The sprawling University of Iowa spills across the Iowa River and into Downtown Iowa City: the Main Library, the Engineering Library, the English-Philosophy Building, the College of Education, and the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History are all in the Downtown neighborhood. As a result, Downtown Iowa City is filled with students in backpacks walking to class. This is most definitely Hawkeye country, and the neighborhood is covered in black and gold. During college football season, you'll find many residents heading across the river to Kinnick Stadium to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
With its wide sidewalks, outdoor cafes, and numerous bicycles parked in bike racks, Downtown Iowa City is a great place to live, often topping "best" lists for livability and as one of the nation's best college towns. Shops and restaurants fill the historic architecture, and cobblestone streets add an old-world elegance to the district.

Property Ratings at Telluride Apartments
They will charge you beyond your security deposit regardless of the condition you leave your apartment in. Will never live at any place affiliated with this company again
Telluride has a great location to down town iowa city. However, their management is awful. We have not had hot water for over three weeks now. We have been in contact with the landlord and they told us to let the water run until it gets hot, 30 minutes later we got luke warm water. We have made maintenance request, emailed and called the landlord multiple times. They have not done anything to fix the problem, just stating that we have hot water and that they are within code of the city, which now to find out they aren't after having the city come look at our water. After two weeks of fighting with them we received an email that they are getting new water heaters, but not for another two weeks, but they still have told us there is nothing wrong with our water. AWFUL management. The great location is not worth living here.
Property Manager at Telluride Apartments, Responded To This Review
We sincerely apologize that your experience renting with us has not been satisfactory. When this problem was brought to our attention we had a plumber come out and test the water heaters. The plumber told us the water heater was meeting city code, which is what we then relayed to the tenants. When the issue persisted, maintenance found that the water was not reaching city code for certain units. There had been city construction happening during that time and that caused the problem because debris from construction was found inhibiting the heating system from working correctly. The water heaters were replaced and the issue was resolved. Tenant issues are always important to management and we remain vigilant and responsive until the issue is resolved. We set high standards for our company and I’m sorry we did not meet your expectations.
