With a population of about 101,000, Las Cruces is the largest city in southern New Mexico -- but it doesn't feel that way. With its fantastic mountain views and spacious landscape, the city feels downright cozy. Las Cruces is a college town -- it is the location of New Mexico State University, the only land-grant university in the state. It is also the location of the White Sands Missile Range. Mountains surround Las Cruces, providing amazing views as well as opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and camping.
Due to its impressive landscape, Las Cruces is often used for filming. Some movies filmed here include Hang 'Em High, Twins, and Traffic. After moving to a Las Cruces apartment, be sure to attend some of the city's annual events, which include the Harvest Wine Festival, the Whole Enchilada Fiesta, the Southern New Mexico State Fair, CrucesCon, and Cowboy Days. Landmarks in Las Cruces include its water towers -- many are painted with murals.

Property Ratings at Sunset Peak Apartments
This is probably the most poorly run apartment complex in Las Cruces. Because they have a common water system, any repairs performed leaves the entire complex without water. It Also pushes dirt and corrosion through the system, so every time they fix something, something else gets damaged. This is a constant problem. 9am no water, no notification. I replaced the refrigerator in the unit because theirs leaked and they refused to repair. Their garbage AC systems on the house left me with a summer electric bill of $523. In the winter it was $30. Faulty AC. When I brought it to their attention they responded with, “I don’t dictate what El Paso electric charges.” A month later the AC unit failed. My truck was stolen from the parking lot and a week later our mailboxes were broken into. It took almost 6 months to get the mailbox replaced. My shower had black mold seeping out the seems that weren’t sealed, when our neighbors brought this to their attention in their complex they told them to test it themselves and show them there was black mold present. If you choose to live here, good luck. I would have rated zero stars if it had let me.
Yeah there some issues. Water is always off for emergencies. But they are always fast at fixing issues. But honestly the rent is cheap. It’s quiet!
Office Manager is very professional and friendly!
Issues with this apartment complex. Water is always turned off for "emergencies". Never hot water available. New tenants are bringing the complex down. Too noisy!
