Tate Tanglewood

It was great when I first moved in and then it went down hill. Everything is/was broke, maintenance takes forever to do jobs. Halls stink and aren’t vacuumed or cleaned. Started seeing lots of roaches. And we can’t open doors or parking garage gates from our phones anymore. Part of the reason I chose this property.

In a word, it's a disgrace. The management is indifferent, the building smells like les and is full of insects. We are looking forward to the end of our contract.

Demond has been very helpful sorting out all our moving in needs and has speedily addressed all our issues. Maintenance promptly fixed a leaky sink faucet! The community is quiet and the apartment is very nice and tidy. They really focus on making sure the place is well-kept and comfortable!

Parking sucks and the mail is not secured for receiving packages. Anyone can go and pick up your package if they have access to the package room.

Would never renew. Everything broken, trash EVERYWHERE. HUGE pot hole in the entrance cost my tire. Getting treated like children taking away access. Complain about small things and never fixing any bigger issues.

Toured the property with Deja she was very knowledgable and personable. Property was clean and the amenities are great.

It hasn't even been a month since I moved in and I am less than excited about this lease. My specific unit was unavailable to tour before the lease was signed (IKR red flag) and upon moving in I noticed the very distinct and strong scent of cigarette smoke. It has since taken hold of the entire unit and seeped into my clothes, furniture and bedding. There is a major bug problem in this unit and it was (clearly) not cleaned prior to my move in. MGMT has set out bait for bugs which have filled to the brim and slapped a scented air filter in my unit to mask the smell (it lasted 4 days max). I've been given no other options and will never recommend this building to anyone.

Such a beautiful property with great spaces. Especially the gym! Love it here.

Loving the new manager here and how much she is trying to clean up and improve the community! A true leader. My apartment complex is coming along, slowly, but surely with her here now. She is also heavily improved the communication to the residents. The updates are amazing. Not like before where they only yelled at residents about towing cars out front. We had no idea what updates and changes were being made for improvement. Now we do with Maria! Patience is hard to come by at the Tate, but I definitely see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Car Break In’s happen EVERY WEEK!!! EVERY WEEK it’s ridiculous

Beautiful Building, nice art, nice gym, gorgeous 2 story town home layouts. That is where the good ends. Cons: 4 times in the last month walking to my car to go to work and passing a giant pile of dog poop in the hallway. Once in the parking garage consistently see cars with their tires stolen, cars/trucks on bricks, windows busted, etc. Hallways consistently smell like trash and/or animal waste. Pretty sure they don't vacuum, shampoo, or mop any of the hallways/elevators. Maintenance people are really nice, but hit or miss if they come to fix something, and while they have 18.5 foot gorgeous ceilings, no ladder tall enough to replace light bulbs so I've lived 3 years with no functioning light in the kitchen. Finally moving out. Price was great for the niceness of my individual unit, but can not recommend the complex, the staff, or the other residents. (Who lets their dog poo in the hallway and doesn't clean it up? Over. And Over. And Over again.) As far as I know, Tate doesn't clean it up either. Other residents have been maintaining their hallway. I know I've vacuumed our hallway carpet, put out honey/vinegar to trap a fly infestation that happened when trash wasn't collected for 2 weeks, and sprayed the hallways with deodorizer to eliminate animal waste and trash smells.

Staff here are really bad. Almost every place is better than here. Won't answer phone or resolve any issues. Escalated my issues to management for better results but they aren't any better.

ZERO STARS LISTEN TO REVIEWS DO NOT MOVE HERE. From the smoke alarms going off at 3 in the morning for WEEKS, to the trash not being collected and they might even charge you for leaving your trash out that they never picked up or to the drugs and cigarettes being left in my yard to the POOR management. Because just because it’s sparkly and shiny does NOT mean it’s gold and that is Tate at Tanglewood. DO NOT LIVE HERE. When I first moved in here in June in august I was already having issues with trash being thrown in my yard like cigarettes and drug bags. I went to report the findings to the front office on MORE than one occasion both the on site officer and Mario said they would “look into it.” And I NEVER heard from them again. About anything. I could see if I hadn’t just moved in a month prior and it was a simple light bulb replacement request but NO this is drugs and cigarettes being littered in my yard and no one is saying anything? I’m scared for my safety living here. I can not wait to move. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

I have to agree with the reviews I have read. The Management staff does enforce policies. I am all about pet friendly complex. But When you walk in and see animal waste and you have a guests with you. You can do nothing but be embarrassed. The trash Valet you pay for it but then again bring guest over and the trash sticks as you walk through the hall. I just stop having friends over cause it is a hit miss with this management staff. Will not be renew my lease this year.

I’ve been living here for 2 years but for the past 6 months it’s being bad going worst. First, no one enforces anymore the rules. I was finned once for having my trash out without the canister and understood that this was for good image and rules, but now you can find trash bags out of several apartments during the weekends (when trash is not collected) open, without canisters and nobody seems to care, even when I have expressed concerns about it. Second, elevators, floors and stairs are a complete pigpen with stains. Even this weekend I found near the door of the first floor elevator dog pee, but instead of maintenance cleaning it, they just put a “slippery” sign. Really?? Third and most important, if you don’t mind the smell of marihuana, you’ll be fine. Otherwise, get used to it because you’ll find it everywhere: hallways, elevators, stairs... I have made several complains about this but nobody seems to care because it keeps on going. If you are considering moving to this place, think twice. Don’t believe me? Ask for a tour on Friday afternoon or Saturday afternoon and you’ll see by yourself

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The disappointment in communication is an understatement. Not only did I have to call all throughout the day for someone to finally answer at 2p on a Monday. After paying my $280 to apply for an apartment which was discussed with Josie for me to move in at the end of the month. Confirmed with Josie on Tuesday that she would give me a call on Friday with my approval only to receive a call from Chrystal on Wednesday saying my move in date was to be the same Tuesday I spoke to Josie so they can no longer hold the apartment at that rate. Very confused how someone can move in without an approval or signing a lease. Per Chrystal I had to send her an email that she would then forward to her manager to investigate. Why did I need to send an email for their poor communication? It’s Saturday morning, no manager has called to apologize. I did call and Rehana answered, very kind and great customer service. She was extremely apologetic, not even the leasing agent I originally spoke to (Josie) has tried to call to rectify the situation. Poor poor poor customer service and communication. Thankfully they have agreed to give me back my $280 for the app and admin fee. I’m an admin at a clinic and I take customer service extremely serious with my patients. I will do a follow up call just to let them know I am still working on trying to get their matter resolved. Maybe take a page from my book and I’d still be leasing right now. Clearly this place doesn’t know the meaning of going the extra mile.

Recently there has been lots of talk about improving security due to crimes on the property. Don't get me wrong security should be a priority but they seem to lack the background to truly make a difference. Since the crimes generally involve the garage they have felt that switching over to a eztag garage system and limiting visitor parking outside the garage is a proper "deterrent" for crime. They will argue that the tag will be more secure and allow them to track who enters the property. While not necessarily a lie, most criminals will simply tailgate the car in front of them or drive in as someone leaves. The visitors "lot" is about 15 spaces cramped on the side of the garage entrance or the streets. Security for the lot is limited to camera at the front entrance and nothing else. My boyfriends car has been hit in the visitors lot and on the street but of course that's not their business. Speaking of the property being "secure". Several of magnetic doors around the property are weaker than a refrigerator magnet and pop right open. I won't point them out but they have been broken for about 4 months and they don't seem to notice. While they worry about updating the garage technology they don't even realize the building security is sub par. All in all they have no idea what they are doing and their attempts are only an illusion to get you to sign a lease.

This review is mainly for the employee by the name of REHANNA. I was waiting in the lobby area and REHANNA walked past me and said I'll be right with you. I said "okay, I'm just waiting to pick up packages" and then she said "okay but I said I'll be right with you". So she was already being a bit rude in the beginning. Few mins later she tells me to follow her to the mailroom. Never had a staff ever tell me to go inside the mailroom and I didn't feel comfortable doing that because that means other people can just walk in and take other people's packages. She hands me only one package and I tell her there's another one. She says to me in a standoffish tone "I'm with a customer right now and I was doing YOU a favor so you're going to have to WAIT." And she walked off and sat back down at her desk. She sat at her desk for a good 5 minutes and walked right past me again to give the customer a tour of the apartment. And you know apartment tours usually take 10 mins. Obviously, someone needs more training in customer service because that is not how you should speak to someone. And she didn't want to take another 1 min out of her time to just get my other package when she was already in the mailroom.

I was the one of the first 10 tenants to move into the complex in September 2016. They promised the pool would be opened and BBQ facilities available with 2 weeks, but that did not happen till winter set in. The intercom system never worked throughout my entire 12 month lease. There was high employee turnover throughout the 12 months there. At the conclusion of my lease they charged me for everything including replacement of the carpet and pad, stove top; and cleaning. Believe me, I lived alone and did not have any pets why I was charged all these things is purely to penalize me for not renewing my lease. Anyhow, the security deposit was not returned to me till after 90 days of vacating the property when Texas law say 30 days and so did my lease. I never got a straight answer from management and was pissed. I would like to see how they would treat tenants who did not pay rent for 90 day!! Anyhow, stay away from this complex; looks good on the outside; but they will nickle and dime you to death in the end. Also, beware of wild rap parties as management rents out the club room to people to throw wild parties on weekends. First and last time I rent from ZRS Management, LLC
