We believe that everyone deserves a community that feels like home, so we are happy to hear that you have benefited from these efforts. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It's always great to hear appreciation from our valued residents!
These apartments are in poor condition. One young lady in the office is particularly cold and rude to deal with. Speaking with her shows she does not care, her demeanor is horrible, and her tone is harsh. The customer service overall that comes from this young lady isn't appealing. On another note, the apartment I'm currently residing in has mold in the bedroom due to a leak in the ceiling of the apartment complex. I was told by management I was unable to move into the apartment until it is available which is two weeks away. Am I supposed to stay in a place with mold? I'm a 66-year-old man who does not look to get sick from this mold.

I never had a problem with the apartment. Loved the hardwood floors. And plenty spacious for a single tenet. The neighbors were nice, with a friendly greeting. Occasionally I would play my music loud without any complaints. The onsite maintenance always kept everything looking nice. I also appreciated the location being within walking distance of the nearby businesses. Sadly, I got behind on rent and couldn't stay on much longer. But if I had a chance to do it again, I would really try to make it work.

We appreciate you taking the time to rate us four stars. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you going forward. Thanks again!
Been here less than 4 months, I pay rent using the zego app they recommended and set up for me. Got a letter this week saying saying I'll be evicted if I don't pay the charges I owe. I looked up the charges and it doesn't say what the charges are for. These people are shady.
I can't say I had the best experience here but the saving grace was professional and considerate staff, particularly Tiffany. There was an issue with my lease and the apartment I was assigned. I appreciate Tiffany's concern with the severity of the matter. She was honest and did all she could to make the best of the situation. The maintenance staff were quick, friendly and did a pretty good job as well. Otherwise, the rent is inexpensive at Talbot and in many ways, you get what you pay for.

If you need a place to live on a TIGHT budget, then this is ok...just make sure you get a renovated unit. The model unit does not reflect any of the available homes. However...people have different needs and deal breakers, so decide what is best for you. Pros: *Good location - close to shopping and dining *Inexpensive rent (note: you get what you pay for) *Plenty of parking available (most of the time) *Renovated units have central air/heat and less electrical issues *Prompt bug termination (centipede issues) *Maintenance is prompt - but they always do temporary patches *Tiffany in the rental office is SO nice Cons: *MUST have renter's insurance to cover the building, not just your stuff *Unrenovated units have electrical problems *Window sills are rotten wood with layers of paint over them *Radiators are controlled by management - you can not adjust the heat yourself *AC units are not included in the rent-you pay an additional fee, maintenance does not properly install them - so flies and bugs come inside to enjoy your loud/cool air *Small closets *Limited cabinet space *Old appliances (rusted and require numerous repairs) *Uneven/weak floors-some spots you can feel where it caved in *Doors are uneven, hanging off the hinges, and don't fully close *Loud neighbors (again, it's cheap and near the bus line...so you get what you pay for) *Danielle in the rental office...mmph

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. Due to the nature of your concerns, we feel it would be best if we spoke to you directly about your experience. We hope to learn more about these claims. Thanks.
From the very first day I started living here I had problems. From the shoddy repairs and maintenance crew to lack of maintenance on the building itself this entire experience was a disaster that I would gladly save anyone else from encountering. If you are looking for something that’s cheap and don’t mind a few bugs (don’t bother getting their contracted “exterminator” to come out because they will spray only where you said you saw bugs and then...leave) this is the apartment for you. There are wasps nests outside of a few of the building’s entryways, be prepared to dodge them as you try to enter your apartment without bringing them with you. I’ve had to kill spiders in webs (sometimes with eggs) in the hallway of my building. The walls are so thin, you can hear every single movement of the apartment above you if you live on the first floor. I wake up every morning between 6am-7am to the sound of a small child crying and the clacking of high heel shoes. As we enter the Summer I’m so glad I got someone to come and look at my thermostat that has been broken since I moved in. They do pay for your gas for heat in the Winter months, but as it warmed up and it wasn’t needed as much I noticed that even in the “off” setting I was still getting heat...which ran my electric bill up. The property manager Danielle has avoided all my calls and messages about any assistance they could offer me because of their broken equipment. I have never hated an apartment the way I hate living here. Trust me and go elsewhere, you can’t put a price on peace of mind.

Management is terrible, all of the wood and fixtures are old and outdated. They refuse to fix anything in the apartment. This complex should be put out of business!

I was recently "upgraded" to a new unit. My name is Terris. Since I've been in the unit the temperature hasn't been under 80. Had maintenance came to "fix" it as they told my girlfriend. We go home and the temp is 85. Was told by the office to slowly take it down few degrees at a time an still no result. Also due to the high temps we've been keeping it off but even when it is set to off it is still CONSTANTLY pumping heat. My girlfriend called today to get it shut off and she was told that they don't turn the heat off until the 16th.. I guess we'll just have to tough it out right.? I'm in a bind an won't be able to move due to the constant heat raising my electric bill. So I'll have to deal with this for another whole year.. Yay

we've lived here for about a year and a half so far and love it. yes, i wish we had a little more living space (one bedroom apartment) but if you make use of the space you have its fine. its only my husband and i so we make it work just fine. the location is amazing, i always feel safe and even felt safe when i was here alone for 7 months during my husband's deployment. 15 minutes to ODU for me, 5 minutes to NAVSTA Norfolk for him. maintenance and office staff are all pleasant to work with and we've never had an issue with them when we needed them. also, cant beat free heat and water!! i definitely recommend living here, great price and even better location.
I moved to Norfolk due to my fiancé being in the Navy. I am only 19 years old and he is 20. Moving from Michigan was a very hard task due to myself being so close to my friends and family but I knew that it was the right thing to do because I needed to be with him. After the first night staying at our new place we noticed that the bathtub was peeling, the windows leaked from rain, the windows were also broken and off of the track, the fridge had orange spots all over it in the morning, and also the hot water on the sink does not work. When the knob is turned no water comes out. Overall, the apartment is decent. All that matters is that I can be with my fiancé again after many many months... I am very tight on money right now but we are doing our best to make this transition work...
So, let me tell you something about this property !! As a Manager to a flooring company of 18 years I have never meet or spoken to such rude people before in my life. I left a message for the Manager Kim who works in the office and she never returned my call.. So, a few days later I show up at the office with my cousin who leaves at the property to speak to Kim and her assistant Said she could not talk to me.. I tried to hand them my business card and they wouldn't take it .. I had placed it on her desk and asked , when Kim has time please see if she can call me .. Never heard back yet .. All this because my cousins floor is nasty, falling apart and they won't fix it .. What is really sad it that I sell them the flooring and told them please allow me to replace the floor at no charge .. Meanwhile my cousin is about to have a baby with a floor that is in no condition for anyone to leave in ... What place you know won't allow someone to replace the floor with the SAME material .. The office staff period was very rude!!!
One the best place to rent in Norfolk , after months of looking for places to live
I love this area. The Apartments are so close to everything I need. As a single women I know it will be ok to live alone. I have a friend who lives there now and shes never had any problems with anybody. Its an ideal place to live as a couple or single. Its right next to the High School i went to. I could go on about this Apartment complex and community, but I'll stop here and say I look forward to visiting with you all in the next month to come visit one of your Apartments and hopefully sign a lease in March or April.
I would NOT recommend this property to ANYBODY! Rent is a great value for a single person. No "real" amenities except on-site laundry. The laundromat is occasionally dirty and filled with bugs. I've had my money taken from the machines on several instances. House centipedes are prevalent in the spring/summer (GROSS). I have great neighbors that are typically friendly or keep to themselves. I've had several maintenance issues while living here and the maintenance staff is always nice and polite, and try their best to take care of the issue. The office staff is the biggest downfall about this property. They are rude, inconsiderate, never helpful, UNPROFESSIONAL, and disorganized. The property manager is the worst person to speak to... And of course the "only person with the answers". They have been wrong in several situations and I never received an apology. Management does their best to take their time when addressing maintenance issues (out of maintenance's control... The maintenance staff is nice). They do their best to ruin your day. I would not recommend this property to anybody and will not be renewing my lease.
I wouldn't move their seems a bit ghetto. Not a good looking complex
I have heard this is a decent place for your buck especially college students, but a few things are off. A centipede problem was brought up quite a few times (its doable but will be a pain). Mold was noted minimally, but maintenance is nice and will work with you . Included water & heat cant be beat! But the heat is not controlled by the unit, the housing assoc. controls it (bummer). But its still a plus. I was also told to not let the 'Model House' fool you, though it is pretty nice for the $$$, the REAL housing differs. The neighborhood is in a nice location with ODU very close. All in all, its fair/good but it has its problems.
