The wooded, picturesque setting of Crestline is great, but its proximity to Downtown Birmingham – only about five miles west – makes it a top location. The northern border, Montclair Road, is home to several businesses and a large office park. The east end of the neighborhood is where you’ll do much of your shopping and dining as it is home to the Village East Shopping Center, Anastasia Plaza, Winn-Dixie, several chain restaurants, and the Phoenix Theaters. Local favorites include Sushi Village, Bourbon Street Bar and Lounge, and El Cazador.
The landscape is to be enjoyed, and you’ll find residents spending time at Crestline Park, which offers a playground and tennis courts, or hiking along the nearby Irondale Furnace Trail. On the southwest side of Crestline, golfers have several options like Mountain Brook Club, the Country Club of Birmingham, and Highland Park Golf Course. Head along Montevallo Road to spend the afternoon at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Birmingham Zoo.

Property Ratings at Tapestry Park
I would not recommend moving to Tapestry Park Apartments. My wife and I lived here for a year, and this new management company does not care about their residents, they refuse maintenance when requested, and refuse to speak to their residents about issues while living there. They have COMPLETE disregard for the condition of the units with fire alarms malfunctioning daily and the management company refusing to fix them and other maintenance issues when asked. There is also complete disregard for the resident’s personal property, with their hired maintenance stuff damaging belongings on the balcony multiple times, and scratching privately owned vehicles that are parked legally within the complex. We lived there with the old management company and this current company and the current management in our opinion, is far worse, for the reasons stated above and multiple other issues.
Be aware and read all reviews before signing, issues date back almost ten years. Since moving in I’ve tried talking to the community manager about issues in and around the building. If the termination fee wasn’t two months rent i would move out immediately. - Zero Communication from management - Good or Bad news - Gates still don’t work and are now closed full time on far end. - Pool is constantly under repair and closed. - Fire alarms constantly beeping - Emergency lights broken - Parking lot and walkway lights broken and/or dim. (Some repaired recently, no further activity) - Gym equipment broken and outdated - Heavy flooding anytime it rain
Worried about finances? They've raised rent 35% in the last 2 years Worried about safety? Car break-ins and multiple cars stolen out of the parking lot. Gates have not worked in the nearly 3 years we've been here. Worried about cleanliness? They don't have nearly enough maintenance people to take care of such a huge property. The place is honestly pretty gross at times.. trash, dog poop.. I have seen (and cleaned up myself) broken bottles. They have increased rent an insane amount and the quality of service is going downhill.. why not take a few % of that 35% increase and invest it back into the property? Would LOVE to be out of this place ASAP
My living experience here from 2017 to 2019 was fairly uneventful but what I can say is the Corporate Accounting and Rental Verification Departments are AWFUL. 3 years later after leaving, they reported to a new property that I was late on rental payments and that I owed the corporation money. Thankfully I retained a copy of the receipt and after having an onsite staff member look at my account they were able to identify that it was a computer error that led to an online payment flagged as late. Just be hyper aware that as a good tenant you can still get screwed by a relatively unimpressive property.
Much of our decision was based on location. The apartments we looked at were okay. Not a fan of laminate in bathroom.
I recommend this apartments because of the nice office personnel, they made the process easy, and clarifying your doubts.
The value considering storage in the apartments is not equal.
Would recommend for dog owners

Package delivery and service from USPS is HORRIBLE. For some reason, the complex and USPS cannot get it figured out, even with parcel lockers. Constantly having to go to the post office to pick up packages and it is obnoxious.
for my family that is older i would highly recommend this lowkey & clean environment. for younger people like me i would not suggest living here because it requires staying quiet & im a musician so i like to keep loud music playing & have lots of company
I've been living here since 2015. The leasing office staff and the maintenance department are all excellent! Professional, knowledgeable and always prompt when responding to me.

The main deficiency of the available was the lack of room for a small dining room table.
Overall, the apartment itself is wonderful but the community leaves something to be desired. It really bothers me how disrespectful community members are of the maintenance staff despite persistent emails. I'm specifically referring to picking up after their pets and littering (discarded beer cans and fast food trash are a daily occurrence, and -- while the maintenance staff picks them up promptly and keeps the grounds clean -- living among so many thoughtless and selfish individuals bothers me). People's decision not to social distance and wear masks on the campus also make me highly uncomfortable. The only reason I wouldn't recommend Tapestry to friends is that living here feels like I'm on a college campus again with the constant partying and disregard for staff and rules that were put in place for good reasons. I do appreciate that Tapestry does its best to control this behavior (like closing the main pool after people weren't social distancing on the 4th of July) but this nonchalant attitude is so immature, particularly with all that Bill, David and the rest of the maintenance crew do to keep our home a nice place to live.

Simply, it's all about the people who support the community, from the front office to the maintenance personnel, to my neighbors. It's a great place to live.

I would have to remind anyone that the rental expense is more than a lot of places.
It's close to all kinds of grocery stores nearby and in a safe neighborhood.
Very friendly and personable Leasing Consultant. The apartment units she showed me more than exceeded my expectations. Well-manicured lawns, wide open spaces, lots of "nature". The units are spacious with high ceilings, built-in appliances (microwave) and comes with washer and dryer, which is a huge plus for me. These are GORGEOUS apartment homes and I would love to live there!
The office and maintenance staff are the BEST hands down
I would appreciate having access to enter at both the front and back gates. I have also never received a remote opener for the gates as I still have to punch in the code for the front gate. It would also be much more convenient to be able to enter on either side of the front or back gate instead of just the one side at the front gate.
The apartment and amenities are great especially for the monthly rate.
It gives you a welcome home feeling. I do strongly believe I would rather live here and make it my permanent home over purchasing a house.
It is in an ideal location, nearby to a variety of stores and restaurants. The office and maintenance personnel are always helpful and friendly. I never have to worry about maintenance issues or finding someone who can help answer my questions.

I would recommend the apartment community because I really love my actual apartment. Plus, the staff has been very nice to me. I've already convinced one friend to move to the community. The only reason I would not recommend this community is due to safety concerns. When the gates work properly, security is increased, but often times the back gate is left open and there are issues. Overall, I would say there are much more positives than negatives.

Brenda was wonderful and patient with me. she went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and was very welcoming. I was between this apartment and another which is closer to work, which is essentially what made my decision, but if this location was walking distance to work as the one I chose is.l, I certainly would have picked this complex. The grounds are beautiful, amenities are great, and everyone was friendly. I will certainly be considering this complex again in a year when I am ready to leave the downtown area.

Community is kept clean and well landscaped. Apartments are spacious. Would not: buildings should be better labeled!! Very difficult to determine building numbers. Gate system is SO ANNOYING!! Why have 2 gates each time you come in/out when 1 gate would do the job!!

The only "would not" is that I know numerous cars have been broken into, even windows smashed. But, I love living at Tapestry!
I would tell individuals it is a great complex that has a higher price tag.
I wish there were more free resident events to mingle with other residents.
This is the nicest apartment and community I’ve ever lived in.
