Property Ratings at Sunset Plaza Apartments
I have lived here for two months and do not have any major complaints yet. My unit was clean when I moved in, and management has been helpful. The residents I have talked to have been very friendly, and the apartment has an online portal for us to submit maintenance requests, ask general questions, pay rent, etc. The pool area is well-kept, and there are nice little paths between the buildings for me to walk my dog around. it is also nice that we each get a storage unit in the basement of our building. The floors are quite creaky with the building being older, but my downstairs neighbor is very understanding. All in all, I think this is a great place to live for the price!
I lived here for 7 yrs, the last few yrs things went downhill with new office people and maintenance. The buildings are old, the floors squeak, hallway carpets are gross, and smell. Inside the apartment you’ll get cheap carpet (better hope it’s new because it won’t last) I asked for new carpet after a year or so after I moved in, since mine what’s not new when I moved in, and already looking terrible and was I told I’d have to remove all my furniture first. If I have to do that I might as well move out. You’ll get one wall air conditioner that can’t possibly cool off your apartment, bedrooms are like a sauna. The new maintenance guy is a menace, can’t fix anything and has to be redone by the other maintenance guy. He also constantly stalked my daughters and their friends and made them feel unwelcome in their own home. Rent increases every yr with nothing to show for it, will kill your budget, free heat? Yeah..when it works! Better get a space heater, and prepare for a higher electric bill. Glad I moved!
Ant infestation reported multiple times!! Managment is extermly rude and judgmental. Cleaning crew worker was yelling at a co worker (loud enough that I could hear in apartment)shouting at her very rude language. Water was shut off twice with out notice. Office is rude and hardly seems to care for anyones issues and talks badly about residents as soon as they leave!! Do not live here!
I previously lived here from 2002-2007. Pretty nice apartment community and management was pretty responsive to tenant requests. I particularly enjoyed the haunted house they had at Halloween for the kids...it was pretty nice. All in all a nice centrally located place in Grand Blanc. Heck even my now 18 year old son tells me he enjoyed staying in this apartment complex when he was younger. Go figure!!
I had being a current resident for couple of months now. The location is great for a professional person. I just like stay the staff is friendly and maintenance , and my opinion try make sure everything is working perfect. Sometimes noise level is loud ,but you can find in place, here I like how the apartment staff try get friendly atmosphere here at all times.
This property holds much potential still as it deteriorates with neglected/delayed investment. The site, the grounds have some original old growth trees in the area and will require increasing maintenance to keep them healthy. Parking is a challenge as is access to the site, the latter due to the poor planning of the local municipality. But, 'all things considered,' it is a comfortable place to call home.
Apartment community is nice and clean and is well taken care of. Is a older community but well maintained. Has very nice mature trees and landscape. Would recommend it.
I don't even know where to begin with this place. When we finally got all of our stuff moved in we found a huge carpenter ant problem in the walk-in closet. We had to take everything out, wash it and/or throw it away. They charged us $40 a month for our cats and then when we moved out they charged us $134 to replace the entire carpet because they could 'smell urine' throughout. Well duh, we had just had a litterbox in there. There was no urine or stains on the carpet and they refused to work with me on this. I had a friend who lived there who also got scammed out of part of her deposit. The whole place clearly has not been updated since it was built in the '60's either, so be ready for everything you have to be awful.
