Central West End’s European vibe is on display everywhere you look, from the classic architecture and layout to the charming parks and gardens to the open-air cafes and bistros that line the streets. The most dominant landmark is the sprawling Forest Park with its trails, sports facilities, lush greenery, and famous zoo – it’s a perfect community backyard for the families and urban professionals who call CWE home. The neighborhood’s elaborate Halloween celebrations and Labor Day Greek Festival are immensely popular, drawing people from all over the city. Art galleries and performance venues are popular draws as well, and the neighborhood enjoys a healthy yet subdued nightlife scene.
While located at the heart of one of the region’s biggest cities, Central West End is mostly residential, with most of the landscape filled with single-family homes. Apartments tend to be very affordable, and rental houses tend to be quite reasonable as well.

Property Ratings at Tanjiers
1) The elevator has not been working for the past week. 2) only 2 dishwashers out of the 7+ dishwashers are working in the building. 3) the building is old and smelly. 4) the building barely gets cleaned, if it does then that's because a new tenant is coming to check the building. 5) management will not hear your feedback or concerns. last point, 6) do NOT rent here even if they we are cheaper.
My ceiling is due to come down on me any day now. I have been complaining about leaks in the building for over a year. One leak has been actively dripping water in my closet for almost two years now. They claim they repaired the roof and that is their response when I tell them it is leaking. The leak has now spread into my bedroom and bedroom closet. Absolutely terrible company. They are non-responsive even to emergency situations. They put used items in your new apartment like dirty closet doors etc. maintenance constantly comes into your home without notice yet somehow nothing ever gets fixed. This company simply changes their name every few years to shed the bad reviews. They were previously known as asprient. This is also a fairly dangerous building. Homeless people are constantly entering, so many neighbors are extremely disrespectful - dog urine in the elevator for almost a year, vomit in the elevator, they throw the furniture in the lobby around and leave trash everywhere. Someone put a Walmart shopping cart in the lobby. I was assaulted by a neighbor. A lot of them bump music super loud. I had to call the cops on someone who didn’t even live here beating the crap out of their kid in the neighbors apartment. The people below me fight like they’re on Jerry springer. A lot of young rude tenants who scream and annoy neighbors in the hallway. I put a camera outside my door and I have videos of my 20 something year old neighbor running through the hallway screaming with her friends and then literally rolling on the ground outside my door at 1 am on a Tuesday.
I had signed a lease for a different property with stl citywide but found out the morning of move-in day that I am in fact not able to move in! A bunch of lame excuses from management who offered to move me into tanjiers instead. Needing a place ASAP I had no other choice. Now, here is my review having lived here for 5+ months. 1) Unprofessional management: I could never get a hold of the property manager who kept getting reassigned every other month. I have been through 3 different property managers in less than half a year and none of them would ever pick up their phones or reply to emails. I was promised an in-unit washer/dryer for extra fees atop rent but this never came through. 2) Terrible maintenance: There is one pair of washer and dryer units per floor and the dryer has not been working since I have moved in. I have contacted maintenance more than 5 times regarding this issue. Everytime they reply they have fixed this issue, it has never been fixed. 3) Package thieves: There is a ridiculous amount of package theft in this apartment. There are several notes (from residents) in the shared mailroom asking others from stealing packages. If you live here, simply expect half of your packages to never reach you. 4) Parking: There is a parking lot in the back of the property. If you're ever back from work past 3pm don't expect to park anywhere but in the street. Funnily enough, half the parking lot is for an adjacent property and you will get towed without you knowing (you would think property management would let you know that's not part of the property, but refer back to point (1)). 5) Walls so thin you'll feel like you have roommates: Ever lived in an apartment where you can hear your neighbors' phones vibrate? You will here.
I am moving into this unit at the end of July and am beyond excited. I have been renting with City Wide for the past year in another building and unit and stopped by the office to inquire about other available apartments with my property manager Deeanna, as I wanted a unit with a washer and dryer! I was even willing to pay more, but she recommended this unit which costs less than my old one in the CWE. She was so transparent and honest and was even able to show me a unit in this building on the same day unexpectedly. The pictures do not do this place justice, the apartments are beautiful, the stainless steel and counters in the kitchen are gorgeous. The bathrooms are small but have storage space and I love love LOVE the open concepts. This company is willing to work with you in ensuring that you are happy with your decision and Deanna even let me come back to the apartment and measure for the washer and dryer hookups! Wifi is included and this is a steal!
I had a scheduled appointment to view this residence and got stood up the day of. I called the guy 3 times and he never showed up! Don’t waste you’re time!
I scheduled a showing of this apartment building a while ago. The email was very informal with spelling errors and no clear answers. Once I arrived early I tried to ask the people working outside if the address was correct. The building is not finished with it's construction, there was we cement, and it took me 3 people to find someone who spoke English. Once the very nice site manager called the lobby, they told me I'd have to call someone myself. I looked through my email and was never given any phone information; I could have asked for this so I am responsible for that. I called the number from the website multiple times and nobody answered. I waited til after my scheduled time and then decided to leave. About 15 minutes after my appointment I got a text asking if I was there, and that that she was "only five minutes late lol gosh". Very unprofessional way of handling things, the information given before hand was horrible, communication was horrible, and nothing is finished yet. I don't know if I'd want to see what this complex is like once it's up and running based on my experience. I hope other people's are much better.
