The University of Tennessee is undeniably the focal point of Knoxville, and the school’s orange and white motif is everywhere. Largely thanks to the big student population, Knoxville’s nightlife scene is among the best in the region. Traditionally, the bars and restaurants along Cumberland Avenue - or "The Strip" – have been the preferred night spots in town; while The Strip remains popular, redevelopment in downtown and in the Old City has spread out the after-hours revelry. With so many students in the mix, the local rental market is packed with affordable options as well, so it’s easy to find a budget-friendly house, condo, or apartment just about anywhere in town.
But the city is much more than your typical college town, offering a charming environment surrounded by gorgeous hills and forests, with a generous helping of Southern personality. If boating is your thing, join famous Tennessee Vol Navy as they cruise the river behind Neyland Stadium on game days.

Property Ratings at Tapestry at Turkey Creek
Don’t move here unless you absolutely have to. The building construction is questionable at best. The walls make all sorts of creaking, clicking, and banging noises, if you step in certain areas of the floor you can hear it creak up the walls, and the plumbing is constantly backing up for no reason. The appliances are also prone to failure. The buildings are also very drafty, poorly insulated, and ventilated awfully. Bedrooms are consistently +/-5° of the main living area. Parking is also a nightmare. There are simply not enough spots for the amount of residents. Often residents will have to park in the office parking, the only remedy to this is to pay for a semi covered spot which are 90% vacant. If you come home from a long day past 8:00 you will be walking a considerable distance to find parking. In an effort to remedy the parking issue they required everyone to get parking passes as well as guest passes for guests. This would all be well but the office closes at 6, often times after most get home from work, thus you can’t pick up the passes. On top of this, if for instance you have to bring a work vehicle home they will put an 8.5x11 paper sticker right in your line of sight as a warning which takes an hour to peel off. I’ve never seen such petty treatment of people who pay a lot of money to live in an apartment complex. You have to pay for trash pick up. No option to opt out, which would be fine if the service came when they said they’d come but it’s truly hit or miss. This property does have its pros, the gym is nice (but lacking legitimate equipment), the outdoor grill is great (if you can wait 45 minutes for them to become hot), and the car wash station is great if you can wash a vehicle with less than two gallons of water because that’s all the drain can handle before it backs up. This property is an apprehensible representation of what the inflated housing market is allowing property companies to do. Petty & incompetent management coupled with shoddy construction is the story of the tapestry at turkey creek. I genuinely cannot wait to move out. Avoid at all costs.

Our management is committed to delivering the most positive living experience to you that is possible.
I had a tour scheduled for 12pm on Saturday, I showed up and the door was locked. I tried calling and no one picked up. But yet the office is open from 10-5 and I got a confirmation email on my tour. Very upsetting, because this place was top on my list.

We are so sorry for disappointing you. Yes, due to sickness we had to close the office. There were instructions on the front door that would have guided you to take a self tour with a key in the lockbox about three feet from the front door of the office. If you can forgive this mishap and would still like to tour, please call the office at 865-392-6565.
I had an appointment for a tour at 2:30 on Saturday. No one was in the office and I waited until 2:50 when an employee arrived. She asked what I needed and I informed her of my scheduled tour; she didn't apologize for the delay or even introduce herself. My entire tour lasted less than eight minutes and she was obviously in a hurry to leave. The experience gave what I consider to be a valuable insight into living there, if a prospective tenant is treated as such an afterthought, the existing tenants probably are not receiving much better. Hugely disappointed but happy that I learned how they conduct business before I was living there.

Justin, we are sorry to hear that your tour of the community was somewhat underwhelming. We always do our best to make a strong first impression when meeting potential residents and it sounds like, on this occasion, we missed the mark. We believe your time is valuable and we sincerely apologize for making you wait. We feel this is not representative of what it's like to stay in our community and if you ever decide to give us a second chance, we are sure we could treat you to some quality customer service.
I just moved to Tennessee from California, and I absolutely love living here! I leased over the phone, and Caitlin helped me secure my apartment seamlessly! The apartment is spacious, new , and has all of the modern conveniences you would expect from a luxury community. The closets are large, the tubs are deep soaking tubs, and the barn-wood floors are beautiful. It’s really quiet here as well. I’m not sure if it’s the walls or the respectful neighbors, but I sleep great! So happy I chose Tapestry over some of the other communities.
