Midtown Baltimore encompasses a number of distinct urban neighborhoods in the heart of the city. Madison Park, Bolton Hill, Mid-Town Belvedere, and Mount Vernon all fall under the umbrella of the “Midtown” moniker. This bustling arts center is bolstered by the University at Baltimore and the Maryland Institute College of Art. After work or school, locals enjoy riding their bikes through Pearlstone Park, which is in walking distance of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Because of its walkability, you can easily access the plentiful bars and restaurants from your apartment. The Brewer’s Art brewpub has an excellent selection of homemade Belgian-style beers and fabulous food items. Whether it’s getting to work or class on time, residents are relieved they live so close to Interstate 83 and MTA stations for an easy commute.

Property Ratings at Symphony Center Apartments
I lived here for a couple years while finishing grad school. The apartments are so spacious, parking in the covered garage is included, and maintenance is amazing. They respond to requests quickly and are friendly. The office is very polite as well and they always greet residents with a smile and wave. If I were staying in Baltimore, I would've continued to rent at Symphony. I recommend it to anyone looking to live in Baltimore while still having room to move.
Key factors I consider when selecting a rental home include security, location, value, cleanliness, and amenities. During my six-and-a-half-year residency, Symphony Center has generally met my high expectations. I remain particularly impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism of the maintenance staff and office team.
I have been living here for roughly one month and have been very happy so far. Location: Inner Harbor & downtown within walking distance, close to Penn Station and a lightrail station that goes all the way to the local airport, Amenities: free parking in the garage next door which I find fairly unique Staff: completely professional, courteous and always ready to help Apartments: very clean
The staff at the Symphony Center were great while living there, but there some huge problems. 1) One of the garage doors was severely damaged forcing residents to share a door with the public - it took me 20 minutes to get into the garage one day during a symphony event! 2) Speaking of the garage, there was apparently an incident where a resident was held up by two men who tried to force themselves into the residents car and the Symphony Center DID NOT NOTIFY ANY OF THE RESIDENTS OF THIS INCIDENT. It's not the fault of the Symphony Center that this happened, but information about safety should be high priority of the residents. 3) The rent is VERY expensive here and when you move out, you will not get your security deposit back - the Symphony Center is for profit and will replace all of your carpet and then charge you (based on the age of the replaced carpet). I'm very sad to leave this review, but I can't help feel taken advantage of.
No complaints about the staff or facilities. The neighborhood seems decent during the day, but the Rite Aid across the street is less-than-safe at night. Moreover, the management company (David S. Brown Enterprises, LTD) are out for profit. If your carpet is replaced (and the bar is mega low) after you leave, the cost falls to you...(~$4000 for a full replacement). There was also an attempted robbery in the parking garage while we lived there. They didn't inform the residents: We learned about it from the news. Save yourself the trouble!
Zero security. And corporate staff is rude and unprofessional. Keep your family away from this place
One night about 7pm we heard a pop and we learned that our water heater had failed. We called the front desk and Deondre (maintenance supervisor) was already home and finished for the day. He immediately returned to work, mopped up all the water, and replaced the water heater. It took 4 hours. But it was fixed before we went to bed and we had hot water the next morning in time for work. This is just one example of how exceptional the staff is at Symphony. Thank you from Apt 705!
My husband and I lived here for over 3 years and had a wonderful experience. We were on the 13th floor and had a beautiful view of the city. The building is very clean and we never had any insect/pest issues while living here. Convenient parking garage connected to the building. The staff were all friendly and responded to our requests in a reasonable time. Thank you to Deandre who always responded to any maintenance issues (although rare) in the most professional, friendly manner. We moved to another city recently, but we miss living here!
I've been a resident for 1 year now and my stay has been everything I hoped it would be. My apartment is very spacious and great for entertaining. As far as location, Symphony Center is just a very short walk to all of Mt. Vernon's best attractions and restaurants. Recently, there have been very fun resident events such as a Jazz concert in the courtyard that was great fun. I look forward to continuing staying in this community.
I have only good things to say about Symphony center. I've lived here for almost a year now and there is not one thing to complain about. Management is friendly and responsive, the building is very new and has absolutely no pests (a wonder for Baltimore), and the rooms are spacious and bright. My closet is ginormous (I've been working on a 2000 piece puzzle that I've kept in the closet for a few months if that helps) and the balcony/view is incredible. Rent and utilities are expensive, but you get what you pay for. There's fresh fruit in the lobby and a coffee machine in the morning, and lots of other tennants have cute dogs. Also, if management is reading this: Deandre, the maintenance man, is super friendly, hardworking and definitely deserves a raise. Bottom line: if you're deciding on apartments in Baltimore, you won't be sorry living here (I'm going to have to move for work in a few months and I'm extremely sad about it to say the least).
The best thing about Symphony Center is location and convenience. If you do not own a car, this is the place to live. The State Center subway stop is one block away, and the Cultural Center light rail stop is directly behind the building. There are stops for at least two free Circulator buses just blocks away. Penn Station (Amtrak and Marc commuter trains) is five blocks away. There are several restaurants, bars, liquor stores and Starbucks in the surrounding blocks. Meyerhoff Symphony Hall is directly across the street and the Lyric Theatre is just two blocks away. The garage offers free parking for only one car per apartment; after that you have to pay a fee. A 24-hour Rite-Aid is across the street; a 7-Eleven and a Dominoes are on the ground floor. Other pluses: The apartments are very spacious and each contains a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer. But you have to pay your own water bill and it ain't cheap. The staff is very professional and helpful. The maintenance staff is really on the ball: If you submit a maintenance request online at night, in most cases it will be done the next day.The leasing agent and manager are both very nice, and try to accommodate any concerns. The front-desk concierges also are very friendly. Security is excellent.Guests must be buzzed in by residents. There are cameras in many areas downstairs and in the garage. Each resident is allowed only one key fob, which can be a great inconvenience when you have an out-of-town guest. The rents are extremely high for Baltimore...especially considering the apartments do NOT have high-end finishes. There is a 24-hour gym with a lot of treadmills and bikes, a few weight machines and some free weights. There is also a 24-hour business center. Bottom line is this building charges you an awful lot of money for a spacious apartment, 24-hour security and some amenities. But you won't get much more than that....not even free coffee all day. Coffee is available only for a few hours in the morning...even on weekends! Some previous tenants were smacked with huge rent increases: from $300-$400. Management does have several activities and parties throughout the year. A lot of young families, single mothers, college students, medical residents and dog owners live here. Most tenants only stay a year or two, so there isn't much of a sense of community. But for a convenient, safe place to live, Symphony Center is a good choice.
I relocated for work from California to Baltimore, MD.. I rented my apartment at the Symphony Center from the pictures online. Not only was the apartment exactly as presented online it is absolutely perfect. The apartment is spacious well appointed, pet friendly, very secure and has an in unit laundry room. The Symphony Center has a courteus staff and offers parking included in the rent. Coming home to the Symphony has made my cross country transition a pleasurable experience.
This apartment complex is your standard luxury complex, however, what really takes it to the next level is its location. Literally you are at the hub of so much convenience living here. There is a 7 eleven and dominos directly downstairs and a Rite Aid across the street. There are countless bus stops within a .2 mile radius. The light rail is seriously right in front of the building. Along with that, if you are interested in medicine or any form of academics, Johns Hopkins is less than ten minutes away. So is the university of Maryland for that matter. The Harbor in all of its glory is seven minutes away. There are also many bars to ensure a great nightlife scene too. The location of this area is awe inspiring. If the beauty of the apartment, the views, and the amenities don't draw you in, the location certainly will. I also love that there are so many churches close by, and cathedrals as well. My daughter loves to see the "castles." The staff is welcoming and know most residents by name. It's fairly tight knit and though I've only been here for 2 months, I've already been invited to several barbecues and have hung out with many couples staying in the building. One more thing, it is also kid and pet friendly. My kids have had several play dates with children from all over the building. This apartment complex meets all my needs when it comes to creating a home with values, friends, and fun (because everyone needs fun.)
They're awesome! 24-hour guard, really nice people, and beautiful building. Also, Free coffee and cookies every day! What's not to love
