Boyds-Leslie Park is a small neighborhood between Montgomery Boulevard and Katson Avenue North East. Most of the neighborhood is residential with affordable apartments for rent in a variety of styles. Although there isn’t much opportunity for shopping and dining in Boyds-Leslie Park, the neighborhood sits a few minutes west of Albuquerque’s commercial district, so residents have access to just about anything they could want or need. Places like Montgomery Plaza, an amusement park, countless restaurants serving almost every cuisine, department stores, a movie theater, and more are located in this area. For a break from retail, residents journey immediately north of town to enjoy Arroyo del Oso Park, a golf course, and hiking trails.

Property Ratings at Sunset Pointe
Sunset point used to be great but has become terrible over the past year and a half. First the elevators were constantly out of service which was very difficult when you live on the 4th floor, next the plumbing, they have turned off the water at least once a week due to emergencys for the last 8 months. Then they changed to having an outside service process the electric bills, which then doubled since they started charging us for water trash sewer etc. To top all that they have decided to rent out the office and pool for a movie, which is taking at least half of the residents parking including the covered parking which is paid for by renters without offering any compensation to it's resident s for the inconvenience, yet they are getting paid to do it. Save your money go elsewhere. I know I sure am.

For the first couple months it was awesome, but then it was bad. Our car was stolen things got taken off the door, management won’t do anything to help you find anything that’s stolen. I’ve talked to neighbors and people have all said the same thing it is horrible living here. The cameras said are no where to be found. Security doesn’t help with anything. The only good thing is the maintenance men who are angels and always helpful. Management is the worst by far here. Your bills and cars WILL be stolen and no one will do anything to help you

I love living here. The building is very solid that has great sound insulation. I am never bothered by noises from neighbors next doors or upstairs. The courtyard is beautiful and has a couple of grills. I enjoy having barbecue, sitting under the tree shade in the courtyard in summer time. I will definitely recommend here.

Been here 5 years. Love the courtyard. The roses and stream are so beautiful. It is very beautiful during a rainy day. The staff are awesome and during the pandemic still can smile and wave hi through closed doors.

I’ve been here for a year and plan to renew my lease for many years. A well maintained courtyard, nice pool, great gym and recreation room. Excellent office and maintenance staff. They probably should hire a new elevator repair company because at times it stops working in the winter and the company isn’t reliable. Other than that, I love it here!
Beautiful central courtyard with a stream and a pool. The staff is wonderful and I never heard my neighbors because of the cement slab construction. I loved living here!
This place doesn’t deserve one star. Don’t rent here. The office staff are rude and unprofessional. Jennifer and Jaime don’t know what customer service means. The property is not safe, my car was broken into multiple times and the office didn’t do anything or care. In the leasing office there are cameras showing areas around the property but it doesn’t matter because when there is a break in the staff won’t be bothered to review them. The windows don’t lock, and when I tried to secure my window with a stick, A note was placed on my door saying it needed to be removed or I would be fined. There are signs all around the property from the Albuquerque police warning residents to lock their cars. The only reason there are any good reviews is because Sunset point pays residents to write good reviews for them. The apartment complex is four stories high and even though there are two elevators, they are broken more often than not. The apartments are old and bugs are everywhere. If you’re looking for a new home, look elsewhere. The only positive are the maintenance staff. They are very nice.
I have lived in this apartment for 2 and a half years and it has only gotten worse since I moved in. Our bathroom shower has a leaky ceiling that drains into the tub whenever it rains. This has been reported 5 times over the course of my stay here and never once has it been looked at. In late 2017, the water was shut off almost every other day with little warning or explanation as to why; at one point one of the notices claimed "too many people were using their water" for them to fix whatever they needed to be fixed so they had to do it again, which sounds made up and puts blame on the tenants for no reason. The elevator constantly breaks down and is fixed only to sound as if it will fall apart on the same day. My pregnant wife was once stuck between floors on the elevator and had to pry the door open to crawl out. Add this to some problems in the office, in which my wife's application to be added to the lease was unwittingly shredded and their lack of lenience over being late for the first time in over two years on rent by only hours, it is apparent they do not care and only see their tenants as dollar signs. Can't wait until this lease ends in 2018!
I wrote a review a while back I believe I gave it three stars but I'm changing it to four stars because I've noticed big attitude change with one of the staff members. They deserve five stars because of how tidy they keep this complex. The gym is always clean, and the pool has NEVER been dirty. Other than one girl, the staff has always been more than welcoming. But her attitude has changed so my rating has changed. But I am giving it a four-star review because when I moved in we were told to not turn off the air conditioner I usually have all the lights off and don't use the gas a lot but my utility bill is around $200 a month because of the fact that we have five fans in the house and are constantly running air conditioner. And it's STILL HOT. I have a buddy that lives here as well and he has the same problem. Other then that I am happy and satisfied with this apartment.
Very friendly staff at first, but don't really feel very welcome after you move in. Any little thing comes up and you get a 7 day notice, before even a phone call. My friend got one for leaving his flip flops outside his door, and I got one for my service dog pooping in the courtyards. I love my apartment besides the fact it almost caught fire while I was asleep due to my faulty air conditioner. Speaking of my air conditioner, my apartment reaches 100 degrees while the air conditioner is on HIGH, there's really nothing they can do about it I guess. Also, If my service dog even pees on their holy grass my home will be lost, I already have been verbally warned. Other then all that, the laundry facilities are up to par, the pool is always clean, the scenery is beautiful, the area is ok. I say the area is just ok because of the Montgomery drag racing in the middle of the night. Any apartment in Albuquerque isn't very "homie" I have lived in about 10 different complexes and they're all the same. Just look forward to the day of home owning.
I've always lived in a house and this was my first appartment living in. From the outside you wouldn't think there as nice as they are. I was skeptical at first but I'm so glad I got a tour. I fell in love instantly! So much more sq feet than what you would pay for in other places for less Sq footage. It's peaceful and quiet here and I never have problems with my neighbors. Management always fixes your issues right away if there's any concerns. It's pet friendly which is a plus since I have a Chihuahua attached to my hip. And it's conveniently located near everything. I've lived here for almost 6 months and plan to renew my lease. For my first appartment I'm very impressed!
I have been living here for 2 years and enjoy everything it has it to offer very quiet and Neighbor's are polite maintenance and office are always on top of everything that needs to be done in the apartment I highly recommend this apartment
I have lived at Sunset Pointe Apts. for several years. There are several people who have been here longer than me. The staff put on community events like pot lucks and catered get-togethers for the residents. If I have a problem they usually address it immediately. They fix anything that is wrong usually within a day. Inspection and replacement of fire alarm batteries, heating and air conditioner filters are done bi-yearly. The grounds and public areas are well maintained by regular staff and professional landscapers. It is near by and assessable to everything. Good restaurants, grocery stores, parks and so much more. And most importantly the apartments are filled with wonderful light! My orchids and other plants love it!
We've been here at Sunset Pointe for about a year now and we absolutely love it! All staff are very helpful and all neighbors are kind! The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. Here at sunset pointe its a very quiet and safe place to live. I highly recommend Sunset Pointe if you are looking for a beautiful, safe place to live!
We love this place! It does't look look like anything special from the outside, but the inside is beautiful. We love the "babbling brook" outside our our unit and we can't wait for our little ones (1st one on the way!) to enjoy the playground. The apartments don't have the more luxurious features (gas stoves, laundry in unit, fireplaces etc) of some of the other places we've looked at, but then again they are over $100/month cheaper. The staff has been nothing but friendly and the office hours are the best we have seen anywhere. We plan to stay here until we can afford to buy a home of our own.
Worst experience ever!!! We'll never try this place for living and call it our next home at any price and would continue to communicate our first experience with the property senior management: On Saturday 10/22 2016, I and my spouse with our two kids (one three months old) went to see the complex at 4:10pm local time. We called the leasing office in advance. Unfortunately, my spouse did forget to bring her State ID while she had her CNM (Photo ID) and original SOCIAL SECURITY card -- which wasn't accepted by this unprofessional and with less customer service experience lady (Jennifer) at the property's leasing office. She demanded for her State ID, so I decided to drive back home and grab her State ID. The lady told us if we could make it back by 430pm, we will be able to see the property. So, we did return with the requested ID at 429pm according to leasing office "WALL CLOCK" and didn't know that this unprofessional lady will make another stupid excuse; she told us that her computer clock is 431pm now, so she cannot proceed with the request. We were totally shocked and tried showing her the leasing office WALL CLOCK which was 429pm but she ignored and kept telling us that her computer clock shows 431pm and she does not go by WALL CLOCK. She turned her face and didn't talk further, she never apologized for the inconvenience. Her reaction was so rude that we can't explain in writing.
