Property Ratings at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments
Every time we call the rent office, they handle our issues. Every time we have a question, they make sure they answer them. Excellent location and the Gate is fully functional 95-97% of the time. And we love it here.

Hi, we are very happy we could provide you with a positive experience! We will be sure to share this feedback with our site team. If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out!
The interior of the apartments are nicely laid out. If however something needs fixing: GOOD LUCK with getting it fixed in a timely manner. There's generally 2-3 maintenance staff for 500+ apartments that are 30+ years old. The office staff has VERY HIGH TURNOVER. The grounds are not well kept, for the amount of rent they're charging. ASK QUESTIONS AND JUDGE HOW THEY ANSWER.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! Not only are the office staff seemingly incapable of doing their job, they will screw you over any chance they get. If something breaks in your apartment, you better hope you can fix it because they will take 7 MONTHS to help you. If you try to get someone at the office to help they either get rude or completely ignore you. It’s not worth the amount of money they are charging. I truly thought I liked this place until I did a walk though before move in day and it’s been down hill from there
I am comfortable with my apartment. I't in a greatlocation close to work off of barrett pkwy, the maintenance staff and leasing office have alwasy been helpful with renewing my lease each year and with maintenance work in my apartment. The are usually always avaiable on phone, although the staff usually changes every six months or so. Still they do a great job. This is a good complex for the price, and it's good for my budget. I recommend living on the second or third floor to avoid insects and mold and flooding. It's always important to call on maintennace each fall and spring for filters, checking thermastat, checking smoke detectors. It is important for the owner to do their part in keeping their apartment clean and organzied to avoid bugs. Still wish the trash service was beter. happy the roofers come each fall and spring to clean the pine straw off the rood and blow the straw away off the parking lots.
Had 3 major leaks in my apartment in a weeks time. Whole celling falling In took them 2 weeks to fix it I lost 3 days of work. All I ask for is one months rent free and they offer me only 400 for all this nightmare hell. Do not move here.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience with us. We would like to hear more about how we can further improve. We would appreciate it if you could give us a call to discuss this in more detail. Thank you.
Have only been here for two months and I can now see that we should have listened to the reviews on here. We have mold, roaches, insects, and stray cats everywhere. The trash service charge that they REFUSE to waive even when you tell them you take your trash out yourself, is completely pointless as their trash collection company will leave trash piling up for DAYS. Obviously, that creates even more problems on its own. Don’t even bother trying to contact them for maintenance requests, whether they’re small or dire, your requests will go unheard. We’ve had two people from the main office come to our unit to actually look at the issues, promise they’ll have someone come out, and then weeks go by and nothing is done. Even if you don’t care about your job, no need to lie to the people who are trying to have a stable place to rest their head. As everyone else has said in this section, simply avoid this property as much as possible.
I lived at the 1800 for two years. We had deer mice [dangerous], mold, bugs, the trash overflows daily, there's stray cats everywhere breeding and making more cats. The staff is nightmarish [except for ONE woman, god bless her, but she's no longer there]. I had water damage throughout my apartment for a leak I reported over and over again. They did nothing. When we moved out, we had to throw away clothes and furniture that had been ruined by mold and water. I should have sued this place. Never rent here.
Why is this property poor? Literally everything. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Ignore the fake reviews that the office posts for itself or incentivizes residents or staff to post. This is, by far, the WORST experince I've evr had in my life. The complex is disgusting - trash in the streets & piled up at the dumpster almost every day, buildings look sloppy & unkempt & the "common areas" are not maintained at all. The office building is the ONLY place they take pride in because it's literally the first thing you see. The inside of the units have years worth of paint mixed with bugs on the walls, lifting floors & baseboards and an overall lack of pride in in upkeep. There's mold in the bathroom & no matter how many times you clean it, it never goes away (also on the front door). The complex charges you for pest control, but never tells you that you have to request it every week/month in order to have it done - FREE MONEY FOR THEM! The valet trash service is over $45 a month on top of the fee they charge for the dumpter and an extra "Utility Service Fee" (they never explain it even if you ask) & most times the company they hire to collect trash, doesn't! Why am I being charged for a service that isn't performed????? The front office is rude, short, lazy & defintely profiles. They have slammed the door in my face, my fiance's face, screened our calls, ignored our emails & issued violations with NO proof for bogus reasons. The unprofessionalism at this "company" has completely blown my mind & I've managed customer service companies for a long time. The amount of disconcern for their tenants is saddening.
I have absolutely LOVED having such a caring, attentive office staff. Molly and Amanda have truly been a blessing. Every time I have a problem, they listen and fix it right away. Everything we’ve needed, they keep us up to date on the process and personally go out of their way to help us. After living here for 3 years, this staff is the best one yet. They are organized, helpful, and efficient. The community is quiet and it’s in a great location. I get a great price and the leasing office is always helpful! Thank you Molly and Amanda for being such rockstars this past year!
The worst apartments you could live in. They apply so many fees to your account and don’t tell you what they’re for. They don’t listen to residents. They’re rude and management sucks. Don’t live here.
This is one of the worst management companies ever. No one never knows absolutely anything. They lie just to get you out the office. Corporate or the Property Manager never responds to emails. Julius and Molly are the only employees that really care about the residents. I am upset I was forced to give 1 star. DO NOT MOVE HERE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!!
I haven’t even moved in yet and I’m already regretting signing a lease with this complex. I have had some questions about my move-in checklist, so I’ve been calling multiples times a day for A WEEK and no one ever answers or calls me back. This is UNACCEPTABLE. If you’re reading this and considering moving here, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK ELSEWHERE.
I have been dealing with 1800 Barrett Lakes far longer than I ever wanted to! I broke my lease here due to black mold & negligence of maintenance. I had to throw away most of my belongings included my couch, mattress & other expensive items. I constantly struggled with trying to get anyone to acknowledge these issues and I thought leaving would rid me from their horrible service for good but here I am, almost 6 months later and I’m STILL dealing with them due to the fact that I can’t get ANYONE to help me!!! I was issued a refund check that I was told would come in to mail within 30 days and it’s now been THREE MONTHS!!! I can’t get anyone to tell me where the check is or who I need to speak to in order to receive this refund. I will continue to write these reviews until someone reaches back out to me. The last step will be the better business bureau
The location is great but the price never answers the phone, they cannot give straight answers, and the Maintenance will bandaid issues
I would recommend 1800 at Barrett Lakes because the staff is very professional as well as meeting residents needs in a timely manner.
Nice environment. Nice units. Great gym. They have a TON of buildings and units to take care of but communication and paperwork management have been lacking. Could easily be chalked up to a change in office personnel. Took two days after move to get our keys. Office lost our insurance paperwork. Called me to get it then called my roommate two days later asking for it again.
We always enjoyed living here---at one time we went looking at houses but because we came from New England and knew we would travel back each summer--we decided to stay here--it's near everything important to us!! I've recommended 1800 in the past!
I loved living at 1800! My apartment was perfect. The new manager Wendy was awesome. she made my move out seamless. I hated to leave but my job took me elsewhere. I highly recommend them! Who knows! I may come back if the opportunity arises!
Even when problems occur, I can trust that a call to maintenance will get the issue resolved quickly.
There was a different leasing staff when i moved in but change a few months after. The new staff is horrible with such a nasty attitude. I recommend you look elsewhere.
Property Manager at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, We're sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience with our office staff. We take your feedback seriously, and would love an opportunity to investigate the issue. Please contact the leasing office so that we might discuss this further. Thank you an I hope to hear from you soon!
Nice area, clean, wonderful pool, nice FirePit, calm setting
The maintenance man was fast in completing my work order. I have seen great improvement in the last year in response time and I greatly appreciate it!
It' overall a great community.
safe and quiet . reasonably priced
Decent complex. However, there is always trash in the breeze ways and sometimes neighbors leave their trash out for days. The inside of my tub began peeling as soon as I started using it. I was shown white cabinetry and that is what I expected. When I moved in, I got brown cabinetry instead.
Pretty solid. You get a bit more than what you pay for.
Good location; good value. Not very well maintained and parking is a nightmare.
Everytime I put in a request (although rare) It is taken care of.
I love it here, it's comfortable and quiet.
i love living here, but the leasing office needs to improve their communication with the residents when someone needs assistance.
Haven't seen any roaches since the service. I'm a happy camper.
Each time I experienced a maintenance issue it would become and ongoing issue for months at a time. It got so bad after a while that I had to directly contact the leasing office for every maintenance request. The old manager was nice and got things done, but the new staff including the manager is rude. I called to voice an issue one time and the office manager hung up on me twice.
Property Manager at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. It did take a little while to get a new maintenance team in place. They are stay busy every day taking care of our residents.
Last issues were fixed promptly but issues are never fully resolved
Only reason i wouldn't is because of all the homeless people that hangout around my breezeway. Very annoying.
Great price for the quality of service and the size of the apt!
Quick and efficient. No hassles or questioning of why I needed something fixed.
yes
I would recommend this apartment because it's located in a nice area, everyone in the office is very helpful and friendly, and the apartment itself is a large space, very clean. However, I didn't realize the valet trash would be such an issue. It can get nasty after a while if people have a lot of trash.
Property Manager at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review of our community. We appreciate your residency here. The valet trash company has adjusted their rules during the pandemic. Please let our leasing team know if we can assist with this in any way.
The community was clean, a little friendly and kinda quite.

It would be nice if the building was cleaner. There are a lot of spots that look gross
Property Manager at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. Our maintenance team has been busy detailing the buildings and we hope you notice the difference. Please let us know of any thing in particular we can do for you. We appreciate your residency in our community.
I left the community due to circumstances related to divorce; however, the personnel, amenities, apartments, and so on made my two year experience there quite pleasant. If prices were lowered, then I would certainly reside there again.
Property Manager at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your 5 star rating and review. We appreciate it very much. You are always welcome back in our community.
Its a nice property, but the stairwells are a little dark and need better lighting.
Property Manager at The 1800 at Barrett Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review of our community. Please reach out to our leasing team if you are still finding your breezeway to be dark. We appreciate your residency and want you to be happy living here.
Always encountered positive experiences with staff & the community itself. Trash is occasionally a problem but manageable.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We hope you are enjoying your apartment home here at 1800 at Barrett Lakes.
I would recommend it because its a nice apartment complex in the sense that its a safe place to live but sometimes it can be trashy. there are stray cats outside my apt that eat my trash when I leave it out for the valet trash to pick it up and they've peed on my patio so it smells like cat pee. and I still have a good bit of issues in the apt that haven't been fixed, but also they are very busy because they have a lot to do.
beautiful fall trees comfortable living close to work and restaurants on barrett parkway:) excellent maintenance services and front office
I am excited to become a new resident and call The 1800 home. As for recommending this property, I would recommend Andrea to anyone interested. On top of her performance, the rate and the renovation of the apartment are recommendable as well.
