Property Ratings at Switchyard
Horrible customer service-no responding to problems at property. Nowhere to be seen during freeze of piping. Expected maintenance man and leasing guy to take water out of property. No manager here.calling for change-u went downhill.

When you have a moment, we encourage you to contact us at corporatecontact@alapts.com. We hope to hear from you soon.
Once you've signed your lease communication with the office is impossible. They never answer the phone or reply to emails. The fobs would not work often, so sometimes we were stuck outside our apartment for 20 mins. They charged us $200 to change the carpet for two little snags in the corner which were already there when we moved in(and we were the first to live there)

SAFETY: Both my neighbors and my vehicles were broken into while living here. When we called and asked if they had cameras the only thing they were concerned about was whether or not we would be calling the police. They stated they only have cameras facing the property. In addition to the amount of homeless people and the times that police had to be called here I would say that I did not feel safe living here. STAFF: The old company was kind and was always smiling, waving, and available to answer questions. At this location the maintenance guys never say hi and sit on the corner giving you dirty looks while they smoke. In addition, getting a hold of or getting a call back from Michael or Monica is impossible. When you call the gentleman who mans the front desk answers and can never help you but will leave a message so the managers can call you back which of course they never do. EXTREMELY unresponsive. MAINTENANCE: Every month they would require entry into the home to do "maintenance" which usually required a 5 minute inspection or to change or add something useless. That isn't a big issue but they would take a week to go through every apartment and wouldn't give you a date or time or anything. So for a week every month I had to lock my dog in a room or cage and again, they wouldn't even be willing to tell me what day they would be there. I understand they have things they need to do but the lack of respect for my time and life was pathetic. In addition my neighbor had her microwave literally catch on fire and they refused to do anything about it and my oven did not work for the last 3-4 months of my lease and then they charged me when it wasn't clean at move out. When I tried to fight it they refused to answer my calls and then sent it to collections. I'VE NEVER BEEN SO DISGUSTED WITH A COMPANIES BUSINESS PRACTICES IN MY LIFE. MOVING OUT: Upon moving out you can look forward to being nickled and dimed for every little thing. I will attach pictures of everything they noted and charged me for including the outside of the apartment (in the community hallway) which I guess I am responsible for, cleaning the oven that did not work for the last 4 months of my lease that is going in the trash after, and all of the other things that were not wrong with the apartment. You also can look forward to them ghosting you and the sending it to collections afterward.

Switchyard has been the best move in experience I have had so far! Move in day was awesome and all the office staff are very welcoming. Love my new apartment and cannot wait to use the pool and the pool lounge!
Property Manager at Switchyard, Responded To This Review
Welcome to the community! We are thrilled to hear that our team provided the best move-in experience you have ever had. Enjoy the amenities.
Love the pet wash, how clean it is and close to rail system. I am saving money by riding rail to downtown Dallas. We appreciate all of the team members at Switchyard.
Great changes in office. Maintenance is on top of their game. Everyone ready to assist you. Thank you for new management and staff. Love my apartment.

Thank you for taking the time to express satisfaction with our community. We are proud to be worthy of your 5-star rating!
I walked in, told them what I needed and was out the same day with my apt locked in!
The property is very nice and clean. Everyone from the front office to the maintenance team was very nice
This apartment complex is an excellent place to live because the maintenance staff is there when needed.
I love The Switchyard. Now that it’s under new management everything is looking great. Front staff is very nice and the maintenance team is always doing a great job. I recommend living here.
I enjoy living here. Very central, nice environment
I enjoy being here. Recently this property got bought out. New owners. I like, how clean it’s been and how fast maintenance team, has responded to the work orders.
Thank you Monica for going the extra mile for the property with your smile and awesome customer service. In downtown Carrollton with a fitness center inside and loved the pet spa and bike shop. Can I live in the model? I loved it! Loved the excitement that you and Michael had during the tour.
You will live less than 100 ft from a loud train that comes sporadically throughout the day and night. They just switched management which was horrible because now you are forced to pay rent online. They no longer take checks, money orders or cashier checks. The fee to pay online is $15 extra.. SUPER glad I only signed a 6 month lease. Lets not mention the homeless people around the area that sometime make their way INSIDE the property....
The Maintenance Department is always quick, timely, courteous and they communicate. Thank You.
Parking has become a nightmare, and although I knew the train passed, never would have expected the frequency in which it does. Very difficult to work from home on the occasional times I do.
Tenants are not always courteous. Leave trash in hallways. Leave pet waste in hallways. Loud at pool past 10pm.
Overall everything here is good, no issues that aren't standard at every apartment complex other than parking, that is becoming a big problem here
The team has been very timely and courteous.
I love it here but with the train and shaking of the building at all times is a bit much.
Maintenance is nice and friendly and always fixes my problem and answers any questions
Very well maintained!! :) just the train noise at times lol
Great courtesy respect and very prompt.
YES
Great staff, great amenities. Not much around within a walking distance.
Everything about the apartment complex is perfect, but I highly recommend not to move in if you are such a person who cares nosies a lot, which comes from the outside.
I would recommend the apartments, however it is not perfect. The staff is not always organized. They don't really seem to care when you have questions. Once the property is fully leased, I can see parking becoming an issue.
This is an amazing community. What was more amazing was Taylor the leasing agent. He showed us around the community, different appartment layouts and answered all of our questions with patience and professionalism. The only reason we did not lease here is it wasn't in our budget. It was a very pleasant experience visiting your community. Thank you.
It's brand new, good price, right next to the freeway. The train would be the huge deal breaker in recommendation because it's outrageously loud at all hours of the night & early morning.
Very helpful staff/maintenance. They have helped with all of our needs and wants.
I moved in in September and was really meticulous in finding my first apartment. I wanted everything to turn out perfect as this is my first apartment. I must say that so far it has surpassed all my expectations. Let me try to answer any questions that I remember having before I moved in. Is the train bad? The closer to belt line you live the worse it is but, overall I have not lost any Sleep from the train And I love about 3 apartments away from the south side of the building. How is the management? Amazing I have have nothing but good experience s with them and they are always there when I need something. Maintenance? Haven't needed anything from them yet. The units are new so nothing has come up yet. I see the maintenance guy a lot though. Noise? Apartments are pretty well insulated (probably because of the train) but if your neighbor has a dog that barks a lot it might not be enough to shield the noise. I have never had issues with this. Is the 6 weeks free thing legit? Yes it is. If the promotion is still active you will get a credit in your account equivalent to 6 weeks rent. They also have a referral program that gives you credit for referring a new member. If this review helped and you end up signing a lease tell them Rolando Martinez referred you please! ??
I would highly refer this apartment community to all of my friends! Everyone has been very kind and professional towards me!!! Y'all are ROCKSTARS!!!!
The bedrooms are way too small for the price you would pay.
I would not recommend this complex for individuals with dogs simply because of the lack of greenery. There is no safe well kept area to walk the dogs.
The apartment complex is right next to the interstate and railway. Which is great for commutes, but I currently live next to 35W and it can get very loud. I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex because of my past experience.
