Property Ratings at Sutton Crossings
I am beyond disappointed with living here. Since moving in I have faced so many problems. I have expressed multiple concerns regarding my electric since day one and received multiple bills excessively high. When I say high, over $300 per month on top of gas, and water. I do not recommend living here because on top of the electric being high, the staff does not care. They are not concerned with helping out the residents but rather making money. Not to mention the pool has been restricted even after covid is over, the fitness is not accessible after hours as explained in the lease. I will not recommend living here to anyone and I will not be renewing my lease.
I have been here for 3 years plus ! I Love It here! The apartments are really nice. I would tell other people it is the place to live!.All the people that work here are the best! You need something fixed they are right on the ball. The pool is really clean and a nice place to sunbathe and they provide loungers. I feel safe because the inside door you have to have a key.The yards are kept up and the big thing is nature from deer and birds, rabbits, squirrels. It is very quiet here and beautiful here!!!! I Love It!! Diana Bowman
My husband and I have lived at Sutton Crossings for almost 2 years. We love it here! Sarah Miller, the manager is the nicest, most helpful person! She is what management should be. The pool is heated and clean, plus they have a hang out room with a pool table. In-suite washers and dryers plus garages! Great location with walking distance to Walmart, Lowe's, the BMV, plus many more restaurants and stores! We have only had a couple of maintenance issues which we called in. The helpful maintenance worker was there within minutes to the hour! If you want a high-quality place to live I highly recommend Sutton Crossings!
I've lived here for a couple months now and I like it so far. Parking gets a little tight especially during weekends, great place if you're going to school at Kent State. (approx. 15 min drive). The washer and dryer in the unit have been really handy and being next to a Walmart has been so convenient. You can hear your neighbor's doors slam frequently and hear their conversation in the hallway. Bugs have not been a problem, I have yet to see any bug bigger than a penny. There are cats outside around the complex but most of them will run away or are really friendly. I recommend living on the third floor so you don't have to hear your upstairs neighbors stomp all day. Everyone in my building keeps to themselves, there's no obnoxious neighbors or parties going on. Clean apartment/hallways. Leasing office ladies are super nice.
these apartments are built so cheap the walls are paper thin you can hear every noise i have gotten woke up by the people upstairs going pee in the middle of the night no sound insulation at. all the windows do not insulate from the hot or cold the water pipes have no insulation on them it takes forever to get hot water and in a very short amount of time after turning the water off its cold again they will raise your rent every year for no reason gross builders are a rip off we have a 1/2 inch gap in our sliding glass door that bugs and snow come in that they won't fix the pool closes at 8 so most working people don't get to use it last time i checked i was an adult i should be able to go swimming whenever i want for as much as i pay a month you can't even keep your grill on your patio they trap you with their lease if you want to move you have to pay even more a month. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY MOVING HERE.
I've lived in apartments only for about 20 years now. Sutton Crossings is among the top of the list. Everyone, including neighbors, are nice. I really think the two reviews here are either unsatisfied people with a grudge, or the problems they wrote about were isolated and no longer exist. I've lived here almost three years, and have NEVER seen one bug other than an occasional fly or some hornets outside on the deck. Maintenance is very nice and responsive. We've had three or so property managers since I've been here, and two out of three were great (including the current one), and one was just ok. Everything is newer and updated and kept clean. There is hard water, so you do get some lime in clothes and dishwasher. Mail and package pickup are easy. You can pay your rent online. I don't have any neighbor issues other than the occasional child crying, or doors shutting loudly as folks go to work. I plan to stay here until my job moves.
I just moved here and the apartment is perfect ! Meghan in the office has been a huge help, and any little issues have been handled right away. The neighbors I have met are very nice. I'm so glad I moved here !
When I lived here we went through staff changes all the time. I loved everything about the apartment: the amazing walk-in closet, washer/dryer that you don't have to pay to use or leave your apt to do, cleanliness, safety, quiet, everything. However, when you see your maintenance man routinely drunk and partying in the parking lot, it raises questions regarding professionalism and background checks. Did NOT receive my deposit back. I thoroughly cleaned every square inch of my apt before moving out....cleaned for two weeks to ensure everything was perfect, and they deemed that I put burn marks on the carpet and that I put cracks in the walls and doors. Instead of receiving my deposit back, they charged me an additional $750 in repairs! Not cool.
I have been at this apartment complex for the past two years. Overall this community is great. I do wish they allowed dogs at this apartment complex. They only allow cats for those cat lovers out there. The staff is friendly and the grounds/building are in good shape. This apartment does have a washer/dryer in each apartment so that is very nice. There are a lot of students living in these apartments since there are about 5 colleges in the area. Keep that in mind unless you prefer living with the students.
I'm very confused by older reviews. I've been here for about a year and a half and love it. I live on the third floor and never see or hear any neighbors around me unless they're coming up the hallway steps loudly. Let's be honest, things break. Maintenece has always been quick and helpful when I've had issues. The office staff has always been friendly to me as well. The pool is a great summer escape, and the location to Walmart and the other nearby stores is definitely convenient. I can't believe other tenants had bug issues--I actually find it strange all the time that I've never even found a little spider or anything, completely spotless! The water is hard and it shows when using the dishwasher, but that's just the water source and can be fixed with the purchase of some lime cleaning products. My only complaint is that it's definitely on the pricey end and no utilities are included. I can't currently afford to pay for garage space, which would be nice. But if I'm being really honest, I'll pay a little extra rent for the in-suite washer and dryer and it's convenience compared to other nearby apartments that have facilities or nothing. Closets are also huge and a very nice amenity. I'd recommend Sutton Crossings to anyone and will probably stay here until I eventually buy a house.
I am an older adult who hasn't rented in many years and had my doubts about apartment living. In the time I have lived here I have seen NO evidence of the issues addressed in the negative reviews. I have found it to be quiet, safe and clean. I had a few minor maintenance issues that were addressed immediately. In both cases I received an immediate follow-up call to inquire as my satisfaction of the repair. I have found the office and maintenance staff to be very competent and friendly! The apartment was squeaky clean when I moved in and the common areas are kept clean as well. I would recommend Sutton Crossings !!
I honestly don't know where all these negative reviews are from. I live on the first floor and I never hear my neighbors above me. I rarely hear anyone in the building unless they are in the hallway or if a small child is screaming at the top of their lungs - it's usually very quiet and I rarely hear anything outside of my apartment. I feel very safe here - there are lots of families, graduate & medical students, and some older, retired people here and I never feel uncomfortable or unsafe. When I moved in, I had all new flooring and everything was pristine. Whenever I have had a maintenance issue (including an emergency at 2 am), someone has been at my apartment very quickly. I haven't had any issues with bugs. Staff has always been very friendly to me and I've had no issues with their demeanor or attitude. I love how close it is to Walmart and to 76. Overall, I think it's a good place to live!
Never had issues like the other reviewers on here. Lived in a unit overlooking the swimming pool, building was kept clean, dumpsters never overflowing, maintenance always fixed issues quickly, office personnel always friendly. Can't say I would give a good review to the washer/dryer or dishwasher. Overall a safe, clean place to live. Lucked out with all nice neighbors. Rent was a bit pricey.
Just wrote a review on Google. Thinking to help a little bit more people. :) We lived there for almost 3 years. Very glad that we moved out successfully though we lost all the deposit (we kind of know this may happen from other people's experience, but just want to see what is going to happen after a very careful cleaning). We rented a 3rd floor apartment, so we were quite happy for the first 1 and a half years. But I did hear that things are quite different if you are in the lower floors unless the apartment above you has nobody there (this may actually happen often). I even don't remember who was the manager at the beginning since it was quite easy to work with the office and the maintenance at that time. But things started to change. The manager we remember is quite rude and can make very small things like picking up a package very unpleasant. Now they never care about being nice, but only about money. They seem to have problems to find enough people living there. But the way they do it is to make it difficult for people to move out. For example, they changed the month-by-month renting after one-year to signing clauses for job-relocation and house-buying ($75/month each). For us, both could happen at that time, but did not want to pay for both. Luckily we paid for the house purchasing claus and we bought a house first. (We have more painful experience with them, but maybe it will be too long for you to read.) Bottom line: this is not a horrible place to live if you have good neighbors. But certainly I will not recommend to anyone.
I had a constant battle with cockroackes! Gross! The tenants who live here are so disgusting! The halls constantly smell like foreign food and garbage. The office staff don't seem to care: all they say is that they'll contact corporate. Nothing ever happens! The location isn't too bad. It's right next to a busy walmart and the highway. The walls are so flimsy, though. Everytime somebody closes a door, you hear a loud slam and it wakes me up at night. In addition, there are street lights glaring right into my bedroom. I put up blackout curtains, but it didn't help. I just can't stand living here: it's horrible. Avoid this disgusting slum at all costs!! Don't ignore the negative reviews like I did. Thank god I'm only trapped in this lease for a year. I'm leaving as soon as possible!

Just left a comment on Google, and thinking to help a little bit more people. We lived there for almost 3 years. Sutton Crossings is by far, the worst place I've ever lived. The office staff are rude and never around. The maintenance staff spend all day drinking in the garage across the parking lot from my apartment and staring into my window. They knocked over some houseplants I had on my patio and just laughed. The apartments constantly have problems with bugs: most likely due to the dumpsters constantly overflowing. I had constant problems with cockroaches, pill bugs and millipedes. There just aren't enough dumpsters around for the overcrowded conditions. The walls are paper thin and I can hear the conversations of my neighbors and the constant banging of their feet. I've lived in apartments all my life, and these mass-produced cardboard apartments are just horrible to live in. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes properly even with a speck of food on them and the dryer always had to be run twice. Don't get sucked into the trap. The apartments look nice on the outside and the office staff are initially awesome, but as soon as you've signed the lease, it all changes. And don't even get me started about moving out! Good luck ever seeing your deposit again. They'll rack up so many random charges and turn you into collections if you don't pay their ridiculous charges within 7 days. It's complete extortion. I would look somewhere else to live and avoid Sutton Crossings at all costs!
