Property Ratings at Terra Creek Apartments
I have lived in this apartment building in Rockford for going on 4 years now and have never had any problems. The leasing office is extremely helpful and the one time my heat seemed to stop working in the middle of winter they sent someone within an hour of me saying something to them and they had told me no one should go without heat. My unit is older but it has been kept well maintained and there really is not any noise that I hear from any of my neighbors. Really cannot recommend these apartments enough and especially the responsiveness of maintenance and the leasing office.
The apartments are great, very well kept, and comfortable. The staff is extremely nice and I have never had a bad interaction with them ever, they are great and will answer any questions you have. The maintenance service is phenomenal. For instance, our refrigerator was having a little trouble keeping cold and maintenance was there within the hour to exchange it with a brand new one! The facility is wonderful and the weight room is perfect for a nice workout when you don't want to drive to the gym, not to mention there is a pool in the summer time! The management is great and they even have soup and sandwich get togethers that all the residents are invited to every once in awhile. It is also located near any store or restaurant you may need without feeling like you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Truly a great place to live!
I currently live here and the walls are paper thin. The snow removal is non-existent. My car has been stuck in the snow often in the parking lot of my own apartment building. There isn't an emergency number for serious situations and staff are slow to return calls if at all. I now know why the rent was so low, you truly get what you pay for in this case. Do not move here.

I appreciate residents taking the time to give us feedback. However, I wish you would have contacted the office regarding your concerns to allow us the opportunity to discuss them. We had issues that were not under our control with the snow removal companies on the first very large snowfall this season. This has been corrected and all subsequent snow removal has been fine. We also give all residents a sheet of emergency phone numbers at their time of move in. If you lost or misplaced your sheet, we would have been very happy to send you another one as we want emergencies to be dealt with promptly. The office generally returns all phone calls the day they come in if at all possible. I am sorry you are unhappy with our property and would greatly appreciate it if you would call the office so we could discuss any issues you may have.
Pros: The ladies in the front office are beyond nice; attached garage for each apartment; easy walking to restaurants, shops, grocery store, FedEx, etc.; gym and pool on-site; nearby park to visit; pet-friendly, easy access to I-90. Cons: The Burlington Coat Factory light is really bright and can shine in some windows depending on where you are. I've been a resident for almost 2 years and wouldn't choose a different complex in all of Rockford.
I lived at Terra Creek for about a year & received numerous complaints about my dog for many different reasons. Things you should know before renting at Terra creek: Make sure your dog is incapable of barking (at any hour, but especially during the day when nobody is home - that is the best time for people to complain), don’t let them go to the bathroom outside unless you’re there with a bag, scoop, and fertilizer to make sure the grass isn’t stained after use, & don’t ever. Ever. Expect other people or management to be understanding of what it is like to own a dog, because nobody who lives there is. Also, when Other people let their dog use the bathroom in the common grass area without penalty, don’t expect them to get in trouble. But if your dog does it, you better believe you’ll get an email from the incompetent management. Don’t waste your money if you have pets that eat, breathe, or make any noise whatsoever.

I appreciate you taking the time to give us some feedback as we are always striving to improve our customer service and keep our residents satisfied. It is a challenge to be a pet friendly apartment community as pets bring another dimension of issues, and it is often difficult to determine who is not picking up after their pet properly. We cannot allow animals to make constant noise that disturbs other residents, and we also expect all residents with pets to pick up after them immediately as it is unsanitary to have dog droppings all over the property. I am sorry you feel that management and other residents do not understand pet ownership.
I searched over 10 different apartment complexes and Terra Creek not only had the best floor plan and garage space, but was also walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and banks. In addition their staff was the most courteous when working with me on my relocation issues. No wonder they are almost always max capacity, their places and service are worth it.
