I’ve called Tattersall home since May 2019, and I must say, the staff here is fantastic! The maintenance team is particularly impressive, always quick to address any issues that arise. One thing’s for sure: we know how to have a good time at Tattersall! There’s never a dull moment at the clubhouse, with plenty of festive events happening regularly and the food and drinks consistently hitting the mark. As for renewing my lease, I’m leaning towards not doing it since they’ve eliminated the option for multi-year leases. I realize it won’t be easy to find another place like this, but a year-to-year lease just doesn’t work for me. Mariska our manager, is wonderful, even if we don’t see eye to eye on everything.

Tattersall is a friendly, beautifully landscaped neighborhood with mature flowering trees and shrubs and winding sidewalks for strolling with furry friends. Each of the well-built, distinctive buildings has a variety of architectural details and individual doorways--no bland cookie-cutter buildings with communal, noisy hallways. The rooms are spacious with large windows, plenty of closet space, and well as kitchen cabinets with granite countertops. The office and maintenance staff are professionally friendly and helpful. Residents range from young families, military, singles, and older folks. A serene feeling of living in the country but in reality only a 5-minute drive to many restaurants, groceries, schools, churches, etc. Highly recommend!

First, It's a "luxury" apartment complex that is poorly constructed. Your steps and floors will creak, and if you end up on the second floor, the neighbors will yell (understandably). We also fought with the administration for a whole winter to fix our water heater that they were simply too cheap to actually pay for the parts. Second, They require additional fees for unreliable or unnecessary services. Just tack on $60 a month to your rent and $300 at move out in. Third, the local staff seems to be trying and wanting to help while the corporation wants to bill you for every cent. Fourth, there's a dog poo problem, but instead of working with the people to fix the issue, they send out emails every two weeks complaining.

We've lived in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom at Tattersall for about 4 months and it's been a great experience so far. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, filled with police officers and military families. We don't hear our neighbors from any sides, except for on the occasional weekend night. There is a small shopping center around the corner with a 24 hour Super Walmart and a few other places, but to get to any other restaurants or stores you have to get on the highway. One of the few places we could have our larger dog and there are plenty of other dogs for him to play with - he loves the dog park! Only things we aren't huge fans of are having to do valet trash (there's no 'opt-out' option) and the major fees for paying rent online vs. paying with a check or money order. Overall, a great place to live and highly recommended!
We rented a three bedroom on a short term lease while waiting for our home to be built. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds were immaculate and the amenities were so convenient. The times we needed maintenance they were prompt. The location was so convenient for us. We would definitely recommend these apartments whether you are looking for something short or long term.
I have stayed at Tattersall for a little over 2 years now, and recently had to move. I am going to miss living there, as it is a great location. The staff is very helpful and always resolved any problems I had extremely fast. The pool in the summer is worth the stay, and the gym is kept very nice. The apartments are very nice and new. I loved my open floor plan and was great for entertaining. The neighborhood is safe and quite. The school district is the best in Chesapeake, and there are a lot of things to do for kids around the area. I wish they would have had them for sale, as I would have bought one for sure!! Thank you for the great stay and I will for sure miss this place.
Please do NOT rent here. I know the apartments appear to be nice, have good amenities, are in a good location, etc., but it is not worth it, trust me. These apartments were built so poorly. Cheap appliances, cheap fixtures, poor wiring. I could go on all day about the issues we had while living here, but there are four main ones you should know before you think about renting here. ONE: Due to poor construction and cheap shortcuts (aka they didn't insulate the pipes well enough), we had a sprinkler pipe burst in our apartment in the winter time. Thankfully we were on the second floor and it only flooded our front door landing area, but it was still annoying and our things could have potentially been ruined. TWO: In the middle of July our AC broke, and it took maintenance 3 and a half days to get it working again. My toddler son and I were living in an apartment that was 90 degrees inside. THREE: Right before we moved out, during a particularly heavy rainstorm, water started leaking from the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. FOUR: Once when I was home, without giving me prior written warning, Tattersall maintenance workers used their key to come into my apartment to change the filter in the AC unit. We have an alarm that they could have set off had I not been there, or I could have been in the shower or any other number of scenarios. This is a huge invasion of privacy and against the lease agreement, where they are required to give you proper advance notice if they will be entering the apartment to do work that isn't an emergency. The front office workers, although nice enough, are never on the same page with one another and never seem to know exactly what's going on.
Do not live here. You pay a lot of money for a cheaply built apartment. Walls smudge and scratch easily and are thin, floors look and feel cheap like rubber, the door knobs come off easily, the outside doors slam behind you so you can here neighbors slam their doors at 5am, and many of the bottom floor apartments are infested with spiders. You are required to have your carpet professionally cleaned when you move out however, a few neighbors have told me it has damaged their carpet because it is so cheap. The staff is very unorganized and never seem to know what they're doing. I told them that I was not renewing my lease 60 days before it was up and no one told me I had to sign a vacate notice until they called me a week before my move out date telling me I never told them I was leaving. When my husband got back from deployment they gave him their spare key instead of an official key and then accused us of taking their spare key and not giving it back. Do not live here. The nice pool and granite countertops are not worth living here

I've been a new resident at Tattersall Luxury Apartments for 6 months. Everything about it is indeed "luxury"! The amenities are great and it is very kids friendly as well as for pets. I have had no complaints! Tattersall is quiet and accommodating for all ages and unique lifestyles. The neighborhood itself is very clean and maintained weekly. It is located in a great area in Chesapeake, Va so shopping is convenient. Anyone would enjoy making here their home along with meeting great people!! Highly recommended!
Six months ago when I moved into Tattersall I thought I this property was an aesthetic masterpiece. In July 2015 a pipe burst in the kitchen and that was the beginning of my living nightmare. The water flooded into eight other apartments on the property. I received a call on August 1st that a restoration company was on site to access my apartment. I was not informed that they were coming nor was I informed as to as to why they were there. I was told it was an “emergency” that they immediately access my apartment. “Emergency” is not the best word to use as no one showed up to start repairs until 7/31/2015. The leasing office replaced the carpet in the bedroom 7/27. The flooring under the carpet in the bedroom as 8/3 was still wet as another company had to lift the new carpet to insert fans to continue the drying process. August 12, the master bathroom, the only bathroom, ceiling started leaking and to this day is still leaking. This property was poorly built and more than likely wasn't inspected for safety.
On July 24th, I awoke to an apartment flooded with water. I could have been electrocuted as there was water in every room of the apartment and power cords were on the floor. I received a call on August 1st that a restoration company was on site to access my apartment. I was not informed that they were coming nor was I informed as to as to why they were there. I was told it was an “emergency” that they immediately access my apartment. “Emergency” is not the best word to use as no one showed up to start repairs until 7/31/2015. The leasing office replaced the carpet in the bedroom 7/27. Freshen Up, the company hired by Tattersall, threw wet items onto dry items causing more stains on my bedding. I was told by management that the cleanup would take a couple of days. It is now August 4th and my apartment is not habitable. The contractors who were hired to start the cleanup process did not use and are not using precautionary measures to ensure that no other damage would occur to my property (water/dust/debris) nor are they being careful or considerate about how they handle other people’s property. They didn’t cover any furniture and as a result of their negligence, my furniture and all of my belongings are now covered in dust and debris. The community manager, did however offer to let me use one of the model homes while the repairs were taking place. I appreciate the gesture, however, I work from home and the model home does not have internet. I was forced out of the apartment due to blowers being installed and circulating dust and fiberglass particles through the apartment. I had to move myself into the model home which is also covered in dust. Let me reiterate, Tattersall did not offer to move me and/or my belongings into the model or another vacant apartment on the property. I had to move myself and my belongings and I have a bulging disc in my L4/L5 area of my spine. This has not only affected my health, but it has also affected my job as I don’t have internet to work from home and Tattersall has taken steps to remedy the internet situation after I told them that the alternate internet source didn’t work. Fast forward two weeks, the ceiling in the bathroom started leaking. Rent at your own risk!
Noise is horrible. I'm on 2nd floor and I hear everything below me ... talking, doors shutting, and my floor shakes when neighbors run the garbage disposal. Apartments look nice but there are a lot of mistakes upon closer inspection. Looks like a lot of corners were cut. Staff members don't keep tenants informed about construction or amenity availability.
I toured it was very nice but did not have anything for me.
