Since the end of the 20th century, Akron has largely reinvented itself and retained its status as one of the prime cities of the Midwest. Known for years as the “Rubber Capital of the World,” Akron was once a center for technological innovation. Today, this cultural center offers all the urban conveniences of a big city like Cleveland, but in a more intimate setting.
The nearly 20,000 students at the University of Akron heavily influence the city’s culture. Between the Zips sporting events and arts community on campus, there’s a vibrant feel to the city center, not to mention the bars and restaurants that cater to such a crowd. Grades K-12 have plenty of highly-rated schooling options as well. The Plaza at Chapel Hill houses a variety of stores and shops that will delight any shopper, and the Akron Zoo is a must-see for visitors and residents alike.

Property Ratings at Terraces on the Green
I have been living here for a year so far and I have no complaints. The office staff is very kind accommodating and personable. I saw a review saying that rent is due on the 1st with no grace period, it was made in 2019 so maybe the property was owned by a different company because that was not my experience. Rent is due on the 1st but you have until the 5th before you get a late fee or any eviction process is started. At one point I had an emergency where my savings was depleted and my other bills need to be paid so I did not have the full rent. The front office was EXTERMELY accommodating, nothing like I ever experienced before from an apartment. I was able to pay my rent late, with late fees of course but they really listened and understood my situation and worked with me. I was very appreciative. Also, I saw something about maintenance. In my experience they work very quickly. My hot water heater was leaking during the night, the family downstairs called because it began to leak into their apartment and the maintenance emergency crew was at my house with a fan and shop vac immediately. However, the apartments are very pricy, I do not blame them because everywhere is pricy right now!

Thank you for the great review! We are delighted to hear that you have been met with such great support from our team. Let us know if there is anything we can do to make your already positive living experience even better!
First off, this place is ridiculous and I can not stress this enough. They’re so quick to put an eviction notice on your door if you’re a day late but yet they let people live in one of their show units for free. They promote that they have 24 hour security but never see them. You cannot get a garage close to your unit, The appliances are so out of date from 1997, the cabinets are awful. They make so much money and charge so much but yet won’t update anything! Maintenance is lazy and never wants to actually fix the problem, they just slap a bandaid on and hope it’s fixed. You can spend your money elsewhere and find an even better place worth the the money you’ll pay here or maybe even less. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

I lived here for two years and moved out in June 2019. I debated posting this, but felt I should share my experience. I've lived in several rental properties through the years and this was by far the worst experience. Within two months of moving in, the main waterline burst and flooded my entire apartment in the middle of summer, causing me to have to move out for two months while they restored the unit. The day after the apartment flooded, which happened in the middle of the night, I went to work. I came home to most of my stuff packed and boxed up without ever being notified they hired a company to come into my apartment in the first place. So not only was I expected to get out that day, I also could not find anything because all my stuff was thrown into boxes, bags, etc. by young men working for the restoration company they hired. I was never offered another unit to live in or any help whatsoever. Luckily, I had family close-by that I could stay with. Fast forward a year later, I had a mice infestation, which was unexpected to say the least. They said they had an exterminator come out and couldn't tell where the mice were getting in from. However, I happened to be there when they replaced my stove a few days later, and there was a golf ball-sized hole in the wall behind my stove. Clearly they had not looked very hard, especially considering I let them know that I had seen them run under the stove. You would think that would be the first place they would have checked. Maintenance came out and filled the hole the next day, and I stopped having mice issues. Maintenance is great about fixing things and very friendly. I know this because I was constantly seeing them with things going wrong. At least once a month or every other month, I had issues with my toilet, shower, dishwasher, etc. breaking. These apartments are not cheap, and you should not have these reoccurring issues with the amount you pay to live here. I cleaned like a maniac when I moved out, and I was lucky enough to get my deposit back in full. My two friends who lived here also got their full deposit back after moving out. Being able to have dogs is nice. The dog park is a great feature and we used it all the time. The apartments are a good size and fairly open. The complex is quiet. However, the cons far outweigh the pros for this place. I've never had so many issues in a rental before and would advise anyone considering these apartments to stay away and look elsewhere.

We are disappointed your experience was not more enjoyable. We are committed to addressing all resident concerns, and we wish we could have parted on better terms with you. Our resident experience is our number priority, and we seek to improve with every interaction. We wish you the best.
Please don't move into this apartment complex. I barely made it a year here and I am itching to move out. The staff will come into your unit without your permission, and then claim it was an emergency to cover their backs. I had to have a security camera installed in my unit (to which I caught the maintenance men in my unit looking around). There is no privacy, your neighbors will be nosy. Rent is due on the first of every month. I paid on the second for September and came home to a $25 late fee and an eviction notice in 30 days if my account wasn't brought to current. This place is a joke. I promise you can find a better apartment for a similar rate. Apartments have been broken into, left open by maintenance guys, and on top of all of that Julie will harass you any chance she gets. If you like coming home to letters taped to your door this is definitely the place for you.

It is very unsettling for us to read that you feel this way towards our staff. We take these reviews very seriously and would like to gather more information regarding what you have mentioned. We take great pride in our ability to work with our residents to provide them with a more than comfortable place to call home. When you were able, please reach out to a team member in our office or over the phone at (330) 645-6071. Thank you.
I live in a 2 bedroom unit and has been a great experience so far. The complex is well maintained. They do landscaping and mow often, and it always looks nice. I like that they have a fenced in dog park. There are never any dogs there, but it is nice to have an area to go and let my dog run around in. The office staff have been nothing but nice and helpful. Even after moving in, they make you feel welcome and it seems that they truly want you to be happy here. The apartments are huge compared to most. There is plenty of storage (I live in a 2 bedroom alone) and plenty of extra space. The open kitchen is nice. It makes your living room and apartment in general feel open and bigger. I think my favorite part of this complex is how safe and secure I feel living here. I always see sheriff cars patrolling in the evenings, and all night on the weekends. They sit by the entrance gate and watch people come in and out, which makes me feel safer. It is also a very quiet complex. If you are looking for a place where you can throw parties, this is not the place for you. However, you do hear an occasional dog parking or other noises, so it's not totally silent. I live on the first floor and can sometimes hear my upstairs neighbors walking around, but you will have that anywhere. The walls do not seem to be thin - I have never heard any of my neighbors beside/ behind my unit. I painted my living room, and it really made a huge difference. It feels more homey than any other apartment I have lived in. To summarize: Pros: Large units, dog park, washer and dryer in unit, plenty of storage space, lots of parking, safe and secure, gym, pool, well maintained, location, quiet, maintenance if awesome and responds quickly, golf course practically in your back yard, plenty of "doggy waste cans" and bags throughout the complex, accepts bigger dogs Cons: Expensive and slightly overpriced, water bill for 2 bedroom is set to $40/ month even for just one person, dish washer often doesn't clean properly, entrance gate is often broken, garages are not worth the price (I did not get one), there could be a nice restaurant or 2 or a decent grocery store on Arlington Road. A lot of nearby restaurants have gone out of business (not that the complex can change that). Overall it has been a great experience. I work in downtown Akron and this was the closest complex that is still safe. It works well for me.
First of all, the location for this apartment complex is great. Within 2-3 minutes you have Target, Kohl's, Staples, Walmart, Lowes, Auto Zone, Home Depot, a movie theater, Chipotle, Panera, and whatever fast food you care to have (and much more). Chenoweth golf course is adjacent to the complex. You're also 2 traffic lights away from route 77 north & south for quick access to Akron/Canton. At night, the complex is well lit. There are sidewalks all throughout and my wife and I frequently enjoy night walks and have never felt unease. There is an exit gate that is down until someone pulls up, and an entrance gate that goes down after 7pm so it feels more secure. I've said a lot about the outside and location, but the apartments themselves are not lacking. The main area is very open and the ceilings are high (if you're upstairs, the ceilings are vaulted even higher). No worries of water leaking, as they have proactively repaired roofing after harsh winters. There can be some noise, but mostly from above if you're on the ground floor. I've heard an adjacent neighbors' cabinets slam a couple of times, but we're right next to the dog park and almost never hear barking. Finally, I'm very happy with the accessibility. My wife is in a wheelchair and she was given her own parking space. When it was too cold to dig for the the handicap sign, one of the women from the office went around to all the neighbors to ask them to keep the spot free, and they did. We got a ground level unit that had been remodeled to ADA standards with a wide hallway and wider doorways, as well as an alternative layout of the kitchen for more space. Before we even moved in they did things like lower shelving, remove doors, and swap the way the fridge opened to make things more usable. No apartment is going to be perfect, but we're very happy with this one and glad we ended up here.
My apartment manager and maintenance team are amazing. They are there when ever you need them.this apartment complex has won many awards.it has a clubhouse with a sana, workout room and a pool that makes you feel like you are somewhere in California or Hawaii other than Akron Ohio.I have lived here for 5 years and would recommend this apartment complex to everyone.
My husband and I moved into a one bedroom apartment at The Terraces on the Green a little over a year ago. We loved it so much that when our lease was up we didn't want to leave. We knew we wanted more room so we waited until a two bedroom unit was available and promptly signed a 2 year lease. The two bedrooms are definitely worth the price! They have a great amount of space, loads of storage, and having 2 bathrooms is wonderful! The neighborhood here is very peaceful and we love having access to a pool and workout facility. Our new building has plenty of parking....there was a tad bit of a parking problem in our original building because we were in the very back corner and the 2 guys that lived in the 2nd floor of our corner regularly took up 5 of the 8 parking spots. The new building has parking galore! The folks here also wonderful. If there are ever any problems they fix it immediately and they make sure everything is perfect for you when you move in. Terraces on the Green is also a very pet friendly community. We definitely recommend this complex when folks ask us for apartment ideas.
I lived here with my wife for 2 years. Loved everything about it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Didn't even have to change a light bulb! just called maintenance and let them, done that day! I will call this home again someday.
Perfect mix of residents. close to airports, and plenty of restaurants. Pet friendly and outdoor area. Pool and club house along with many other amenities. Right beside a great golf course. Area is a great fit for anyone.
Leaved for a year , but when left the house extremely clean . They put lame excuses for not refunding the deposit . Will not recommend to anyone to waste his / her hard earned money ...
The staff appeared friendly at first, then we noticed they started becoming very rude. We ended up needing to extend our lease for a new month, we would have been out early in the month and we're not willing to even pro-rate the rent which was double what was originally offered. The dishwasher was broken for two months, maintenance ignored requests to fix it. The Other tenants were self-righteous and extenely pretentious. This is not an easy going place to live, no one makes you feel welcome and it's right next to the highway. I couldn't wait to move out.
I have leaved in this community complex and also has my daughter during her college years. Overall rating is excellent compared to others in the area. I recently have reconsidered renting again and this would be the only place I would consider. Thank you for Terrace of Green for keeping a well balanced complex safe, friendly and well maintained.
Very nice looking and great location to be by shopping, restaurants, and the expressway.
