In the shadow of Mount Rainier and bordering Puget Sound, Federal Way's ruggedly beautiful landscape provides endless outdoor adventures, from hiking and camping to fishing and boating. But this fantastic location has even more benefits -- Federal Way is on the northeast side of Tacoma, less than 10 miles from downtown. Seattle is just 22 miles north, and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is only 12 miles north.
Federal Way provides great shopping, plenty of restaurants, and amazing parks. Dash Point State Park, home to the popular Dash Point Beach, covers 398 acres along Puget Sound. It has over 3,300 feet of shoreline along with 11 miles of hiking trails, eight miles of biking trails, picnic areas, an amphitheater, and a campground. Visitors enjoy activities like swimming, fishing, beachcombing, kayaking, skim boarding, and windsurfing.
Wild Waves Theme Park provides a different type of fun.

Timely Manner I have a blind dog and I have a hard time containing him in the living room away from his food/water for the day so maintenance can do their job. The policy of Terra Apartments, is to not make appointments. But the staff always works with me so I can limit the amount of time my blind dog is away from his food/water. I want to thank them for going above and beyond to accommodate me. The last service request was done with less than 5 minutes of notice Thank you!
I really like the lady in the office. She was nice and helpful.

Office isn't open when it says it is, the place sold already owned parking spots to other people and then doesn't care when you try to tell them they messed up and then tows your car when you try to adapt by parking in a usually empty spot, hikes up the rent at random and then says "oh my bad" and does it again the next month. Poor plumbing system that got blocked in both apartments I visited.
This place is yet let and I've been unfortunate enough to be stuck here for almost a decade. They change the outside, sell it to someone new and hike up the rent. They don't take care of anything and the washer dryers are disgusting. The pool is never open.and the staff is so rude it made my 5yo cry.
*Do not* tent from here! My wife and I lived here for around a year and our experience was torment. My wife’s car got broken into within the first month of our tenancy, and despite the security they spent a lot of time talking up during the initial tours, we didn’t so much as get a heads up about the break in. The front desk showed us a photo security took of the scene of the break in but they refused to take any accountability for it and did not even let us know what they had discovered because “it was too late.” Our room got infested by flees- the *biggest* infestation I’ve seen in my life- and it was like pulling teeth getting into contact with them about this. When they finally got back to us, all they did was blame our cat for the infestation (who, at the time, was entirely indoors and had flee treatment) without even taking a look at the room. When I said I found hundreds of eggs, flee dirt, dead and live flees in the heat vents, they danced around the issue, gave script speak, and said they would not take care of the matter. They also told us we were not allowed to have an exterminator come take care of it ourselves. They also made mistakes on their end and at least twice, we got notices taped to our door of incoming re-attempts to bill rent due *months ago* citing “encountering processing errors”. They never so much as apologized to us or helped us to find a solution. They only provided script speak and warnings of impending re-charges. They also made a mistake processing our last month’s rent deposit and admitted to them being responsible for it, both on the phone and with my wife in person. However they refused to resolve the matter themselves and spent about a year trying to collect it despite us already paying last month’s before and proving it. Some other tidbits before I wrap up: -Huge crime problem in the hotel. At least once a week there was a loud screaming match in the hallways, sometimes with banging on the walls. We had to call the police once because we thought someone was in danger. -They were very hard to contact about anything, but they were lightning fast when it came to citing us a $20 penalty for having a potted plant and bird feeder on our porch. I refused to pay this. -We waited a long time to get maintenance out to look at our faulty dishwasher. I have to get going. But please, if you’re considering living at the Union, don’t. It’s nothing but trouble and mismanagement for $850 a month.
Management is awful. I was optimistic moving in because they recently went under new management but it is the worst place I have ever lived in. People dont take care of their pets so the stair cases smell like wet dog or dog pee constantly. the management never keeps up with cleaning the halls or stairs, so that smell will NEVER go away. parking is a nightmare. it took me over 6 month to get a paid parking spot after coming in once a week for 6 MONTHS to get a spot. Washer and dryers are all on the first floor which is fine, but it is always so gross in there because nobody ever cleans this place that I wont even do my laundry here anymore. Not to mention the super high prices per load and the washers are TINY. Oh, and the machine to load money on to your laundry card is broke about 50% of the time so good luck there. The walls are PAPER thin. My first week here as I was lying in bed I could hear my neighbor snoring on the other side of the wall. CLEARLY. Oh and have I gotten to the part yet where none of the windows are insulated? Not a single one of them. I am dreading having to finish my lease up here for the next 5 months... I do not recommend living here ever!!!
Unfortunately my family and I have lived here for a couple years and If I had the funds to move I would have a long time ago. This is not somewhere I would recommend, maybe for a single person who works all the time and will never be home. As far as having a family these apartments are definetly somewhere that should be checked off the list no matter the price. There is always something going on whether it being loud yelling neighbors, Annual checks every couple months ,cops being here, people jumping out windows etc. I do not keep my windows unlocked or back door open when home alone. The maintenance is slow and takes forever to get around to fixing any type of problem even being an emergency. When they do they just use paint to seal issues such as mold. It is hard having to put up with these type of problems with kids, these are one of the cheapest apartments in the area you definetly get what you pay for.
