From its murals to its famous taquerias (where you’ll find New York’s best tacos), East Harlem is considered one of New York’s hottest neighborhoods. You might hear East Harlem referred to as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio, but no matter what you call this trendy neighborhood, it’s an ideal location that’s still affordable by Manhattan standards.
East Harlem is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, extending from 96th Street north to the Harlem River, and from 5th Avenue east to the river. The northern section of Central Park, which includes the Museum of the City of New York, Fort Clinton, the Conservatory Garden, and the Butterfly Gardens of Central Park, sits directly across 5th Avenue from the neighborhood. Getting around Manhattan is quick and easy from East Harlem – the subway runs through East Harlem and contains several stations extending from 96th Street to 126th Street.

Property Ratings at Tapestry
Are you looking for a nightmare disguised as an apartment? Look no further! I've had the misfortune of residing in this hellhole for far too long, and let me tell you, it's been nothing short of a nightmare. First and foremost, they will bleed you dry at every opportunity. Need to get back into your apartment because you locked yourself out? Prepare to fork over a whopping $150 just to have the privilege of accessing your own living space. It's highway robbery disguised as a "service fee." And don't even get me started on the constant construction noise that permeates every corner of this place. Want to work from home? Forget about it! The unannounced construction projects will ensure that you can't hear yourself think, let alone concentrate on any work. Oh, and let's talk about the appliances. The washer and dryer? Always broken. Want to do your laundry conveniently at home? Tough luck! And as for the heater? Mine hasn't worked in over two and a half years. That's right, TWO AND A HALF YEARS of freezing winters without a working heater, despite countless complaints. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague. They'll do anything to squeeze every last penny out of you while providing subpar living conditions. Consider yourself warned.
Beware of this apartment complex, as their primary focus seems to be on maximizing profits rather than tenant satisfaction. I've experienced a rent increase twice, despite being in a rent-stabilized apartment. Additionally, I submitted a work order in February 2023, and as of January 19, 2024, it remains unresolved. Potential renters, be warned! Think twice before choosing this place. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
