Property Ratings at Terwilliger
I have lived in this complex for about 5 months! I haven't had any problems. Their app to pay rent and put a work order is very helpful. The maintenance guys are incredible and do a very good job. So far it has been the best complex I have lived in.
I want to give a shout-out to the manager and the maintenance guy at Terwilliger Terrace Apartments - 7425 SW Barbur Boulevard in Portland. Over the many years I’ve lived here, I really came to appreciate the same day response, sometimes the same hour response! Very efficient too – they would call to learn about the problem, so they were prepared with the tools and materials needed before they got to my apartment.

What a wonderful review. We believe that your home is your castle and if it is important to you it is just as important to us. We will continue to provide excellent customer service and thank you for the sparkling review.
I'm sad to leave my beautiful apartment which had a new cabinets and granite counters. I was spoiled by having Fred Myer's shopping center across the street and the 5 bus lines which stopped in front of the building to give me a 5-minute lift to downtown. Also, the manager, Shelly always seemed to be around when I needed help with a smile.

We will continue to provide excellent customer service and will always respond with a smile. Thank you for this wonderful review.
This apartment complex recently changed management and it has been terrible ever since. We recently turned out rent into the dropbox on time, only to receive a form stating that they never received our rent, which we owed ASAP and a late fee about 4 days later. When we called to talk to someone about the issue, we found out that they were missing 6 other rent checks and that someone's rent check had been stolen and attempted to be cashed by an unknown person. Turns out someone had used something to open the dropbox and steal rent checks. Rather than noticing that it was questionable so many rent checks were stolen and looking into it, they just decided to charge everyone for late rent. That's not at all the end of it. Our fire alarm battery died a bit ago and we let the old management know that we needed a new one, which they never ended up bring us before management changed. With new management always brings apartment inspections. When they saw our alarm down still needing a battery they decided to charge us a $250 fee. After we told the leasing lady, Michelle, that we had already reported the dead battery and had been waiting for the battery and we couldn't really afford a fee that we didn't think we deserved since we had taken the appropriate steps to take care of the issue, she simply stated, "well if you have documentation of that then we will see but its no skin off my back". $250 isn't chump change for us and her belittling comment was more than offensive. She said she would look to see if old management had kept records of our request and maybe we wouldn't have to pay. A couple days later we opened our door to find an envelope with a balance statement for the $250 fee and a hand written note stating "sorry no record found from old management and it is the same situation for other tenets who reported dead batteries but never got them. Sorry." So how is it our fault that the old management wasn't very thorough and clearly if so many other tenets were experiencing the same issues, why do we have to pay for their mistakes. It is simply because to this terrible management company we are all just rent checks. No compassion or understanding from any of them. I highly suggest you look somewhere else for housing or be prepared to deal with a management company that will treat you like you are nothing.

We are very sorry to see this review. It is unfortunate that you had this experience. We have made the necessary changes and hope that your experience for the last year and a half have been better. We try to make every attempt to make your home safe and secure and will continue to try to improve our customer service and resident response.
The previous property management company was very responsive, kind, and considerate. They just recently changed management and the transition has been very rocky. The apartments are in decent condition but could use some maintence. They are also very loud from I-5 traffic. Since the new management has taken over I have had a very difficult time getting in touch with anyone regarding basic questions despite leaving multiple messages. Even when I was able to get through no one seemed to be able to answer my questions. I hope that they can get back to the swing of things quickly.
Property Manager at Terwilliger, Responded To This Review
We are sorry to hear of this. In any transition there are some bumps along the way. We have made the necessary adjustments to management and believe these changes are making a difference. It is so unfortunate when things happen in a transition and it appears that some items got lost in the shuffle. We have gone into each apartment home and done maintenance and upgraded them over the past 2 years. We certainly hope we have "gotten back in the swing of things" and welcome the opportunity to demonstrate these changes.
