Property Ratings at Sutton Pointe Apartments
I would rate it lower but when we moved in, I'll admit they seemed to try to take care of things. Otherwise, this is a smoking allowed property meaning people could smoke in the apartment and even after many complaints to request our downstairs refused to smoke outside, causing smells to permeate through the building. Management could not do anything about it. They showed me a unit with a normal ceiling but the unit they gave was dirtier and had a popcorn ceiling. Smells reeking throughout. We could not see the actual apartment before we moved in. A tree fell during a storm and management did not take care of it for at least a month even though it blocked a walking entrance to the parking lot. Almost every storm the power goes out. It is nice to have a washer and dryer in unit.
It is run by Penny Pinchers who do not take responsibility for finding Ways of dumping all their responsibilities on to the tenants why they lay Lehigh however back and collect the money you have to pay all the expenses that's why everything is electric all the utilities why they kick back and raise the rent every single month so watch your wallets they don't want people to know the truth so they monitor and only approve of positive reviews just like every other apartment complex they feed you the second hand car sales pitch welcome to the neighborhood why they slowly behind your back and do everything they can coming up with ways of picking your wallet between what they're charging for rent every month and all the utilities included you're better off getting a townhouse condo or mortgage so you really have to do your homework and read between the lines of what really goes on underneath the dirt their Bottom Feeders who find ways to purchase any way they can locations and then Jack the price is through the roof by claiming it's in a nice town and good location and use it to their advantage to jack up the rents
My husband and I had been looking for apartments for at least 6 months before we found this development. We chose this complex because of what it offered for the price, and its proximity to the train station and parkway. A definite deciding factor were the appliances. Call me spoiled, but I needed a washer/dryer in the apartment and they had them. We also have a dishwasher and microwave. All things that we couldn't get at other apartments in Monmouth County for the same price! It also helped that the apartment is beautiful. The windows are big and provide wonderful, natural light. It was spotless, and everything was in good condition. So far we've only needed to call maintenance once for a light bulb change and they came quick and were very nice. Parking is good, there are a lot of spots on the street that are nice when you have groceries, and there are ample spots in the lots for each building. They also recently paved many of them. The complex is nice, quiet, and well manicured. As we both commute, we would also say that the area boasts little to no congestion at peak hours in the morning or evening. Lastly, the leasing staff is lovely. They are very friendly throughout the leasing and move-in processes. It's really hard not to love this place!
Right now I'm listening to loud buzzing and banging and chizzling in the vacant apartment above me. The maintenance guys are being so loud it's like they are in the room with me, I can't even think straight. There was no warning or notice for this whatsoever. There's dog feces everywhere, the dryers take 3 times to dry, they are trying to charge us for ridiculous things when we move out, and the girls at the office are rude. Never move here.
I'm a current resident. I regret every bit of moving here. It is the MOST EXPENSIVE appartments in town. I think it's insane what my utilities are each month on top of rent that is more than most mortgages. The parking lots are very dark and uncomfortable at night. I've even found a syringe on the ground while walking my dog. They gym advertised is the size of a bedroom and the "dog park" is grass with a fence. There is dog feces everywhere! No one picks it up, possibly because there aren't any garbages to throw it in unless you walk a mile to a dumpster. The worst decision I've ever made. If you want to rent in this town, you're better off at any other complex. It is just as nice. Trust me.
My fiancée and I moved here a few months ago after we found out we were having a baby. We previously lived in a very bad area and, once we found out the news, decided to look for somewhere a little more family-friendly. We looked around Asbury, Middletown, Red Bank, etc. for over a month trying to find a place. Luckily, we didn't settle and came to visit Sutton Point. Neither of us know anything about Matawan, but the location (close to the parkway), and the environment stuck with us. We lucked out and applied when the deposit fee was reduced. The whole process was made very easy by the staff here. I've had all pleasant experiences except one where the staff rushed me out of the office before 5:30 saying they were closed. I get it, sometimes it's just time to go. Anyway, the community is pretty nice, a lot of younger commuter-types. And VERY DOG FRIENDLY. We don't currently have a dog here but we live right next to the community dog park and it is great! We also spend as much time as possible by the pool which has a lifeguard named Danny, who is a really good young kid. Rent is a little expensive but you get what you pay for. Overall we have been very satisfied with living here and plan to move into a 2BR here when our lease is up and the baby needs his own space. Thank you guys for giving our family a place to grow!!!
We have lived here for a year and a half and plan to sign on for another year. It's not bad. Having an in unit washer/dryer is huge. And it's very dog friendly. Our biggest complaints are that the parking lots are full of giant pot holes. They need to be repaved badly. People don't clean up after their dogs, but that's not management's fault. There are some maniacs that live here, but overall nice people prevail. We've recommended it to two friends who have both moved in
