Property Ratings at Swissaire Apartments
Pros: Secured code entries to front, back and parking lot sections of property Pool and grounds always kept clean Management has been great thus far Covered parking at no charge (if you're granted one) Location is pretty good No roaches or any other critters Cons: NOISE, my goodness living by the stairs is AWFUL. Front or back of the property because people are so dang loud stomping or talking LOUDLY like no one else lives here. There is an Asian crew who live here in multiple units through out the complex and they are SO loud. They love to make most noise around 10pm and on. They also love grocery shopping late and pushing a SHOPPING cart all the way to their unit with their bags of groceries and pushing the cart all the way back to where they got it! Any section on the complex you live in will suck noise wise because the way they are laid out, you will HEAR everything! The pool noise during summer gets wild during day and night, they now have pool hours but no one really obeys and boy does noise travel within this complex! They have a beautiful grassy courtyard that NO ONE uses at all and NO DOGS allowed. That sucks, that was the closest "yard" I was able to let my pup run around in and after I've been gone all day. So there goes that. AC/Heat, old school building comes with old school ways. The central air and heat is operated by management due to that very reason of this place being so old. So I guess so far how it goes is management will use the current weather as judgement for whether or not they will officially switch the AC on for summer and heat on for winter. I bought a fan because I'm not chancing it in this Texas Heat. The hideous ancient green carpet in the "halls" just has to go, it's definitely like you took a step back in time. Yeah rent is cheap, for now... I saw online rent already went up, also due to all these new townhouse and apartments being built around us. It would be ok for rent to go up if this place was modernized somewhat. Everything inside is ancient as well. But I needed a place to stay FAST within my budget and well... I found one I guess. Lastly, parking. Not sure how this works or how it's determined but I was fortunate to get a parking spot assigned to me in the secured lot in the back. If you're not as fortunate as I am then you will have a parking spot outside the complex in the back parking lot of the Mexican grocery store or any available street parking. That has to suck!
My husband and I lived here for over three years and really enjoyed our time at 4125 Swiss. While it's an older complex, it is a safe and quaint community in an area we LOVE. The management has consistently been helpful and we never had any problems. They've done a good job with the inside aesthetics (flooring and paint choices). Some of the apartments have amazing brick wall accents. We've never had bug issues. Seriously...you won't find such large closets in most apartments. We lived in two different apartments in the complex and l was impressed both times with the closet/storage. The downside is that because they are older, there are a few "modern conveniences" these apartments don't have - i.e. dishwasher, disposal, and stainless appliances. Honestly, though...for the location and safety factors, it's the best deal I've been aware of in the gem of old east Dallas. We highly recommend.
These apartments were bought by a new company from NY in early 2015 and it's been TERRIBLE since.EVERYthing went up and NOTHING improved. The rent you would pay here IS NOT WORTH IT!!..a very old complex with a foundation problem and A/C issues as well.Proceed with caution
