Property Ratings at TGM Bay Isle
After residing in this residence for eight months, I encountered an issue where my ceiling began to leak, resulting in the visible growth of mold within the bedroom. Despite submitting a maintenance request, the management failed to address the issue, for 3 months, neglecting to repair both the leaky roof and the mold. Despite assurances of a contractor's visit, no action was taken. Regrettably, the management did not offer alternative accommodation or provide an option to terminate the lease. Consequently, prolonged exposure to mold prompted me to seek medical attention, leading to a referral to an immune response specialist. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this accommodation due to the evident negligence of the management.
We have lived here for two years now , this is the third time our apartment has flooded. First time they dried out our apartment with dehumidifier and fans which did nothing because now we have mold behind our cabinets. The second time it happened nothing was done, we had to fight to even get fans and a dehumidifier again, two days later after the flood We received no call from management to see what they were going to do to even try and fix the issues When we did talk to the front office we were told that it was our responsibility to put in a service ticket to fix the damage from a flood. It has been now a month later and we still have yet to receive a call from management We put in a ticket to maintenance and they did nothing besides call someone to paint over the water damage. They did nothing about our ticket we put in for the mold, all they did was say they completed the ticket and no one ever came by our apartment This place is a joke and not worth the money you pay for so called premium liking
Long story short, after many phone calls not being able to reach their office, multiple property visits, maintenance issues neglected for weeks on end prior to physically moving in, and legal action, this poorly managed company screwed me out of my deposit and more than a month's rent despite the fact that I never even was able to move into a safe and sanitary unit. I would give negative stars if I could. Strongly advise not wasting your time and money here.
They allow the ground crews to destroy ground nesting bird nests , like ducks and marsh hens. They just eliminated the last half-way decent aesthetic on the grounds by painting all of the copper cladding black. Yes they painted over copper. I am so sick of the degradation of this property since I first moved here in 2016, and on top of it all, my rent has DOUBLED over that time. This management company stinks. The maintenance crews know NOTHING about how to fix plumbing or even about painting. They use the cheapest, ignorant labor they can when they should be hiring specialists. One of their morons tried to tie a dishwashing machine into the plumbing using duct tape. If I hadn't seen it, our apartment would have been flooded. Avoid this place at all costs.
Worst management and staff. It’s like talking to a wall and nothing gets done. You can file as many complaints and nothing will ever get done.
This place is beautiful , well kept and modern. What makes it so special is the fantastic maintence crew who always helps and treats you like royalty.
We lived at TGM Bay Isle for 4 solid years but rental renewals here are ~$400, no matter if you've lived here awhile or not. Overall, we had a decent experience but it seems to be on the decline. Low crime, fairly quiet complex minus dogs and highway sounds nearby, and somewhat friendly neighbors. Our AC and water heater were extremely old, but were replaced over the years. Maintenance shows up and does the best they can. Office staff is pretty worthless. Wouldn't be somewhere we'd consider to live now, but our advice is to shop around.
I am a new resident and have recently moved in September 2021. I would like to start off by stating the cleaning crew and the maintenance staff are 1000% helpful, quick in fixing your needs, and super friendly. BUT This place needs to fire all of their entitled office staff. From the very first day that I arrived I was not impressed with their presentation or their people skills. The door is glass so when you knock on it they can see you. They walked past me several times and didn’t even acknowledge that I was outside like a one moment please or just a second”. NOTHING!!! THEN I was told this was a gated community, The gate is broken and left open all hours of the night. The key to my apartment did not work and neither do the Clubhouse keys. (I was told everything was activated) I showed up five minutes before 9 AM when they open to try and get my keys replace. Again the office staff walked straight past the glass and didn’t even acknowledge me. Not even stating they open up at 9 AM or can you wait a few minutes. Just straight rude. Part of what they’re supposed to be selling is hospitality, and this is supposed to be my new home but I do not feel at home with staff members who rolled her eyes at me for no reason and don’t acknowledge me. I wish I would’ve came here with my boyfriend when he first got the apartment because I would’ve walked right out. I plan to leave as soon as possible because who wants to live somewhere where they do not feel welcomed. This location definitely needs manners.
It may look nice when they are showing you all the amenities that are on property but just know you must be on your best behavior or they will take it away from you just like your recess in elementary school. For the last couple of months our pool has been open but you will have to provide your own chair as they still don't want to put out the furniture and sanitize it. Florida gyms have been open for months now and ours still remain closed. The tennis court that absolutely no one uses just opened up. The trash valet is a joke and they will pick and choose what bags of trash they want to take. You are better off paying a little bit more and finding a property that actually appreciates you and wants you to stay. They will make you give a 60 day notice but they will only give you the renewal letter 5 days before the 60 day notice is due. Lastly we have a unique situation and we have contact numerous people within the company to discuss and make sure that it is a win-win for both sides however they seem not to care and have now stopped responding after our last couple of contact attempt. I'm sure we will get the note on here that we are sorry about your experience and to contact them to discuss, well we have numerous times and still radio silence. There are 10-15 apartments withing a 3 mile radius and I would recommend looking those before coming here.
After the day we move-in, we have mentioned that our patio was not clean on the move-in form and its now 4 months, the request to clean patio is not full-filled. When asked about it, the leasing office management is saying that it is resident's responsibility to clean it and they won't provide house-keeping. This is obviously disappointing us. Advise to Management: If you cannot provide exterior apartment(Patio) in clean condition, please do not advertise it as a premium feature.
I’ve looked at a dozen places before I chose TGM. I loved all the green spaces for my dogs, the trail along the pond and luscious landscape. I came from NE and this was everything I dreamed of for a rental place in Florida. Sure there are some nicer complexes but of course you pay more and typically you’re looking at a parking lot for a view. My view of the pond is worth every penny. And not to mention my pups love it. There’s plenty of green space to let your dogs do business which is key if you have skittish ones like mine. This place also has all the amenities as other complexes so you’re not losing out in my opinion. Plus it’s the ideal location if you’re working or visiting Tampa.
Property Manager at TGM Bay Isle, Responded To This Review
Thank you for giving TGM Bay Isle an extraordinary 5-star review! We're thrilled to see that you love our beautiful, pet-friendly environment and convenient amenities, and we look forward to continuing to make you and your furry friend feel at home here in the future.
First apartment I had German Cockroaches living in the appliances. They were all over! The office staff was not very helpful, anyone who was helpful is not there anymore. I’d avoid this place for those looking for an apartment to reside in.
This place is more than we could have asked for. The location is PERFECT. The bus stop is right in front which can take us to downtown in no time to walk the city, see all the different museums, hospitals, parks, and much more. We have an amazing parking garage where we can leave our car on the level where we live so we don't need to climb stairs with groceries, not to mention there are elevators. Publix, Dollar General and several restaurants are a stone throw away next door so we can walk there anytime we need something. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If we need anything they are right on it. The apartments themselves, are clean and very roomy with a very well planned out floor plan with plenty of closet space for everything. The kitchen is BEAUTIFUL where our whole family has room to cook together without getting into each others way. We HIGHLY recommend these apartments.
After searching 5 months for the perfect setting and apartment...this is it.!!..The grounds are beautiful, pools always quiet and clean. The abundance of nature, birds, palm trees and the ponds are a beautiful scene to come home to. New manager Jackie and each one of her staff have gone beyond to make my stay here so far enjoyable. I moved in 6 months ago and plan to stay a long time. Maintenence guys are great and with the carded gates everywhere this is a safe place to live. Love it here..J
Our leasing agent Enrique is very friendly. He made the whole process of moving in easy and fast. We have been living here for 4 weeks now. We had few maintenance request and they all got taking care of in timely manner. We are happy to live here. It is peaceful place. We love the walk around the lake with all the animals to watch.
This place is not good for a living. OK to look at, terrible to live in. The staff is a revolving door so don't expect any resolutions to any issues that you have. There aren't anywhere near enough parking spaces for a place this big. If you don't get home after 8pm expect to park somewhere other than where you live. Many people park here who don't live here. The complex fails to do anything about it.. Bags of trash are left out from Friday night to Sunday night because there is no trash pick up those days. . There's a good chance a raccoon will open your trash can and rip the bag out of it. Floors are paper thin, I can hear my downstairs neighbors break up every weekend. I've had the police come to my door because my next door neighbor thought I was throwing a party. It was my downstairs neighbor! You could hear them through the shared wall. Buildings are old, but what is more important kitchen cabinets are very old and with COCKROACHES inside. This place is a wreck. Don't waste your money here, there are too many other options. If you took the time to read this review just know that it was heartfelt and I hope you don't make the mistake of living here like I did. we were a fool for staying as long as we did.
Lived there for one year For months we had the place infested with cockroaches we would complain everyday at the office and they would send someone in two weeks... terrible!!!!!!! The office guys are really nice before you move in but after that... takes forever to respond to calls, emails, even in person requests. We made a referral and they promise you a gift card or something... it never came... you call them they say they are going to call you back they never do it! Besides that location is good, apartments were cute... just not worth the price...
They have cockroaches infestation!!!!! Is terrible management is RUDE!!!!DO NOT RENT IN THIS PLACE IS AWEFULL . The pools are dirty bugs everywhere!!!!
The staff is incompetent and only care about you when they are roping you in to a year long lease. Once you sign the lease, you get no customer service. The staff is rude, they never answer the phone, and good luck finding someone in the office. The rent is the only luxury. The gym equipment is not maintained, the apartments are poorly constructed, you can hear your neighbor sneeze, and the road noise and dirt is annoying and disgusting. There are many other places to rent in the area with better customer service. Only go to TGM if you are desperate and don't mind being treated horribly.
I moved in a month ago and there have been A LOT of maintenance problems! Bobby from maintenance is pretty great, but otherwise maintenance has been unacceptably bad. Luckily, Enrique and Mike have been really helpful in trying to wrangle them down to help us. Enrique has gone out of his way on more than one occasion to make sure our needs were being met. As far as the apartment itself, I live in a "premium" level apartment and have found the appliances to be the best I have ever seen in a rental! There are aspects around that show the property's age (such as our AC unit), but as an avid cooker/baker I am IN LOVE with the appliances!
I moved here in September right as tgm took over. At first we loved it but soon realizes that management is terrible. To start things off my dryer was broken the second day we moved in. It took another three and a half weeks for it to be fixed period during that time I would told it would be fixed multiple times. This was only when I went into the office myself. When I called and left a message or emailed the manager I did not receive a response. I have never received a response from a phone call or an email. The only way to get information is to go in. The last straw that made us decide to look at other apartments for next year, was the the renovations they started in April. Suddenly without warning comma notice, or any information the parking lots were filled with shipping containers. Pallets were left out in the open, garbage was left out in the open comma many parking spaces were taken up. When I went to management to ask they told me that it was just the construction and that there was nothing they can do. Again this was after I had called and emailed, not received any information back I had to go in person
I worked with Enrique. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable on every aspect and amenity the property offers. Within very little time of about 30 minutes of discussion on my needs, he showed 4 units with a variety of floor plans and was able to help me select the perfect unit for my needs with a garage located in the same building! It was a wonderful experience. All the common area ammenities are updated cleaned, maintained, and stellar. Super excited to join this community. The community events and food trucks are a nice perk.
I can't believe the other reviews, this place is beyond amazing! My boyfriend and I moved from New York , and after looking at multiple run down or over priced " loft" apartments, we fell in love with TGM. First of all its gated, unlike other complexes around here, it has not one but 3 pools, which are always clean, a new dog park and two gyms! The neighbors are polite and quiet, our apartment is so spacious with a brand new kitchen, we couldn't be more happy. The front desk and Enrique were very accommodating with our move , which was great coming from over 1,000 miles away. We are thrilled with our selection, don't let the posts from over a year ago fool you, you will fall in love with this complex :)
This use to be a great community, but since TGM took over the rent has gone up and services have gone down. Takes days, weeks, and even months to get maintenance to show up - even after complaining that there are outstanding service issues. We use to be able to pay rent online and/or with auto pay but in the nearly year that TGM has been here they still have not been able to set up such a system. I feel bad for the competent office staff because they are surrounded with incompetent leadership. Absolutely a shame what they have done this once great location. We are sorry we renewed our lease and can't wait to leave. This is just an example of the level of professionalism they have working here. This is one of the many community emails that are sent out riddled with errors. This is exactly how the email was written: Hello Residents, This is just a friendly valet waste reminder because we have had complains of some residents leaving the trash out in the bins during the day. We are getting close to that time of year where it is getting hot and leaving the trash in the bins all day brings an unpleasant smell. The schedule for the Valet Waste is Sunday through Thursday. The trash can be put in the trash bin after 5 p.m. and it will be picked up from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Valet trash does not come out on Friday or Saturday, so if you have trash on those days you could take it to the communities trash compactors which one is located near the front gate by building 14 and the other one is located is the back next to building 19. We do have the blue recycle bags in the front office if you are needing those you can stop by the leasing office to pick some up. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Leasing Office,
I looked at about 12 other properties before deciding on TGM Bay Isle. I've been here for several months and the townhouse is great. I saw some of the other reviews and was hesitant, but I haven't seen any bugs or rodents here....other than the squirrels outside :-). The property is quiet, clean, pools are fantastic and the gyms have updated and clean equipment. Love walking the 1/2 mile around the lake to see the ducks, birds, and turtles. Also, the office staff, Enrique and Mike have been helpful and very nice to work with. I love it here!
I lived here for 3 years and recently moved out on September 30th. I have yet to receive my refund for my deposit despite the fact that I left the apartment cleaner than when I moved in. Due to a member of their staff not finalizing a leasing change (their mistake) they have done everything possible to keep my ridiculously large deposit (almost $900) dollars. For the past 3 months I have spent numerous hours on the phone and waiting in the lobby of the leasing office as well as sent a number of emails. The word of any of the staff can't be taken seriously as they have made verbal "guarantees" that have been broken. I have been called a liar, until I produced email exchanges. I have been ignored and gone weeks without responses. And for the holiday I was screamed at by one of the managers. To be specific "It's the holiday and I don't want to talk to you about this" followed by her giving me a bogus name and number for a corporate contact that may want to talk to me about my ongoing (3 months now) issue, because she did not. The management is rude, condescending and will lie to fit their agenda. I wouldn't normally call out a company but I've been blatantly told they weren't giving me an escalation contact and then they gave me a fake number so I'm left with few options. I am hoping that somehow corporate sees this review and cares more than the staff on site. For those of you who are thinking of moving in here you should know that it took them over a year and 2 tries to fix the cheap "wood" floors that were peeling up. And then I was told by the flooring company that I would have to deal with the floor being 2 different levels because there was nothing they could do about it. It took them even longer, yes longer than a year to clean the mold off of my windows. At the time of both renewals I requested carpet cleaning and that never took place. I cleaned the carpet myself. When I left it was in great shape, no thanks to Bay Isle Key. If you are considering signing a lease with them, proceed with caution. Nothing they tell you will be honored unless it's written in the lease and you better be sure that you watch them execute it in front of you or you will be living the ongoing nightmare that I am. If I could give them zero stars I would.
Been here for a year when it was Bay Isle Key managed by Greystar. Not it has been bought by TGM. They allow residents to register multiple cars, and do not provide designated parking for visitors or residents. The last few months, parking has been horrendous. I am a single mother of a 9 month old and need to be able to take her out of the car near my building. If I arrive home after 7pm there is nowhere to park around my building. After arriving home around 10:30 after leaving after hours pediatrics for a sick child, I arrive to find no where to park, not just in my building but the 4 buildings surrounding my building. So I could choose to walk several blocks in the dark with my child, purse, and baby bag, with poor lighting and no security in site, or I can neatly park my car on the side of the building not obstructing anyone in their respective parking spaces (AS MANY OTHER TENANTS HAVE DONE IN THE PAST). Well, at 6am, my daughter is still very ill, so I return to go back to the ER, only to find my car has been towed. No notice, no fair warning, no email, nothing, just taking a registered residents car. Most apartments that tow, have designated parking, TGM is OPEN PARKING. So that means I have to compete with visitors for parking. I pay rent, but have no where to park in the evening. This is how they treat their tenants. Well, we are now gladly leaving this place next month.
