with a tiny dog. I moved out because I built a house but from time to time I do think back to my cozy apartment and miss it. I lived there from 2015- beginning of 2018.
The complex looks very nice from the outside, but that is how they bait you. The insulation is so thin you can hear the neighbors speak. Kids run amuck around here until all hours of the night. Maintenance is a joke. They either do not come or don’t fix your problem the first time around. There rodents around the property and rat droppings going up the stairs in several buildings. People spend late nights at the pool and cops are always here. The trash compacted is frequently out of service (only gets picked up once a week) and overflows trash. When the compacted is broken people keep piling their trash, in turn blocking the entrance, drawing rodents and flies. Trash is left all over the grounds. Food is strewn in the back of apartment buildings. The leasing staff is horrible, especially Stephanie. Lisi seems to be the only genuine one there.
The only reason I am giving Sunset Lakes "Condominiums" 2 stars and not 1 is because the units, themselves, are decent. The walls are thick and the appliances are all new, which is a plus. However, management is horrible and often oversteps their boundaries (read on).. I would like to provide background to my situation before diving into the issues here.. I've lived here for quite some time now. I have never been late on rent or had any issues which would traditionally label me as a "bad tenant". However, since living here, management has driven me mad. I have contemplated ending my lease early for months now just because of the trouble they have caused me and others!! For one, they find multiple reasons to invade your privacy- i.e. mandatory, monthly "fire" inspections, "pest control", and other, various "inspections". They have no problem, in fact, "inspecting" your unit while you are not home- in fact, they prefer this. They will even go as far as to take photographs of your unit and belongings while you are not home.. The property manager does NOTHING when it comes to complaints regarding the community: homeless loiters; loud visitors at the pool at 3 am (which is NOT gated & open to the public, keep in mind); disruptive guests, etc. etc. Rather, management is rude and uncooperative with tenants. They hesitate to make repairs and upgrades to the property. In fact, after a building had an electrical fire, they hesitated to "inspect" other units for the same, exact issue. It makes NO sense. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you are interested in finding a home for yourself and your family. With the way things are ran here, your kids would not be safe and you would be wasting your money!!
The floor plans are spacious and it is a great value for the price!
Nice place to live - Just bought my own place, lived there for two years. No problems.
I have lived at Sunset Lakes for four years and have just signed a renewal for another year. It is home to me and I would not think of moving. Location is excellent and the community is lovely. Five Stars.
Recently had to re-located because of my new job. Lived at Sunset Lakes for 3 years. Great place to live. Nice staff and comfortable apartment. Defiantly would live there again if I get posted back to Florida
Sunset Lakes is an excellent place to live! It is right near great restaurants, parks, and all the major shopping places. I also like the interstate being only five minutes down the road. The landscaping is always well maintained, the pool along with the pool area is clean, and the pond in the back is also well kept. There are sitting areas and enough room to play with pets or even throw a football. If you would like to keep your vehicle nice and clean there is an area to do so. I feel like the apartments are just the right size as well and I love mine. The staff is very customer friendly, helpful, and understanding. I'm very happy I got the chance to live in this apartment complex.
These apartments look very nice i would like to stay there
Overall, the apartments are nice and are high valued but the community is loud and full of young kids and the maintenance crew is terrible. They never come on time if at all. I wouldn't live there again. The bugs there are really bad. Even though they do pest control they are still really bad
