Property Ratings at Tamai Tower at Sakura Square
Takes forever for anything to ever get fixed. Some things never do (i.e. the elevator). No one in management ever returns calls or emails unless they need something. In that case, they will just show up at your door unannounced. They are both so rude. I don't think I've gone one solid week without something being broken. It amazes me this place functions at all.
Current situation has led me to this review. I lived in the Tamai Tower complex with a resident/friend who has been living there for almost 2 years. I lived in the residence/friends apartment from May 23rd 2017 until I moved into a new location on June 1st 2017. Upon the agreement, the manager at the time had me sign some paperwork, just like any other complex when you sublet. Before I was handed the keys and a fob, I owed $45.00 for my application fee. May 23rd I walked over to 7Eleven on Lawrence to pay for a $45.00 Money Order and met with the manager at the time to pay. Fast forward to today on March 22, 2018. There is new management who has contacted the resident/friend of Tamai Tower saying "The Application Fee was never paid of $40.00" and is now trying to charge him $40.00 extra on his rent. After reaching out on my end to try and clear up some confusion. "New Manager" said that the old manager wrote it down as a "pay later" and never marked "Paid" on the ledger. This is where I was stumped. What business / complex would ever hand over keys on an "I owe you" Unfortunately it's been almost a year since I have lived in the residence & after searching all over, I have no receipt from the money order. I do have a transaction from the 7Eleven the same day I signed the paper work for $60. Allowing me to pay $45 in cash for my money order. After questioning the current management about some proof of paperwork showing I would "Pay Later" I have received no response other than management sending me an e-mail saying "I will no longer be going back and forth regarding this matter" He sent me a picture of the ledger showing the $45.00, but old management never marked it. So now with new management having no idea, they just go by what they see & when you try to resolve the situation they try to give you the run around and tell you they are no longer discussing the situation. As a manger for the company I work for. I would never go about a situation in such a rude manor. If you decide to live in Tamai Tower. Make sure to keep every tiny bit of information & paperwork you receive from them because it may be a bigger problem than $40.00 Basically I would not choose this complex from the downtown area ever again after being treated this way. Many more options with better management.
I think another comment says this as well, but I have no idea why there are not more comments and reviews for this apartment complex. I think this place is perfect for me. I'll just begin by saying it has a good mix of people: All types of ages, races, and interesting people. It has a very diverse setting, and offers a lot of common parties and get together's for their residents. I believe that is because Cornerstone leasing company puts these up. They are a great leasing company that only wants the best for their residents and it shows through their employees. Zach and Deb are the ones that manage Tamai Tower, and are the ones I see the most often. Zach gave me a tour of the apartment without a moment of hesitation, and Deb is constantly helping me with anything I need through Tamai Tower. I have lived here for about two months now, and I have not found a single thing to complain about. I moved here for a new job, and picked this place based off the reviews and calling the leasing office. It was a very risky play, as I had never seen the place, been in the area, or even seen the room I was going to get; but it was a great payoff for such a risky move. I believe all apartments are fixed with a nice patio view of the city. Mine is facing towards Coors Field and I am about a block or two from all the bars for my age group (21-28 ish). This is the perfect area for me, and I love being able to sit on my patio and experience the city. The rent is probably the best in the area, and we pay a flat rate for utilities (AC, Heat, Electricity). You will need to provide internet, but the building is fixed for Xfinity, and it's really good while also being the cheapest option. I have no issues during high demand times. The only issue I had with Tamai Tower, and it was not their fault or blame at all, was the parking. Parking in this city is ridiculous and extremely expensive. They have a parking structure, but it serves the surrounding stores and daily/hourly/nightly parking. I was put on a waiting list to park in the structure, so I had to find parking for only a month until I was granted a parking spot. Not only is the spot I received from Tamai Tower located right next to my place, but it was also cheaper than the parking spot I had across the street. Isn't that crazy? Finally, this is a must pick if they have an available unit. We have a very welcoming community, so come by and be greeted with smiles!
First off, I'm very surprised that there aren't more reviews out there for this place.. I've been living here for about 4-5 months and I have had almost all positive experiences so far. The Management team are great, the location is perfect for my wife and I, and you won't find a lower price in LODO. I have looked and found other apartments in the area are a good 400 to 500 dollars more per month (minimum) than Tamai Tower. Some Pros: - The only thing I have to pay for is rent, ALL other utilities are free (water, AC/Heating,electricity, etc.) - The view is awesome from the balcony - The trash shoot is feet away from the apartment door - The neighbors are friendly - Great location - Great management (Deb and Jake are very nice and I can tell that they really care about the building and its residents) - The penthouse has been newly remodeled. It has beautiful views, a small gym, conference room, study area, couches, etc. - The apartment itself is simple, in a good way. It has hardwood all over, white walls, and great window views. Some Cons: - There have been times that I've seen some homeless people around the premises (2 or 3 instances) - The elevators are not perfect, as one will be out of service every so often (there is always one working though) - Building is older than most apartments in the area - No dishwasher :( - There are alot of older people living in the building, some can be a bit restless and want to talk your head off sometimes - There are bars and the Rockies stadium very close, so there can a bit of noise from the crowds and music. Has kept me up in the past when trying to sleep Overall, this is a good place to live if you work/go to school in LODO, have no kids, and enjoy the city life. I would love to stay as long as I can.
I lived in this building now for 2 years and although there's a few things I wish it had I love the location. They are doing some updates that I look forward to, including a new fitness center on our penthouse floor. I have a 16th floor east facing studio with a great balcony and city views. Located 3 blocks from my work I can't beat that commute. It's an old building so they are needing to replace things and usually 1 of the elevators is always down.
