Property Ratings at Talise Apartments
When I first called to apply they seemed nice. But as soon as we sent them money everything changed. We applied from out of state and they forced us to overnight all of our application fees rather than utilizing an online payment portal. They sent us two separate documents. One was a credit report and the other was an application decision. The application decision document specifically said that our application had been approved and welcomed us to the community. However, when I called them, they told me that our lease was still under review and the application decision they sent us was just a credit approval. They said this even though there were two separate documents. They told us that they couldn't accept our lease agreement because we would still be paying our lease at our current place because there was some overlap between the lease we would be signing and the lease we currently have, and expected us to completely pay off our current lease even though our credit had been approved. The office staff was also very rude and used a negative tone with me when I had questions. Me and my fiance asked for our application fees back and they told us they wouldn't give us our application fees if we withdrew our application and would only "consider" giving it back if they denied us. This is true even though they said the fees we sent them were refundable. Letting them keep our money at this point is less painful than working with them. I am actually grateful that we are withdrawing after giving them so much money because I can't imagine dealing with this office staff long-term. This application process is horrible and I urge anyone looking to apply to avoid this place like the plague. If you are reading this and thinking, he's probably just a crazy person and is leaving a review not representative of what this place actually is. I assure you that this is the first one-star review I have ever given a business. I am also pursuing a doctoral degree and am very educated. Please consider this review before applying here.
I’m beyond frustrated with Talise. They made specific promises about the application process. But once we paid the application fees, it was like they flipped a switch—suddenly, the terms were different, and the promises vanished. It's clear honesty isn't their policy. Beware before you apply!
Talise is a great apartment community, in my 2 or 3 years of living here I haven’t had one issue. Management is very courteous and quick to respond. I don’t have any complaints
Staff is friendly, but very slow to respond to things, like repairs. Overall i Like the apartment, hope to be here awhile, just have concerns about repairs getting done.

Hi, thank you so much for the positive review! We are always more than happy to assist you if anything else comes up. Take care!
I highly recommend Talise apartments. From the initial inquiry, model viewing, application process, lease signing to the move into a clean apartment and initial minor maintenance requests. Every staff member was polite, respectful and helpful. The whole process was smooth like professional icing on a cake and stress-free.

Nice units, fairly quiet environment. And overall a nice community.

Hello, we really appreciate your feedback and your positive review! We hope you have a great day!
The apartment itself is large and beautiful. Much nicer than most apartments (in this price range) on the market right now. The neighborhood and neighbors seem clean and quiet and safe. Lots of restaurants and businesses super close. The price for the unit and amenities is fair.

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about Talise! We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
Please be prepared for hot water or water in general to be turned off at least 3 times a month. Pools are never cleaned or available for use. Communication sucks. Pest control is non existent. There are literally no restrictions on pets so dont believe the hype. Expect poor responses and communication overall from the greystar team. 3/10 I do Not recommend.

We are disappointed to learn of your experience here at Talise, but will take this opportunity to improve. Thank you for letting us know.
I feel like the state of the community has been deteriorating with every change of ownership. Since I been there there has been 3 different leasing companies.

Hi there, we regret to hear that you are displeased with your recent experience. We appreciate all reviews, and appreciate you giving us the chance to improve by providing us with this feedback. Have a great day.
The new office staff has been amazing. With everything going on with covid they have been so helpful and understanding. The leasing staff cole and kassandra are friendly and always answer the phone. I had a hard month and Coryn really took the time to listen to all my concerns and really helped me with a plan of action to get me back on track and just put my mind at ease. This community has been through so many management companies since I have been here and I feel like the staff Talise has now, is the best so far. I am so thankful for the assistance they provided me.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Management seemed cool at first but first of all, they call me the day before I'm set to move in and tell me I can't move into the unit bc of a plumbing issue found THEE day before. They offered to upgrade me to the bigger 1 bdrm option for free for the inconvenience. Ok, cool. Whatever.. I get in the new unit and everything is wrong from broken garbage disposal to every sink is clogged. You can tell no one was in the apartment for a while. So after getting all the minor stuff fixed, I notice a crackling sound coming from the ceiling every-time the upstairs neighbor walks through his apt. Not just your typical thumps and thuds every now and then but actual crackling noise as if he's gonna fall through the floor at any moment. It's literally unbearable to live with. Long story short I had to wait for him to move out for them to 'fix it' .. The next family moves in and it's still not fixed and they're basically telling me to live with it. The worst apartment experience I've had & I am seeking legal action! I have video evidence but it won't let me upload .. Beware of this place. They're a rip off and terribly unprofessional.

I had broken my lease because of several things but the new management team has definitely taken control of all the issues that have been addressed!!! Very professional and kind!

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The cops are here all the time and it always smells like weed everywhere you walk. There’s dog poop everywhere which my dog ended up getting sick and almost died because he somehow got parvo even though he had been vaccinated. there’s a lot of domestic disputes here which is one reason cops are here all the time and they just arrested somebody the other day because he had a warrant. I do not feel safe living here and I would never Recommend someone getting a lease here. As a matter fact I actually broke my lease because that’s how much I hate it. I’m willing to spend the money to terminate my lease then wait out the rest of my contract. Renters beware. And some weird people live here

I give it 2 stars because I lived here for 2 years and it was great the first year (otherwise it would be one star). After that things started on a steady decline... first it started when they did some “tree trimming”, although it should have been called tree mutilation! I had a lovely tree shading my top floor apartment, but they essentially killed it and I no longer had shade. My tree wasn’t the only plant that suffered at the hands of these mutilators. This new company, that is now there, took over and they got rid of all the friendly, mostly knowledgeable, staff that we had got to know. The new people were extremely rude, especially Jack! They didn’t try to get to know anyone, had no idea what they were doing, were rarely in the office to pick up packages or answer questions (not that they had any idea to do either anyways). It took them 2 weeks to find my package that was quite large. The maintenance staff improved in the matter that they were better at their job and quicker, but not as friendly (and kind of creepy). I loved the apartment itself, but would have rather had the bigger one (1,042 sq ft). We couldn’t afford it right off the bat and had an opportunity to move into one after the first year, but didn’t see the point, just stayed where we were. Hindsight, it was the right decision. They have raised the prices DRASTICALLY since we left and have done no improvements themselves (they were already done). The neighborhood also declined as they seem to start letting ANYBODY rent here; there were a couple of major shootouts our last 6 months as well as few break-ins. I could go on and on... Don’t waste your time or dollars here.
Tiny apartments that look like garbage. The prices are outrageous and the office blows. This place was SO much better as Sonora Canyon.
There were some painful moments when the new management team took over and during the renovation process, but overall the management team is great. Recently, I've noticed that maintenance requests take longer than 24-48 hours so they should look at hiring a couple more guys, but when I've had full-out emergencies with my AC and fridge, they were on top of it. It's a decent price for the new units, but my apartment isn't updated because I moved in before the remodel and have been here about 3 years. I have the Platinum one bedroom and it's a great size for what I'm currently paying. I think they are a little overpriced for the area for new units (gone down a little bit in recent months). I won't be renewing my lease because the quality of neighbor has gone down significantly and noise is a BIG problem. They also don't have a clear policy on how they deal with noise or other complaints with neighbors. I'm actually really bummed to be moving because I've had a great experience with my apartment and the management team, but they really need to soundproof those apartments better. Plus, the creepazoid that lives downstairs and the jerk next door that blares his music and fights with his girlfriend at 3 am have really affected the quality of my life. I've been fighting noise issues since my second year here. Overall, nice units, decent price, okay neighborhood, obnoxious neighbors in the one bedroom buildings.
I love where i live i love it here... It has its ups and def downs but i see alot of ups in these apartments.. I love the full size washer n dryer you cant find ot everywhere in apts... But writing this lets get down to it.. I love where i live and hope i cam sign another lease here..
Wow I saw the place and I was in love right away, the will help you with your credit situation... I mean you will have to pay a lot to move in, but low credit score is an automatic denial in other places....I'm happy so far with my new place.
I haved lived at Sonora Canyon for almost 4 years. The apartments are very well maintained with new remodelling occurring as needed. The staff isvcaring and helpful. The rent is very competitive for as nice of a place as it is. I have recommended Sonora Canyon to others and will continue to do so.
I have been here for 5 or 6 years. I really enjoy living here. I have a washer/dryer in the unit as well as a private patio with outside storage. The only thing I wish is that there were more get togethers. Management is great.
Sonora Canyon has been a wonderful place to live. The staff has always been helpful and do their best to fix any problems you might have. The three pools are very nice and they have just installed a micro soccer field that is pretty fun to play on. It's a great place to live if you are working in east Mesa and not to far from the current end stop for the monorail running into Phoenix.
