Property Ratings at Sunset Ridge
MOVE HERE IF YOU ENJOY GETTING ROBBED AND YOUR PROPERTY VANDALIZED. This was one of the worst apartment complexes I have ever dealt with. The leasing office was of course nice when you first move in. But dealing with them after you sign the lease is when everything changes. I’ve never had to go back to a leasing office so many times because they fail to do their job and then they proceed to blame you or that they just didn’t do it. Pure laziness. They can name off every excuse in the book as to why they didn’t or can’t do something for you. They literally have no care for their residents or their property. My apartment as well as many other residences have been burglarized and they do not have a care in the world about it. Literal words from the leasing office “we do not care and it’s not our problem.” I had a gate key fob that I paid for that never got activated because of their failure to activate it. I went three days a week for six weeks to get it activated and their excuse was that “ I just didn’t do it”. They all have attitudes if you ask them to do something for your apartment and the manger is the worst of them all. They talk to you however they feel like once you’ve signed the lease. Consider other options before coming to The Sunset Ridge Apartments
When I mean this is the worst complex I have ever lived in I really do mean that. The first apartment I had moved into where the floor was covered in dead insects. After being brought up we were changed to another unit. Constant issues with the A/C. The maintenance staff had maybe one qualified HVAC tech who told me that the units will not go below 70 degrees. When I asked why that was he told me they were manufactured that way. The exterminator for the complex can be scheduled a month out and had to be spraying such a diluted mixture it was practically water. Numerous water pressure issues and dirty pipes. The " renovated " apartments were shoty at best. The office staff have the most abysmal communication skills. If you have an issue you will more than likely have to discuss it in person. A unreliable online payment system so just know that you may have to make a money order trip. The "security " is there to get kickbacks from the towing companies when they feel like working. The complex is in proximity to dopefiend central. The 1 parking space you get is great until are a 2 vehicle home where you need to park a couple streets down. I cannot stress how bad this complex was and if you have the opportunity to go elsewhere do it.
Worse part about this apartment is the management. They are rude , unprofessional and doesn’t know what they are doing . We were promised with the upgraded one with microwave but gave us the opposite one on move in day.Every person in there would tell you 100 different answers and just try to figure out on your own . FrontDesk people is hardly there nor answer their phone. They charge us for light bulb that wasn’t even working when we first got there and on top of that we got charge $50for 1 day after we already move out .Lastly waiting for our security deposit that was suppose to come 21 days after move out date.
We put in a 60 day notice & suddenly they are saying that we never put it in & when we explained when we did they blamed my husband saying that it was his fault that he didn’t remember the person that he gave it to. DO NOT RENT HERE. IF YOU DO WATCH THAT THEY ACTUALLY PUT YOUR PAPER WORK IN YOUR FILE. They wouldn’t even pass me over to management when I asked several times.
too expensive! AC does not work. the people at the leasing office are very rude you can rent a home for the same price or cheaper. moving next month so excited!
Property Manager at Sunset Ridge, Responded To This Review
We apologize for the issues you've experienced, including the AC and our office staff's approach. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in your new home.
They get you in for a low cost then after a year they raise the rent a $100 dollar more. And there AC is not working that I end up paying $200 a month for 3months last year called them to fix it 3x until the 3rd time turn out it was the thermostat wasn't working properly needed to be replaced and said I'm still responsible for how much my electric bills went up high even though it was there error. Same thing again this year 2020. Same problem my AC not working again it's 89° degrees inside my apartment and my 11 year old son complained how hot it is inside called them twice they said I just have to wait whenever they come because I'm not the only tenant that needs some work done. Yeah I heard that..... I'm so done in this place...
The staff is not knowledgeable. Prices are to high for the outdates apartment. In the summer my apartment stayed at 90 in the day as they refused to update my air condition unit!
so came in happy to see the apartments crystal helped me out took me to go see the model beautiful layout I was sold so I applied that day so I called her 2 days later to see about my application and said to give her one more day so called the following day and she was really rude so i asked her to speak to her manager and she passed the phone to her mother mom was nice but with that being said I'm sure she's getting away with most and everything so conflict of interest !!!
So first off the location of this complex isn't too bad, it's close to the freeway, markets, parks, and shopping. It is a big complex therefore pricing isn't too bad, with that being said unfortunately there aren't any other qualitis to look forward to. The apartments are out of date and could use some much needed care and maintenance. The management dosent care what's going on, and they do as little as possible to fix any sort of situation. Also there are a lot of apartments are broken into as well as cars (our car was just broken into a week ago) there have even been cars stolen from the complex. In all I wouldn't suggest picking this place as your next home unless you has no other choice.
I just moved in an our apt. its great , new wooden floors, brand new carpet and fresh paint! Our neighbors our friendly and the environment is nice! FOUR pools, gym, in apt laundry hook ups and onsite security. Office staff is nice an courteous.
fairly huge complex of apartment bldgs well within the desirable west side area with ample covered parking and nightly security. the grounds are quiet, scenic and generously treed providing much needed shade and more climate control during summer. daytime walks are pleasant throughout the complex of virtually sparse foot traffic and non-existent noise or commotion. most activities if ever are concentrated in the pool area or laundry next to the office by resident groups and individuals going about legitimate family fun times or chores. studios and 1 beds are small to reasonably sized but the 2 beds are the ones impressive space-wise, but very very limited. occupancy hardly drops from a hundred percent.
This is the absolute worst place I have ever lived! Parts have been stolen off my vehicle twice, my son's car was broken into in the daytime, and another time someone stole the whole back wheel off his car. Not to mention the fact that it is very unsafe here. I do not go out at night. All kinds of foot traffic around here night and day. No use to complain, because nothing is ever done, and you are told that you live here at your own risk. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, if I had one. Totally insane. I am trying to fin another place before I have to sign another lease. I would rate this apartment building as poor.
Entering the facility I've notice the groomed grounding. Right down the street from Kaiser the place was huge. The staff was knowledgeable about the metro and friendly. It seemed a little quirky when you had to give your driver license and if you didn't have it you couldn't view the apartment. But once going into the the apt it was clean, carpeted and the paint job was nice (however, this was an model). I never saw the original apartment and at the end of the tour the staff mentioned it wasn't available. The living room was small but quaint compared to the other places I've looked. The kitchen was simple and the cabinets were a little outdated but for the money well maintained. The community was quite; as I saw very few people walking around, since it was hot during the weekend. The bedroom was a decent size that you could fit a queen size bed in and the bathroom was next to it but I don't remember the closet space for sheets, towels etc. After the tour I was told the parking was going to cost this for either a garage or port. Shouldn't be already in the rent since a tenet lives there? I thought that was a little out there. It was going to cost this and that for other amenities after 90 days of living there (sorry, I forget what it was). Other apts that would be available were going for $860 or $890 (1bd) because they didn't place it on their site. A big leap from $760 in the beginning. As for pets, there is a deposit unless your pet is a service dog. What I liked about the place is if anything goes wrong someone there is going to fix it right away for emergency purposes, but to enter the apt the tenet would have to give the approval. All in all, if you can deal with all the additional cost on top of the rent this would be a nice place to live.
Me and my family ( 3 kids ) live in a 2 bed/1 bath home , we want to have more space but we really can't afford no more, because of my health situation. I love my family and if ever I have a chance to win for this apartment.com its a big blessed for us to have a better place to stay and its free of rent too. This place has no concrete ground outside , so we always have dirt when it blows big wind and mud when it rains . drains always a problem ( tub & sinks ), ground bugs around. All we can say ... Wishing we can get a better one than here.
when you drive in during the day its just beautiful you see sometimes you kids playing, you can smell of the pool, and we have a gym.The people that work in the office are just nice and they give out lemon water(i don't like it because it taste nasty but nice)we also have a gym. i give it 4 stars because they waste water on the sprinklers and i think the extra water that goes into the street can be used for the plants again this place is a village of some good people.
