Property Ratings at Tarzana Casa
Wecouldn’t be happier with our new management (Natalie) and maintenance man (Diego)! We’ve seen significant improvements since they came, and are glad to have them as part of our Tarzana Casa community!
Natalie is a great manager that gets things done and our maintenance guy Diego does a great job fixing things.
New manager Natalie & maintenance guy Diego are amazing people, they help out so much whenever I have a problem the manager is real quick to answer. Diego does such an amazing job maintaining the apartments.
I have lived here for 5 years and have seen good and bad management during that time. In the past it has been really difficult to get repairs done in units and I noticed that I have left items broken for so long we got use to them being that way. We also have had ongoing issues with our hot water and a faucet leak that never was properly fixed until the new manager Natalie came in. Natalie has been great and I’m glad Casa Tarzana found her. She really does care about the building because she also lives here. We haven’t had a manager like that since we first moved in. We’re currently moving out of this area and Natalie has been nothing but helpful. One thing that has kept us living at this building for so long is we have never had any issues with bugs or infestation which I know can be a common thing in California apartments. This building does a great job managing bugs and we have never ever had any issues.
I have lived in this building for a few years and I never had any major problems until they hired a new manager. The building quality has gone done and the new manager has a nasty and hostile attitude. You’ll never get anything fixed inside your unit and you’ll be called a liar or be ignored. Bottom line is things don’t get fixed in this building. It seems the manager is more concerned about receiving her monthly bonus by charging the tenants more fees. We have to take pictures of when we submit our rent checks because checks have gone missing and of course this manager has a way of charing you a fee. I wish the management was more organized and professional. I will no longer recommend this building! After years of living here I no longer feel comfortable living in this building and I feel that I cannot reach out to management for any of my concerns or issues. I
Been here for over 2 years, 1st year was great! Then went downhill from there. Here are the highlights of living here for soo long. - roaches lived with us for about 6 months before they decided to do something about it - we have had a issue with dishwasher it broke, i would say its been about 5 months with no dishwasher, still no dishwasher but i was told we broke it so we had to pay, ohh yeah they took dishwasher 2 months ago and have not replaced there has been a hole in my kitchen, i have kids why they think this is ok. At least cover hole so no kid of mine get electrocuted. - overall it takes a good month to get maintanance to fix anything, if your lucky.
I just moved into this property a few weeks ago. If you can't afford the outrageous rents of other buildings in the area but still want a safe, clean and decent place to live then you'll like this property. The apartment I rented has all new floors and appliances. Some things are a bit outdated but they can be overlooked. It's a pretty quiet building. The walls are really thick and I never hear my next door neighbors. It is right next to the 101 so sometimes you hear a little freeway noise. Everything is within easy walking distance. On my second day here I had a problem with my garbage disposal and I was given a new garbage disposal the next day. I couldn't figure out how to program the microwave and the manager came up and gave me a tutorial and printed out a manual for me from the company website. So far, I have had nothing but a positive experience.

I'm so pleased that you're happy with your experience so far. Remember, I'm always here to help you so feel free to call on me anytime with any questions you might have.
This is the worst place someone can ever live. Right now there are five apartments empty. If you request repairs in your apartment you can forget it. They will do it, but not in a timely manner. Then the manager's husband has to be rude to you and there is always a shouting match for something to be done. DON'T come here to rent. You don't need the stress.
Property Manager at Tarzana Casa, Responded To This Review
I'm apologize if you feel that your concerns were not attended to in what you feel is a timely manner. Maintenance is done in order of the importance of the problem reported with some problems being more of an emergency nature than others. We always do our best to take care of any reported problem as quickly as possible.
Living at Tarzana Casa Apartments is the worst experience I have had. The Management of the apartments, when they need your business; they give you a very nice welcome. As soon as you have signed on the dotted line, they disregard you, pretend that they don't know you. When it comes to maintenance, they are rated zero. You put in a request for repairs and most of the time it can take them days or you never hear from them again. If you approach them in person, they become very arrogant and rude, and in some cases they even yell at you. No one needs that stress after paying your rent on time every month. I cannot and will not recommend this apartment building to anyone. So please think twice before moving into this building, a hostile management awaits you.

I work very hard to create and maintain a harmonious environment within the community. I like all of my tenants, they're great people and I am sorry if you personally felt you were in some way disregarded. It would have been preferable if you had come to me to allow me to address your issue instead of posting your frustrations after you have moved out without ever giving me a chance to try to provide a positive resolution to your problem.
WHEN U FIRST MOVE IN, CATHY AND CHRIST TREAT YOU NICE. AFTER A FEW DAYS, THEY ARE LIKE YOUR ENEMIES, THEY TRY TO AVOID YOU AND TREAT YOU LIKE YOU'RE WORTH NOTHING. WHEN IT COMES TO MAINTENANCE, THEY TAKE A VERY LONG TIME TO FIX WHATS BROKEN OR SOMETIMES THEY NEVER COME. CATHY AND CHRIST ARE THE WORST LANDLORDS EVER
Property Manager at Tarzana Casa, Responded To This Review
As I responded to your previous comment, maintenance is performed by the most serious problem being resolved first and less serious problems after. We do our best to resolve every tenant request in a timely manner.
If you move in here, good luck getting anything fixed. You might wait years. The property manager is impossible to reach. The laundry machines barely clean your clothes, and shrink everything no matter the setting. The picture of the courtyard is over 3 years old. We were so happy to move out!
Property Manager at Tarzana Casa, Responded To This Review
I am sorry you were dissatisfied with your time here. Maintenance is easy to obtain by submitting a request for maintenance to the manager (me) who lives on site, has an open door policy and has office hours and emergency phone numbers posted on my apartment door. The machines in the laundry room are newer front loaders so perhaps you were overstuffing them or washing on the wrong water temperature. I encourage everyone to come to me if they are having any type of issue whatsoever. I wish you had done this so I could have helped you.
Chances are, if you're looking at the Tarzana Casa Apartments, you're concerned about budget. For an apartment along the 101 freeway between Thousand Oaks and Sherman Oaks, I can confidently say you will get the most bang for your buck here. Let's start with the good: - Your wallet will thank you - Excellent proximity to the 101 freeway - Reasonably quiet for an apartment complex. Not a party sort of place. - Your spoiled for choice when it comes to grocery stores--Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Gelsons, Vons, Ralphs--all within a 1 mile radius - Small complex, so parking and access are a breeze - Landlords do most of the maintenance, so you feel safer letting them into your place and repairs usually get done quickly - Decent amount of storage and overall square footage for the cost - You can paint as long as you can get the walls back to the beautiful *sarcasm* yellowy-white original color - Private parking lot with one included spot. It's an uncovered lot, though. Get ready to burn your buns off in the summertime. Ouch. - Thick walls. I've never heard my neighbors on either side. Although a person with concrete shoes must live upstairs... And the not-so-good: - Outdated. Most things are well-worn, but still serve their purpose fine. Seems like the current landlords are making appliance and carpet upgrades as tenants move out. - In-wall A/C. Noisy and definitely an eyesore, but they do the job. - No amenities. If you can survive the Valley summers without a pool, by all means... - Low shower heads. You'll definitely want to buy your own if you're on the tall side. - You'll notice some freeway noise in the evenings. Loud motorcycles and semi-trucks mostly, but not bad enough to avoid the place. - Helicopter flight path. You'll get used to it. - Not enough lights/power outlets. - Coin laundry. Hate coin laundry. Machines are okay. They're supposedly new, but the washers seem to have their issues. Tips: - You may be able to score an additional parking space for a small monthly addition to your rent - Laundry room door slams loudly when it shuts, so be aware of that if looking at an apartment near there - Smokers tend to congregate around where the barbecue is, so avoid an apartment in that area if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke. All in all, Tarzana Casa is a fine place to live. It's nothing fancy, but it'll safe you a good few bucks compared to other places nearby.
